This is book five out of a six book series, but can also be read as a stand alone.

Kinley is a PT and she is helping Matthew recover some active duty injuries. He also just heard that he will be taking custody of his niece. Through their sessions they grow close. This story line was told quite well.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Kinley and Matthew. Matthew got hurt on a seals mission. He goes to see Kinley, who is a hand doctor. There is an instant attraction. They are next door neighbors. There starts to be lots of accidents around Kinley. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book. This was a really good read. I'm not normally a romance reader but I was drawn to this book. The story of an injured SEAL and his therapist falling for each other was very well done. Looking forward to more from this author.

Navy SEAL Matthew Templeton, who sustained injuries during his recent mission in Colombia resulting in the death of his teammate Sebastian, seeks the expertise of Dr. Kinley James, a specialized physical therapist focusing on hand rehabilitation. Matthew hopes to regain his abilities as an explosive and bomb expert, despite Dr. James expressing doubt regarding his chances of fully restoring fine motor skills in his dominant hand for his former role on missions. Undeterred, Matthew remains determined to recover. Coincidentally, they discover that they are neighbors and their paths intersect when Matthew requires assistance with his niece, while Kinley finds herself in need of protection after accidentally overhearing a conversation involving one of her patients.

This book delves into themes of family, friendships, tragedy, and love, delivering a fast-paced and action-packed storyline that keeps readers on the edge of their seats until the very end. While all the main characters possess strength, my personal favorite is Matthew. Overall, it provides an enjoyable reading experience.

You can’t tell me this 2 year old didn’t melt your heart from the first pizza slice?
A charming romance with a very sweet build-up. Exact power dynamic needed to balance each other out.
Now I want my own SEAL.

Thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this book for an honest review.

Not as angsty as others in this series. Kinley and Matthew meet when he gets treatment for his wounded hand. Between hit-men and stubborn SEAL's, car accidents etc, they find a connection. Nice to see some of the women from previous books.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, but reads well as a stand alone. Kinley James is a physical therapist and Matthew is her patient. He has just gotten custody of his niece and doesn't have a clue. Kinley's life is in danger due to seeing to much. I found this to be cute. 3 stars

Kinley is a physical therapist and her new patient is Matthew a Navy Seal who was injured in combat. Matthew new town enlist the aid of a physical therapist that came recommended to him for his injury to his hand. He hopes to gain full mobility so he can get back to duty and be able to handle all his nieces needs since he is now her legal guardian. Neither one of them realize that they are neighbors until after Kinley begins working with Matthew. But have to fight the growing attraction while Kinley is also struggling with constant close calls. Matthew is concerned that someone is out to hurt her because she over heard something she shouldn't have.

Good story, I have not read the books prior to this one in the series. At first it was a little slow but then started picking up and ran really well.

This is the 5th book in the “Hartsville’s SEAL Heroes Series”. Leslie’s Navy SEALs are super sexy alphas that are entertaining easy quick reads, suspenseful, drama, action packed, trust, betrayal, mystery, mayhem, great character with plots that held me captive. This the romantic journey of Matthew and Kinley. Kinley is a physical therapist. Matthew is a Navy SEAL who was injured on a mission and damage his hand. Matthew also lost his sister and is now the guardian of his 2-year-old niece. Kinley accidently finds out that one of her clients is a mafia hitman and her life is in danger. Kinley is assigned to Matthew as his physical therapist. When Matthew and Kinley meet there is a connection between the two. The two that they are neighbors and become friends. Once Matthew is aware of Kinley’s situation he is there to protect and keep her safe.

Can Matthew protect and Kinley save, will Matthew be able to return to his Navy SEAL job, is there an HEA in store for Kinley and Matthew?

Fantastic for Navy Readers

I loved how the fuzzy and warm feeling I've got when reading this book. It's also easy to read. I loved how Matthew care for his niece despite his injury and inexperienced taking care a toddler. However, adding Kinsley into their life give them more of happy family moments. I can't deny the book make say awwwwwwww everytime I read their moments as a family. With Kinsley being so good as a mom and refill the empty space in Anaya life. And of course, the Navy Community are just supportive to each other by giving Matthew and Kinsley advices regarding their relationship.

I'm excited to read the next series of the book which The Seal's Hookup which is about Jonathan's story.
Thanks for giving me this opportunity to read and review an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Sexy and hot! Was drawn in by the cover and blurb and was excited to dive into another military romance. Plot was a bit slow, but character relationships were strong!

I love this series, and this book did not disappoint at all.
Matthew, one of the SEALS injured in the last mission, is in town trying to rehabilitate his hand while trying to become accustomed to caring for his 2 year old orphaned niece. His therapist, Kinley, is honest about his prognosis and also very good at what she does. When Kinley over hears aa conversation that a puts her life in danger, Matthew will stop at nothing too protect her. But when the danger is over, will these three be able to form a family?
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Matthew moves to Hartsville to work on physical therapy with a specialist in town. He is motivated to get back to his Seal team so he is willing to put in the work. During his recovery he has become the sole support for his young niece. He doesn't know how he will balance being a Seal and a single parent but he wants to make it work. Kinley loves running her own physical therapy clinic. She is immediately attracted to Matthew and falls in love with his niece. Unfortunately, Kinley is either cursed with terrible bad luck or someone is trying to hurt her. Can they figure out how to make their burgeoning relationship work and stop the bad guy before it's too late?

I enjoyed this story a lot. Matthew wasn't obnoxious as he was driving toward his goal to return to the Seals. In fact, he had moments of real growth (like maybe his household doesn't need to be quite so regimented). The author showed how he moved from his injury to his final decisions in the story. I won't say what he ends up doing but it made perfect sense for the story. Kinley's determination to have a child of her own was really moving. She's a smart woman that works hard in her career and she seems to have endless love to give a child. The author did a good job making Kinley smart and showing her as a human with a huge heart. I was rooting for them to find a way to make it work. I even enjoyed the addition of Matthew's niece, Anaya. She added to the story in a number of ways.

My one complaint is that this is a short story and it often felt rushed. This story needed a little bit more breathing room. I happen to have read other stories in the series so I understood some of the relationships but if you haven't read any of the other stories the relationships between all of the various characters could be a head scratcher. And then the author introduced the idea of the local police. Another group to keep track of!

I will read more from this author in the future. I would suggest reading more from this series before reading this book.

Maybe a hair under 3 stars.

Eh. It was okay. Good for a fast, uncomplicated, and 70 percent satisfying read. At first, I was really happy. It was sweet to see Matthew trying to figure out the dad thing. Kinley showed a lot of promise as a strong, capable main character. I love how competent and cool she is when she is in her professional environment.

Unfortunately, plot convenience soon takes over. First, Kinley conveniently lives next door to the house Matthew is renting, a coincidence that isn't even really remarked on. Then, we learn how Kinley has been trying to adopt and is great with kids ((instant, obvious bonding with the niece). Then the suspense soon kicks in, and the fact they're neighbors makes it so much easier for Matthew to be where he needs to be to come to Kinley's aid. Finally, some additional convenience comes in the form of omission. What on earth is Matthew thinking by letting Kinley stay over with his niece in the house? The woman has a mobster after her, for Pete's sake.

I also didn't feel all that much chemistry between Matthew and Kinley. I was a little uncomfortable with them hooking up when she was his PT, though, fortunately, they kept their shenanigans away from her office. But mostly, I missed the capable Kinley from the first several chapters. She just gets a little boring.

It only took me a few hours to read this novel, and if you're looking for pure escapism, you probably won't be disappointed. However, the competition for pure escapism in the form of military romantic suspense is pretty tight. You could probably find another of the genre that's just ever so much more satisfying. That said, I do have a copy of the next book sitting on my shelf, and I'm going to read it next. This author has enough hits that the occasional miss isn't a deal breaker.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

I really like the fact that these books can be read as a stand alone. Anaya has a pretty smart head on her shoulders. It shows by how her patients respect her. Matthew is a protector. One of my favorite scenes was where he is doing his nieces hair, and rocking it too. The storyline flowed smoothly and I loved reading this book.
