"Close Enough to Hurt" by Katherine A. Olson is a poignant exploration of love, loss, and second chances. While the pacing may feel uneven at times, Olson's tender portrayal of complex emotions and realistic character dynamics makes for a deeply moving read that lingers in the heart long after the last page.

This was a fun and bingeable read. The connection between Daniel and Dylan felt genuine, and I enjoyed the Promising Young Woman aspect to the story. However, there were certain parts of the dialogue that had me rolling my eyes a bit.

This was one that I had seen lots of hype about, it didn't work for me, the storyline started off with a hook line and sink and ended up in a bust for me. It was a book that seemed to drag .

With a strong plot, well-developed characters, and a skillful blend of action and emotion, this is a captivating thriller that masterfully explores the intersections of justice, revenge, and love. A riveting debut novel that seamlessly blends the intensity of revenge with the complex emotions of a budding romance.

Plot:
The plot unfolds with the perfect mix of suspense, action, and emotional depth. Dylan embarks on a mission to bring down predatory men, but when personal vendettas become entwined, the stakes are raised. The narrative skillfully weaves thriller and romance, creating a gripping story that tackles themes of justice, morality, and the consequences of revenge. The plot twists are well-executed, keeping the reader engaged until the final pages.

Characters:
Dylan Truman, aka Lady Justice, is a compelling and multifaceted protagonist. Her internal struggle between seeking revenge and confronting her growing feelings for Daniel adds depth to her character. The supporting characters are nuanced and textured, contributing to the overall richness of the story. Dylan's independence, do-it-yourself attitude is extremely relatable and her evolution is refreshing.

Setting:
The Bay Area serves as a vibrant and atmospheric backdrop for the story, but I may be biased as this is where I was raised. The vivid descriptions adds authenticity to the characters' actions and decisions. The setting contributes to the overall atmosphere of the novel.

Conflict:
The conflict is believable, rooted in personal trauma and a quest for justice. I think many women can relate to the feelings this story evokes. The tension escalates as Lady Justice's mission becomes entangled with her emotional turmoil and the escalating danger posed by Brent Wilder. Does Lady Justice take it too far? The resolution is satisfying. The author skillfully navigates the complexities of the characters' choices, providing a conclusion that feels earned.

Writing:
The writing style is engaging and well-paced, keeping the reader invested in the characters and their journey. The author adeptly juggles the emotional nuances of the characters with the high-stakes situations, creating a cohesive and compelling narrative. The overall execution and depth make this book a standout debut and I can't wait to watch this author continue to grow.

Such a fantastic debut novel by @katherineaolson!

This romantic suspense was packed full of revenue. As well as having a bad ass FMC. I loved her personality. A touch morally grey, some vulnerability, and also funny. She was something else! The MMC, well, what's not to love about him. He was the perfect amount of protective. The friends to lovers storyline with a tad of spice was such a great balance in this story.

If you love a good revenge story, definitely pick this one up! The audio was also so well done.

Thank you @netgalley @katherineaolson @dreamscape_media @crookedlanebooks for the opportunity to read and listen to this debut novel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I loved this debut! It’s about a woman who calls herself Lady Justice. She takes jobs to right wrongs, covertly, of course. Her lastest case is personal.
I love the author’s wit and sarcasm. It is also quite spicy! Can’t wait for more from this author!

One of my favorite sub genres in the thriller category are revenge thrillers. I seriously cannot get enough of them and when an email from Thriller Book Lover Promotions hit my inbox about reading and reviewing CLOSE ENOUGH TO HURT, I could not wait to get my hands on it. Just look at the stunning cover!
Dylan Truman, aka Lady Justice is a bad ass woman who is a revenge for hire freelancer. When her partner, Daniel refers a case to her, Dylan finds out the man she is to bring down is none other than CEO Brent Wilder. It so happens he assaulted Dylan’s sister when she was 16 years old and got away with it. Lady Justice will do whatever it takes to seek revenge on Brent Wilder.

The first chapter really sucked me in and right away I knew I was going to love Dylan’s character! She is such a bad ass and the way she seeks revenge on men is absolutely genius. There were a few times my heart was pounding, and I had to catch my breath as she skillfully puts her plan in place to destroy Brent Wilder. Brent Wilder is a narcissistic sociopath and a predator, and he made my skin crawl!

I loved how Daniel was so protective of Dylan and I thought the romance and spice thrown in was well done.

It’s hard to believe this is the author’s debut novel! I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next!

Dylan Truman who also goes by the name Lady Justice does the real world version of #Canceled. There’s nothing she dislikes more than an abusive entitled grown man who acts like a baby and there’s nothing she loves more than putting them on Front Street. She never gets her hands dirty that is until her sister Janine calls and tells her about Brent Wilder he is an intergenerational trust fun kid who was lucky enough to make it rich using the genius of others and Dylan who will go by Delilah has him in her sights. Her best friend in secret crush Daniel Haas doesn’t like her plan putting her self in danger her plan is to move next-door and use herself as bait she dies her hair buys new clothes and asked like a world traveler and a nuvo rich Basic rich girl and it works, until it doesn’t. There is a lot more going on like Daniel‘s parents make an arrangement for him to marry Soha Hall whose parents are the wealthiest people in Korea and although even Dylan thinks her beautiful and very nice she selfishly wants Daniel to herself. They have shared many heated moments but always broke it off before it got intimate she just wants her friend to be happy the wishes he could be happy with her. Let me just say they have sex scenes in this book that go on for pages and they have abusive language but haven’t put those triggers out of the way this is a fabulous book I really enjoyed it I love Dylan I love that she was smart and independent and I love that Daniel let her be that not that he could’ve stopped her but it’s almost as if he loved her because of it you have to read the book it’s awesome I loved it a total winner. I hope she writes another book with lady justice if she can? I have never read a book from Catherine a Olson before but I will definitely be looking out for her books in the future. I really do not feel a need for detailed sex things in a book but I will be more than happy to swipe past those pages to get to any story Miss Olsen wants to write. She has a great writing style character distinction Dylan was bad ass but so likable and Daniel just sound like The perfect man. I love this book and highly recommended with the exception of the sex thing of course. I want to think the publisher and NetGalley for my free arc copy please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.

Oh my... What a refreshing read! A dastardly villain, a steamy love story and a happily-ever-after... What's not to love?

I really enjoyed Dylan, even though here were a few times I wanted to shake her. Daniel, well, what can I say? He's a keeper, that's for sure. Together, they are a bit of Bond mixed with a hefty helping of Joanna Lindsay (with the volume turned ALL the way up!).

Close Enough to Hurt was something different from the usual thriller. It's fresh, racy and it kept me hooked right from the beginning. This is my first Katherine Olson, but won't be my last.

4 sparkling stars!

Close Enough to Hurt by Katherine A. Olsen is a strong debut novel. Dylan Chambers is everything. Her brand of justice mixed with her humor and determination made me love her. This isn’t a straight thriller as there is romance in it but Olson perfectly weaves them together. This is a really quick, fun read. So much so that I immediately grabbed her next book off of NetGalley!

Fantastic debut! Amazing fast paced thriller with twists you don’t see coming. This one was packed full of suspense with a nice side of spice. Loved the main character Dylan - she’s a baddie with a heart hidden deep down. Will definitely be looking out for more by this author!

A thriller mixed with some romance? Yes please! Dylan is a professional revenge artist and helps those who have been wronged retaliate. When her past collides with her new life in more ways then one she has to figure out the best course of action.

This was a great read and I absolutely loved it! Dylan is a bada$$ and I loved her character!

Thank you Netgalley, the publisher and the author for my ARC!

Welcome to the world, Lady Justice! I love a good revenge book, and Close Enough to Hurt checks off all the necessary elements. Dylan is a bad-ass vigilante, working one scumbag at a time to get justice for the women they have wronged. The interplay between Dylan and Daniel is fun and entertaining, and I thoroughly enjoyed the will-they-or-won''t-they dynamic. The plot pacing is perfect, and the ending was everything that I wanted it to be. Close Enough to Hurt is a stong debut from Katherine A. Olsen, and I'm already excited to see if we see Lady Justice again in the future!

WOWWWW!!! What a fantastic debut!
This was a fun, fast paced thriller with short chapters. My favorite kind of book!
I loved the MC, Dylan. She was bad ass, but also had a vulnerable side and you felt the raw emotions with her.

This book was suspenseful and had a touch of spice! I was sitting on the edge of my seat and truly didn’t want it to end. This one comes out October 10th and is an absolute must read!

What an amazing and thrilling debut novel! I enjoyed this book and did not see the twists coming. I was not expecting the spice but I enjoyed it. Katherine’s style of writing has you hooked from the beginning. This was a slower start but it was worth the build up. I look forward to more reads by this author. If you don’t have this on your radar it needs to be!!

I LOVED this debut!! Dylan Chambers aka Lady Justice is my new favorite female MC. Her dark humor, vulnerability, and badass personality makes her incredibly likable. I thoroughly enjoyed the twisty revenge and the friends to lovers romance with some added spice.
