SO so so good. Highly recommend 👌🏼
“Everything I thought I knew about my life is a lie. My mother revealed a terrible, dangerous secret in her last letter to me. But, with her death, any chance of knowing the truth has disappeared. I’ll have to do whatever it takes to find out for myself.
Going back to the house where I was born, I find a family living the life I’d always dreamed of. And when Cecelia, the mother, mistakes me for the new nanny, I seize the chance to move in. Maybe, being in the house every day and night, I will remember more, uncover more, about the secret that haunts me…
But this family is not the happy one it appears from the outside. Cecelia is angry, unpredictable, unstable. She is not the mother these children deserve. They are scared of her, and rightly so.”
Casey Kelleher’s “The Babysitter’s Secret” is a gripping psychological thriller. With unexpected twists and unreliable characters, this novel weaves a web of intrigue and suspense.
The story revolves around a family harboring more secrets than they reveal. The protagonist, whose life is upended by a shocking revelation, discovers she is adopted. Determined to uncover her true identity, she infiltrates the family she believes holds the key to her past. But as she settles into her new role as the nanny, she realizes that this seemingly perfect family hides dark secrets.
Cecelia, the mother, is unpredictable and unstable, and her children fear her. As memories from the protagonist’s childhood begin to resurface, she becomes increasingly determined to protect the children from harm. But how long can she maintain her charade, and what risks will she take to safeguard them?
Kelleher’s skillful plotting and vivid characterizations make “The Babysitter’s Secret” a compelling read.

A good read and full of tension. Chilling at times too. I couldn't put it down and read it in just one evening. I couldn;t wait to see how it ended.
I really enjoy Casey's writing and this was no exception: it's dark and yet I wanted to know hat was going to happen and kept me awake long after reading; I would def recommend
‘OMG WHAT A READ!!!! This chilling and mind-blowing read will grip you until the insane final page. Whenever I thought I knew what was happening and had the twist guessed, something else changed. If you like a dark twisty thriller I highly recommend this.
I love a great thriller that masterfully pieces itself together the longer I devour it! The characters left a bit to be desired but that is okay because the twists were thrilling!
Another great read by kelleher! If you enjoyed her earlier works you will love The Babysitter's severer!

Thanks for this entertaining read. I found myself intrigued with this book. Once I started to read I couldn’t put it down. And the ending was amazing! thanks
I really enjoyed this book!! I couldn't put it down as I just wanted to find out how it was going to end!!
I love when a book has a lot of secrets and deception. I enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to see what would happen next and what would be revealed. This is one I would recommend.
I have to say I am impressed. THE BABYSITTER'S SECRET was as thrilling and as addictive as "Only Child" was and I devoured it in one sitting! A dark and twisted tale, it is a chilling one that will have you questioning who and what to believe as both narrators are unreliable and incredibly complex.
Compelling and gripping, I couldn't put it down. It was twisty and unpredictable. This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last
This book is a very additive read, full of tension and suspense and tells the stories of Emily and Sasha. Emily has been released from a mental health facility after killing her son. She is living in a flat to rehabilitate and is helped by two carers Louise and Charlotte. But she is struggling to cope as she constantly thinks she can hear a baby crying and is convinced that Louise is trying to get her back in to the psychiatric ward. Sasha has recently lost her mum and is still reeling from the letter she left her explaining that she was adopted. She decides to visit the house where she grew up in. The current occupier mistakes her for the new nanny and Sasha decides to keep up the pretence so that she can have a good look around the house. Only when she investigates she remembers the past and memories come flooding back. It seems hard to see how Emily and Sasha can connect with each other but when they do it becomes very dark and intense. With all the twists and turns it e comes a very intense psychological thriller. A great read.
