A big thank you to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, this is the third. I have not read the others in the series. I am not sure that for me reading the others in the series would help. For me, this was sort of out there. This is Rosi's story. The setting was fun-Greenland. 3 stars

Rosi Sanchez has won a trip of a lifetime, and is about to embark on a tour of the all new Glacial Palace resort in Greenland. She hopes to explore the frozen tundra in search of a cryptid, which will bolster her graduate dissertation and prove to the world that monsters exist. Her guide on this trip is none other that Austin Cooper, extreme sport superstar, and the "face" of the resort. She doesn't plan on falling for him...

For his part, Austin wants to secure a ticket to the Space Games, and this job at Glacial Palace is his path to competing. He isn't interested in a relationship due to the dangers of his extreme lifestyle, but he doesn't expect Rosi to be the smart, sexy, firecracker that she turns out to be.
When Rosi discovers a cryptid, things start unraveling fast, and everyone's secrets turn into an avalanche that might destroy everything.

I was on the edge of my seat with this story, waiting to know how things were going to turn out. It was very intense at times, intriguing at others, and had a bit of spice woven throughout. I liked they mythological aspects, and the representation of indigenous people. The world building was good, and the advanced tech was named to be easily understood without explanation.

Austin and Rosi were likeable, and their scenes together were hot. I struggle with insta-love, but Rosi even acknowledges it, so it kind of worked. I definitely want to know what is going to happen at the next resort, and will probably go back and read the first two books in the series, as well.

I loved that you didn't have to have read the first two books in this series to enjoy Glacial Heat. The romance itself is standalone. It seems like a few things from the series arc carry over. but overall, it was easy to just jump into. While I enjoyed the romance, it was the combination of that and the monster hunting that got me to really appreciate the story. I am not a big insta-love fan, so I think that took away from the book a bit for me. But I believe lovers of that trope would be delighted.

Thank you Lizzy Gayle and Netgalley for my audio advanced review copy. My opinions are my own.
