This missed the mark for me. The character development was not there and because of that - I didn't connect with any of the characters or their storylines. Mac and Cole were just... meh. The inconsistencies and holes in the plot were too much to ignore. It felt more like a rough first draft than an ARC. Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC, Entangled: Amara for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book made me want to go on a cruise holiday and have the fun romance. So much fomo in one story. I really enjoyed jt.

While I was excited to read this while I was on a cruise, the book fell a little flat for me. Mac's life is in pieces after her ex not only broke up with her, but also fired her from her job. Now she's boyfriend, job, and apartment-less. Her best friend, though, treats her to a cruise to help her get away and sort out her life. Travel agent Cole, meanwhile, needs to decide whether or not to take his company remote or pay more rent, but neither option works for him. This cruise, though, is to visit his friend who is in his last week of work on the ship. A luggage mishap brings the two together and the connection is instant. Mac, though, just wants a fling because she needs to get her life in order. Cole, on the other hand, knows this is real and feels alive for the first time in years. If only he can convince her this is more than just a fling.
The idea of a cruise fling is great and it was fun to see the cruise experience brought to life. Both Cole and Mac have disabilities - he lost a leg in a bombing and she's hearing impaired. It was amazing seeing that representation. While the chemistry and romance was present in the book, it was missing something more. The relationship was too easy and as a fling, it shouldn't be complicated, but it left the book a little flat. There wasn't much conflict aside from how does this continue past the last day of the cruise. Their personal conflicts of what to do next with their lives didn't seem to bring enough drama to the table. The side characters were fun, but they didn't bring much to the story except a sounding board for the main characters. This was a quick and easy read, but it didn't have enough draw to really get me excited about it. It needed more depth, but I suppose as a fling, it wouldn't be anything more than just easy fun.

The plot idea was cute, but I didn't particularly appreciate how the author told this story. It was full of cliché. And for some reason, I just didn't care about Mac and Cole.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I received this ARC, and wanted to tell you my thoughts! As always, thank you to the author and publishing house for giving me a chance to get this early. This story follows Mac who has had a lot of bad luck recently. She found her boyfriend cheating on her, and so she broke up with him. Obviously things are more complicated when not only does she stay at his place, but he’s also her boss. In one quick breakup, she has no relationship, no job, and nowhere to live. She decides to leave reality for a few days, and go on a luxury cruise. While on the cruise, she meets Cole. The moment he meets Mac, he feels sparks fly. For 9 days, they both have the time of their lives. Of course things aren’t as simple as they get closer to reality. With lots of ups and downs in both of their futures, can they find a way to let each other in?
I really liked the fact that Mac and Cole both had physical disabilities. Mac was hard of hearing, and has to wear hearing aids, while Cole wears a leg prosthetic. I also really loved how cute the cover is, perfect summer read vibes.
While I enjoyed reading the story, I also felt like this story lacked a lot of depth. They had a friend group, and while they had many scenes that included them, I felt that I didn’t know any of them. Not only that, but I felt like all the characters fell flat. I also am not a fan of insta-love, but that’s just a personal preference. Overall, I didn’t find this story to stand out much in anyway. 3⭐️s

This is a first time read for me by this author, so I didn't have any particular expectations.
It was a cute and very entertaining and enjoyable story. I liked the characters of Cole and Mac, who were very realistic with relatable qualities. I enjoyed getting to know them and was endeared to them from the start. Mac is ready to forget about men and leave reality behind for a while. Her friend sets her up on a cruise and she is ready to enjoy herself. Cole doesn't really do relationships, but when he meets Mac, the sparks fly, and she seems to be the only one he wants to be with. They spend a lot of time together while on the cruise and really enjoy each other's company, but the cruise has to end at some point, and then the party ends. Back on land and back to reality, can their relationship continue when they get back to their real lives?
The story was cute and flowed nicely and kept my attention till the end. I found it to be a charming and enjoyable romance.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This story was exactly what I needed. I wanted to feel like in a vacation and the storyline happening on a cruise ship was perfect for my mood. It even detailed each cruise port during the cruise. I was literally in that cruise with the protagonists.

This was light and easy read and a bit predictable. However, it captured everything you would expect from a book called «  A Cruise Fling » I liked that there was a prologue and went a bit deeper than just the timing of the cruise. And I do admit, it did make me shop for a cruise! But, I chose to escape in another book, which is much less expensive…

If you are looking for a sweet escape… Do not hesitate! Sometimes, we do need lighter books in our rotation!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for granting me a complimentary e-arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book made me want to book a cruise! Who knows what can happen?

This book was easy to read and it was a story that left you a smile. I liked the representation of people with disabilities and their struggles felt realistic to a person with no disabilities. The lemon theme was sweet in the beginning but a bit overused at the end. The ending felt like too much of twists were stuffed to too little amount of pages and the end was too cliché for my preferences. But still the book was a ”feel-good” story for me. Made me happy.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read A Cruise Fling on my cruise earlier this month. And maybe that's why I loved it so much? Like, the activities that happen aboard the cruise ship might have mirrored my own sailing pretty much perfectly. I mean, without the romance. Because I went with my mom. And I'm married. But pish tosh.

This was cute and while there was definitely some pacing problems, I enjoyed it overall. I especially love the representation we get in this book with Cole have a prosthetic and Mac being hard of hearing. If you're looking for something light and fun to read this summer, I definitely recommend this one. Do take a peek at some of the content warnings though, just in case.

This was a great story. I really enjoyed reading it. It was a great fun feel-good type story that definitely left me smiling. It was certainly a very satisfying read. The characters were easy to connect to. I liked the fact that the book was cheesey and had an amount of predictability. It was a great medium pace low smut romance novel. Perfect for those like me who like 2/5 spice level. I loved how the romance progressed. They were just the perfect fit for each other. I definitely recommend reading this book if you love accidental rom coms.

So much praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such a fun, easy-going story.

Fun and easy read! Recommend if you're in the mood for a light romance - bonus points that it features both MCs with disabilities and how it doesn't hinder them.

I love a good met-cute and this book has it. Switched luggage and then the romance blooms. The cruise ships adds to the excitement in this book! Great summer, beach, or cruise read!

I had high hopes for this book. The plot seemed interesting and I thought it would be a fun and quick read but this book was not it.
The were so many inconsistencies and errors and the editor in me was raging every time I came across another error. I believe that the idea was there, but it wasn't done well enough. There were so many times I had to stop and consider not even giving a review on the book because I honestly couldn't find one good thing to say about it. It felt like I was reading a literal first draft, not a ARC copy.

The characterisation needs to be better, I feel we don't have a good sense of 'who' they really are which made me struggle to connect to the story.

The whole 'fling' trope doesn't sit well with me anyway. I find it boring and over done.

It was the slowest book, which was crazy because it was quite small.

With some work on the plot, structure and general editing, it could be better and unfortunately it just isn't there yet.

I have a soft spot for rom coms set on cruises. Not sure why that is.. This one was no exception. This was a cute fun read and would definitely recommend to a friend. Might be good to even take on a cruise and read while on board. Loved and would recommend!

I think my high rating stems from the fact that I’m just a sucker for all things cruise ships. This was cute, not sure I would say great, and also not sure I would read more from this author

I really wanted to like this book more than I did. I liked the concept of the book, but the delivery just didn’t do it for me. There were many times where I thought about putting the book down, but I wanted to know what was going to happen with Mac and Cole.

A Cruise Fling by Laura Brown brought the perfect setting of being on a cruise ship. I loved the cruise ship setting as it made me long to be a ship. However, the story felt choppy and a little all over the place. The main character was a little over the top for me. Now if the story focused on the best friend, Dani, I would have been a lot more into this story. Overall, I liked the concept but hoped for more.
