Ravensong is the second book in the Green Creek series, and it focuses on Gordo Livingstone. I really loved the first book, Wolfsong, and Ravensong is just as awesome. It keeps diving deep into the emotional side of the clan, showing feelings you don't usually get to see.

My favorite part of this book? The magic. It pulls you right in. You've got people turning into wolves, tattoos that move on their own, and witches—what's not to love?

The story is beautifully written, with a perfect mix of love, family, heartbreak, humor, and an amazing cast of characters. I’m so excited to keep going with the Green Creek series and jump into Heartsong next.

“But sometimes things happen that we don’t expect. Like finding a boy with magic in his skin who is everything.”

Huge thanks to Macmillan Australia for sending me an advanced copy of Ravensong!

This is the second book in the Green Creek series, and it pick up right where Wolfsong left off. We had met Gordo and Mark in the first book, and based on their past issues, I knew we were in for a wild ride. I really appreciated how the author showcased how hard these two had to work to make their relationship work. In TJ Klune fashion, this book is cozy and the banter is top notch. I highly recommend for fans of found family and supernatural MM romantasy.

Love the previous books by this author, but I think the series isn’t for me. I’ll still definitely try other books by this author.

“I’ll be your hands.” “And I’ll be your sanity.”

This is the second of four books in the Green Creek series and, while it took a little bit to get into, I loved it just as much as the first.

This installment is Gordo and Mark's story. I found Gordo to be grumpily charming in Wolfsong and he lived up to his character in this book as well. The first 25% is a bit of a recap of Carter, Kelly Gordo, and Joes's adventures from book 1 as they were looking for Richard mixed in with Mark and Gordo's history. It had been over a year since I read the first book, so this part was a little confusing to me, but once I got past it, everything clicked into place and I remembered why I love this series.

The characters that make up the pack are quirky and loveable, They are a mix of blood family and found family and they love each other so much. It is a family willing to do anything for each other and they have already been though so much. This made Gordo and Mark's back story so much more heart breaking - knowing Mark was forced to leave Gordo behind even when Gordo was his mate and tether.

I also love the setting of Green Creek. Set in a small Oregon town, the setting is a huge part of these novels and comes into play significantly in this book. Through TJ Klune's description of the location, you can tell this is a small, backwoods town where not many people pass through - especially in bad weather. It paints a great picture of how isolated the group was and also how they needed to come together to protect their pack and friends.

Overall, while the book was long, I didn't want it to end and I am excited to read installment #3! 4/5 stars.

I love TJ Klune’s writing style so much and will probably read anything he publishes… however I have discovered I am not a werewolf girly. I will not be continuing the series.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did - not my typical genre for sure. But TJ Klune has all my trust. Already continued with the series.

Ravensong was a heart-wrenching, funny, and compassionate book filled with second chance love and found family. I had to take a break halfway though this book because it was so sad and there was so much yearning between Mark and Gordo. Even though I felt all these things with Ravensong, I want to give it a billion stars and I can’t wait to read the next book, Heartsong.

Book 30 of 2024 - ✅! Thank you to NetGalley, Tor Publishing Group | Tor Books and TJ Klune for an ARC of Ravensong, in exchange for my honest review.

It took me over a year and a half to read this since I got it, but a book of this size that’s the second in a series + having an eventful year (that I’m very very grateful for) got me to this place.

I’ll lead with the fact that I don’t read as much fantasy as other genres, so take that into consideration when reading my thoughts. I read the first book in the Green Creek series - Wolfsong - earlier this year. In my personal opinion, that was a bit more engaging than Ravensong. This is Gordo’s story - one with wolves, witches, magic - and Mark. Gordo is a witch, who, from childhood, was always told to steer clear of wolves. Mark (a wolf), and Gordo have had a deep connection & love story that spans roughly 25-30 years. The sole focus of the book is not the love story - it covers a lot of ground, including the politics of the Green Creek world, which readers who are not as into romance might appreciate better than I would at this juncture.

I’d give this book a 2.5 ⭐️ rating, rounded to 3, as 2 would have felt a bit too harsh. 🐦‍⬛ 🪄🌳 #ravensong #greencreek #NetGalley

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor for providing me this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review!

Life in Greencreek is never quite normal. With the Bennett family pack, it’s even less so. But the story doesn’t start with Ox and Joe. In this installment of the Greencreek novels we follow the story of Gordo and Mark. Gordo knew from a young age that he was a witch and the Bennetts were his pack. What Gordo didn’t know is that he would be a mate to pack member Mark. As we move forward with the series, we are taken back in time to the beginning of their story.

I’ve taken quite some time to review this book. The first book was interesting but I could not get over the “age gap” between Ox and Joe. To see this similar path take place between Mark and Gordo makes me really question the intentions behind these stories. This play on “age is just a number” makes me uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I have to DNF this book. I had a feeling I would end up doing so and I put off the inevitable. The continuous disregard for age makes me worry. I know it’s just a made up story but at least make the characters of consenting age. I do love the story but not enough to waiver on my own ethics. This will sadly be the end of my Greencreek journey.

I loved the first book in this series and was eager to get my hand on the next in the series. It didn’t disappoint- looking forward to the next installment

I wasn't sure it was possible to love this book even more than I loved Wolfsong, but here we are. Gordo is the sweetest little grumpy witch ever and he deserves the world.

I about lost my mind at that ending though. The Bennett packs story is FAR from over and I am so here for it. I just know this is going to hurt.

TJ Klune has done it again. I have yet to read a book by TJ Klune that I have not liked.

I loved this book so much. It made me tear up but also made me giggle a few times.

I love Wolfsong and I wasn’t sure any character could top Ox in this series. But Gordo has come in with a close second.

I still need to work through my feelings. That’s why this is a vague review. But I can definitely say I LOVED IT!! And you should totally read this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor Publishing Group for the ARC of Ravensong!

This book begins by rehashing much of the plot from the previous book through Gordo's perspective before moving on to how the packs are adjusting to merging into one pack under two alphas. More and more trouble keeps coming their way as they learn with devastating consequences that all is not as it seems with the upper echelon of werewolf politics.

Gordo was one of my favorite characters from the first book so I was hoping to enjoy this one more than Wolfsong and I definitely did. I still don't think Klune's writing is for me but I am now invested enough in this story that I think I will continue the series. The plot of the stories are interesting but the characters are so hung up in their emotional drama with each other. And there is so much repetition in the writing. Granted, I have listened to both of the books in this series on audio so I think the repetitiveness is probably more annoying to listen to than it is to physically read. Gordo's human friends are probably my favorite part of the series as their comedy helps to lift the tone of the book from melancholic romantic pining.

I had mixed feelings about the first book. I loved the overall story, but just didn't vibe with some of the elements, like the weird age gap relationship. I gave this one a chance and actually thought it was better. There are still some issues, some more obvious than others.

As for the actual story, I liked Gordo's POV and thought the overall story was good. However, it's just too long and the story doesn't justify it. It definitely dragged quite a bit and took me forever to read even though I'm generally a quick reader.

Ever since I read Wolfsong the Bennett family hasn't been far from my thoughts. The Green Creek series is one of those tales that tears you down time and time again only to always build you up higher and higher. I was excited to move to Mark and Gordo' and see what had happed all those years ago. I liked that it started at the beginning of Gordo's story and that I got to learn why he was the way that he was in book one. I was also very happy to see that the two years that they hunted down Richard Collins and that it brought a lot of clarity with somethings that were maybe just left unspoken in book 1. I love the Bennett Pack. These are characters with so much depth and development that they stick with you. The world building as per Klune is wonderful, and I think that the story line with the Omegas and the betrayal that they uncover was both great and absolutely intense. There were definitely times in this book where I laughed out loud, cried from both sadness and happiness, and raged on behalf of the Bennetts. My heart was fully immersed in this book, and I am so happy to be moving on to the next book in the series as I know that it will be another amazing journey and experience.

I love everything TJ Klune writes and this series is no exception! I'm so glad Tor has republished these books so that they reach a wider audience. I'm very much looking forward to continuing the Green Creek series! Thanks for the arc!

Ravensong continues from the events of Wolfsong but this time it centers on Gordo, the pack’s witch (or is he). It was an alternate to present time Gordo to child Gordo giving us an understanding of what he went through and why he hates the Bennets so much. A lot of trigger warning for this story so make sure to find out the TWs. This was a lot better than the first one in my opinion. I think team human made this bearable than the first book.

Thank you Netgalley and Tor Publishing Group for the advance copy in return of my honest review.

If you liked the first book in the series, you will likely like this one too. I like that this one focused more on Gordo. Looking forward to book three!

Unfortunately I had to DNF the first book in this series , Wolfsong . I’m realizing this series just might be too YA for me and I’m finding I just can’t get into it . I know this series is really popular and have no doubt it will continue to receive all the love , but it’s just not for me .
