A bit disappointing this book is I found the story quite long winded and boring . Which is a shame as I really like Casey Kelleher books but this one was not for me in afraid .
I love Casey's books so was looking forward to reading this. I wasn't disappointed. . Although it started quite slow I stuck with it and so glad I did as such a good ending that I wasn't expecting .Plenty of twists and turns, this was a dark psychological thriller but so well written A solid 4 star read.
This was so good! Sasha is missing 4 years of her childhood. She thinks going back to her childhood home can piece together her life. So when she’s mistaken for the nanny she takes the job. Maybe being in the home can piece together what’s missing. This family seems to be living the perfect life but maybe it’s not as perfect as it seems. Sasha has to protect the children because history has a way of repeating itself.
I didn’t see the twist after twist coming. This one definitely kept me on my toes until the shocking end !
Thank you so much Netgalley for the chance to read this advanced copy in exchange for a review!
I absolutely love psychology thrillers so I was very excited when I was approved for this read! Could not put it down!
I really enjoyed this! Slow burn, really keeps you guessing because you're given no context in the beginning. Did not see any of the twists coming and the ending was not rushed, which I appreciate.
There were a lot of characters to keep track of and you really had to pay attention when the POVs were switched, but you get the hang of it.
Extra little twist on the last page was great as well.
This was my first time reading a book by this author and I would definitely read more.
Being invited in to babysit kids without checking references first off sounds creepy
Back and forth between the 2 girls I couldn't figure out where Emily fit in...and as much as I wanted to know I couldn't do it. This book just wasn't for me. Stopped at 49%
Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.
Sasha has had a troubled childhood. She never thought that he fit in with her family. But when her mother dies, and she receives a letter from her. She finds out that she has been adopted. She decides to visit the house 64 Maple Street where she was born. But it is not the type of house that she was expecting.
When she knocks on the door to ask them if she can look around and brings some memories back. The woman who lives there. Celia mistakes her for a nanny to look after her two children. She doesn’t correct her and pretends to be the nanny just to get access to the house. But when she investigates the house, it brings back memories of the time as a child but with some of the times parts are missing because she blacks out.
Twenty years ago, Emily was convicted of drowning her son in the bath and then tried to bury him. The judge sentenced her to a psychiatric unit where she has been but now Emily seems to be getting better and she has now a flat of her own with nurses providing around the clock care. But is she better as she keeps hearing the crying girl and she won’t stop. But her carers Charlotte and Louise cannot hear her. Emily thinks that Louise is trying to mess up her recovery and confides her feelings to Charlotte.
Thank you Bookoutre for a copy ‘The Baby’s sisters secret’ by Casey Kelleher. At first, I wasn’t sure how this story was going to go. As it was two different stories and I wondered what the link was between the two. But as the story intwined. this became a tense slightly freaky, thriller. Especially regards to Sasha’s character. Getting revenge on what her mother did all those years ago. It also has a great twist at the end. 4 stars from me.
Review in progress and to come.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
Thank you #netgalley, #bookouture and #caseykelleher for the advanced copy of this book.
3.5 stars on this one
It started off slowly with different story lines and I couldn't figure out how they were connected. As I read, I thought I had it figured out. I was so wrong. There was a twist! Then another twist! Talk about whiplash! I wish there would have been more about how Sasha got to where she was to find Emily. How did she figure that out? Also Cecilia opening the door and just letting someone come in and take care of the kids? That was not so believable. I know it needed to fit into the storyline but I didn't believe that at part at all. I would have said heifer, show me your qualifications if you're going to be taking care of my kids. Anyway, slow to start but a page turner around 65% of the way through. Happy Reading!
I just reviewed The Babysitter's Secret by Casey Kelleher. #TheBabysittersSecret #NetGalley
4.5 stars. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not put it down. So many twists and turns, right up until the last SENTENCE! Amazing amazing amazing. Will check out more from this author
When Sasha’s mother died, Sasha wants to look around her childhood home but the current occupier, Cecilia, mistakes her for the new nanny. Sasha takes this as a sign to check out the house.
Emily has been released after serving time for a murder and is adjusting to life and how it’s changed since her incarceration. What do these two women have in common?
This was a dark twisted read which I enjoyed. Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Cecelia is angry, unpredictable, unstable. She is not the mother these children deserve. They are scared of her, and rightly so.

🚨MY Review 🚨
The Babysitter's Secret is a very. slow burn. I was thoroughly confused for half of the book. The story is told through two pov from Sasha and Emily. It took forever to figure out who Emily was and how she fit in! This book had a few twist that I didn’t see coming. I wanted to love this book however I just could not get it to it.
I just want to say Thank you to the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this story . I truly appreciate it.

A dark and chilling thriller, this is an engrossing story! Very well plotted to keep you guessing and well drawn characters, it’s really well written. I really enjoyed this read
Well this was a bit of a shocker! Casey Kelleher proves she’s once again able to deliver a twisty thriller that can surprise her readers with a jaw dropping and unforgettable story. I loved the dual POV of the characters-both of whom had secrets hidden in their pasts but how were they connected and what would happen when their lives collided? And trust me-you are never going to guess!!!!! I’m pretty good with plot twists and very few authors surprise me but I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING! So clever and genuinely shocking so I absolutely loved it!
The Babysitter's Secret was a wild ride for me. It started a bit slow, but it still kept me curious. Even though some of it was predictable, the ending really surprised me! I recommend going into it without knowing anything about it.
I have not read any of Casey Kelleher books before but I will certainly lookout for others now. Although I found the plot a bit confusing at first it all came together nicely and Sasha, Emily and Cecelias story has you gripped until the end.
This is an incredibly gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist that I just didn't see coming.
I would certainly recommend this if you are a fan of dark thrillers.
This book focuses on our three main characters Emily, Sasha, and Cecelia. Emily is a young woman who is slowly being drive mad by the crying baby next door. This poor child cries all night and nothing seems to be helping either it or poor Emily get some sleep. Cecelia is our new mother trying her best to make things work even though they don’t always come as easily to her as she things they should. Sasha on the other hand has had a lot of hardships in her life. She just lost her mother and then at the same time she finds out she was adopted as a child. The life that she thought she knew and had as now been turned completely upside down. So in trying to figure things out Sasha finds herself drawn back to the house where she had once grown up. Things start to keep off however when Sasha gets to the door because before she can explain who she is frazzled Cecelia answers and mistakes her for the new babysitter. Unable to voice that there has been a mistake Sasha decides to seize this moment as a chance to explore the home where she once lived and hopefully unlock some memories she has hidden away about her past. Now I’m not normally a fan of books with multiple points of view changes however this one was done very well and it was super easy for the reader to keep things organized which is the key. While each character has a very different story line taking place it was really interesting to try to figure out how they were all connected in the end. This was the first book that I’ve read by Casey Kelleher and I was very pleased. Her characters were strongly written, her plot was so vast but tied together seamlessly in the end, and her writing style made you sink into a work of her creating as you lose sense of everything around you. Overall I was thrilled and elated with this story. This is one thriller that will be on everyone’s to read list and every best seller list in no time and I’m so glad that I got the chance to check it out first. Not only will this book leave you raving about it to anyone who will listen it also will leave you breathless and haunt your dreams for many nights to come. Great read and with so many twists I couldn’t get enough. I really enjoyed every moment of this book and I cant wait until it is released and everyone else gets the chance to read this one of a kind masterpiece.
Casey Kelleher is yet to write a bad book.
This was a slow burner but a significant Point is that I did not see the twist coming.
Book really picks up in the second half.
Book is divided into easy chapters set out per character with their stories entwining.
I did find this book refreshing as often nowadays thrillers start to follow similar storyline’s.
Not my favourite Kelleher book, but the B you have so many more to look forward to after reading this!
When Sasha’s mum passes away she leaves behind a secret, a secret that means that everything Sasha ever believed about her life was a lie and she is determined to uncover the truth of who she really is and oh boy what a can of worms she is just about to open!
A whole cast of unreliable, and at times absolutely toxic and completely unlikeable characters jump out of the pages and right under your skin, they will implore you to listen to them, to believe their truth, they will tantalise, tease and they will twist and oh my goodness what a deliciously twisted novel this was!
As each little secret is slowly revealed and the truth uncovered you will find yourself thinking Aha! Only for another spanner to be thrown in the works.
Casey Kelleher ramps up the tension where needed, before lulling you into a false sense of security and then putting you through the wringer again and again! It’s dark, it’s devious, it’s unpredictable and it is completely unputdownable!
