Beautiful prose, a love story for the ages, and gorgeously drawn characters, I fell in love with "Night of the Witch" right from the start. This was a fantastic reimagining of the European Witch Trials, and the dual narratives really served to offer gorgeous insights into both characters and left room for the love to sweep in.

This book took me a while to go through. Although I’m not personally against YA it’s not my usual genre hence why it took a while to get through. While I did like the romance I felt the pacing was too fast. I would like a little bit more background/plot. Overall, I did enjoy the story and I might continue on with the series.

I ended up DNFing this one. It wasn't gripping me and based on some reviews from my friends I didn't think it would be my cup of tea. It also doesn't help that I recently read another witch and witch hunter ya fantasy romance.

This was a different take on an enemies to lovers romance with a witchy twist. I was able to guess some of the twists in the book but the couple I was unable to were a huge shock. I enjoyed the plot and story but feel like there was too much filler that could have been removed from the story. I can’t wait to see what happens in the sequel to Fritzi and Otto.

I was drawn to this book through the concept and promise of the summary, but in the end it fell a bit flat for me. I wish there was more of a balance between the plot and the relationship build up between the characters — plot felt too slow, relationship felt too fast. Though it had potential, it didn’t quite hit the mark for me personally

This was not as good as I was expecting but was still a good read. I think its more of a personal shift towards a different genre. A case of right book wrong time.

I enjoyed this so much! I really liked the characters; especially the villain. To be clear, I don't love the villain because anything about him or his cause is appealing--in fact, I like him because nothing about him is appealing. Sympathetic villains and morally gray characters are having their moment right now, and I love that for them and I'm eating it up, but a truly evil, terrifying villain? YES this is so refreshing!! He reminds me of Judge Claude Frolo in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dam because he believes he is 100% in the right and will go to any lengths to reach his goal, and he's just truly *evil*. I love it, and I can't wait to see where the sequel goes.

I devoured this book. Read this book if you are into:
♡ Medieval Germany
♡ Sasspot Witch
♡ Witch hunters
♡ Full of twists
♡ Bloody trials

I did not enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. It was a little haphazard and possibly a bit boring. The story sounded intriguing but fell a little flat. Overall, though, I did like it.

I have loved everything I’ve read by Beth Revis. She never disappoints and this is no different! I adored Fritzi and Otto and the dual POV was perfection.

“Night of the Witch” is a captivating blend of two distinct voices, seamlessly woven together. The result is an emotionally charged and gripping book that will resonate with fans of fiction and epic tales of overcoming adversity.
Fritzi, a resilient witch, survived a brutal attack on her coven. Driven by a fierce determination to seek justice for her fallen kin, she embarks on a mission to confront the zealot witch hunters known as the hexenjägers. Her ultimate target: Kommandant Dieter Kirch.
Otto, a hexenjäger and undercover captain, harbors a deep-seated vendetta against the witch hunters who tore his family apart. His mother was unjustly burned alive by these very zealots. Now, he seeks retribution.
When Fritzi and Otto unexpectedly find themselves thrown together, trust is scarce. Yet, their shared enemy forces them into an uneasy alliance. As they uncover shocking truths and navigate shifting loyalties, their growing feelings for each other become a potent force—one that transcends revenge.
The book blends action, fantasy, and romance in a masterful way. The world-building around magic and witchcraft provides a solid foundation for future stories set in this intriguing universe. Against the backdrop of 16th-century witch trials, the destinies of a witch and a witch hunter intertwine, creating a promising start to a witchy new series.
“Night of the Witch” explores themes of belief, fate, power, accountability, and revenge. It’s a tale that grips you from the outset, evolving into a complex, dual-perspective narrative. If you’re drawn to stories that seamlessly blend history, magic, and romance, this book is a must-read.

I was not able to finish the book and therefore do not feel that I can give an unbiased review about the book, its plot, characters, or the author's work. I might revisit this book at a later time and finish it then, but not right now.

I love witchy reads and "Night of The Witch" is nothing like your usual spooky book! It's super fast-paced, keeping you turning the pages faster than you realize. Filled with action and magic, I really loved this one although the slow burn was a little too slow at times.

I really enjoyed this book! Fritzie and Leisel, along with Otto, have to figure out a way to save their magic. This story was intriguing and a great read. I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds!

I forgot to leave a review for this, but I really enjoyed it! It's been out for ages, so I won't say much more than I need to for my star rating. <3

I went into this book extremely interested in the description but also a little hesitant as some witchy reads don’t always do it for me. Night of The Witch is nothing like your usual spooky read. The story is fast paced and intriguing, keeping you turning the pages faster than you realize. It’s action packed with a strong fill of clear, precise, magic that I was nervous would become confusing but I was able to follow it so clearly through every chapter.
The slow yet intense burn with the enemies to lovers trope had me hanging on every word, screaming just to “make something happen already” - but everything happens at it’s on pace and truthfully the twists and turns are planned so perfectly I couldn’t have seen it go any other way. This truly is a great read to get you in the spooky vibes, and I’m so grateful I was able to receive this ARC.

I absolutely loved this book. It's been a long time since I've been able to fully get into a witchy book and this filled a void I didn't realize that I have been missing. The setting is beautifully written and vivid so that you feel that you're there seeing what is happening, The writing was don't well and kept you focused and drawn in. I loved the characters and the fact that I didn't see the plot turning the way that it did was such a bonus. I cannot wait to read the next book!!

I absolutely adored this book! It's a lovely take on the enemies-to-lovers trope. The characters, Fritzi and Otto, each have their own deep motivations for their journey, and the way they grow close is realistic and so fun to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves historical fantasy, enemies-to-lovers, and heroines who don't take no shit.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this pre-publication.
I absolutely loved Raasch’s other book ‘These Rebel Waves’ and was thus convinced I would enjoy this one. Alas, I dnf’ed it at 24%.
I loved the premise, but I felt like the occasional German word mixed within the English-told story took me out of it. This was most likely because I know a bit of German, but doesn’t change the fact that I kept getting pulled out of the story.
I hope I’ll prefer Raasch’s next book!

I loved that this book throws you right in from the beginning. It was absolutely thrilling. The fast-paced nature of the book was definitely for me and kept me wanting to read more. While being fast-paced, it did not feel rushed by any means and everything felt like it was revealed at the right time. I enjoyed the characters and their development throughout the story. I found myself rooting for them and wanting to know what was going to happen between the two. I am looking forward to reading the next book!
