Indigo Cove is the setting for this lovely summer read. Jessie went there years ago and had her first kiss. Years later after her Fiancé has an affair just before the wedding, her grandad and her decide to revisit Indigo Cove.

It’s a beautiful setting for a beautiful story about companionship, friendship and happiness.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.

I really enjoyed reading Summer at the Cornish Beach Cafe. It is a heartwarming. cozy and heartfelt story.
I loved the main character, Jessie. Her relationship and bond with her grandfather was just so endearing.
The slow burn romance between Jessie and Ashton was so sweet.
If you are in the mood for an uplifting story, you should think about picking up Summer at the Cornish Beach Cafe. Perfect reading for the summer!
I always enjoy Donna Ashcroft’s books and this was another one I’ll have to say is a favorite ❤️

This is a sweet story featuring main characters of grandfather & granddaughter returning to the place that he & his late wife honeymooned, and also where his granddaughter shared her first kiss with a boy who immediately ran off afterwards.
I enjoyed reading this book, full of second chances at love for the two generations. Some touching moments & ultimately a feel-good storyline. I would be interested to return to the Cornish town to catch up with the residents, including the owner of the cafe, so I hope there’s a sequel (or even better a series) planned.

Jessie and her grandfather George are both struggling - she's broken with her fiance and her grandmother has died- so a summer in Cornwall seems like it might help. But Jessie didn't expect a second chance romance but that's what happens. Ashton is in town as well but this time they are adults and mature so.....This is also a takes-a-village novel with good characters and a positive spirit. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Will make you smile.

I really enjoy reading this book, the description about Indigo Cave was so beautiful. Indigo Cave is special place for Jessie grandparents, special place for her too a memorable first kiss and the bitter hurt when Ashton run away after that. 14 years later she visit again with her grandpa, enjoyimg the vacation and memory lane of her grandparents honeymoon time. Reunion with Asthon not that good and i annoyed how Jessie always reminder Ashton how he run even after he apology. Ashton have his own problem, family who left him behind, sister he miss, i glad he has good people around to support him.

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

A lovely read, I loved how both Jessie and Ashton were struggling with the similar issues, and how they could identify and help the other, yet struggled to take their own advice and push forward. Elsie was amazing and her love for Ashton really showed, as did his for her, and it was her love and support that finally got through to Ashton and made him realise what he really wanted. A fantastic community was created and it was great to see everyone puzzling in the cafe.

"Summer at the Cornish Beach Café" was a very nice and light-hearted book, perfect as a summer read!

Indigo Cove, a lovely Cornish town, is the town were Jessie's grandparents spent their honeymoon. Since her grandmother passed away, and Jessie's fiancé broke up with her, why not spend the summer in this charming town with her grandfather? For him, it will be the occasion to rekindle old, cherished memories; for her, it should be a welcome break from a life that didn't suit her anymore.
But who could have thought they would meet such good friends in Indigo Cove, renewing old acquaintances and meeting friendly new people?

I loved all the characters, from the protagonists to the supporting characters. They all had great depth (which might be due to the fact that this book can be read as part of a series, hence why other characters are well developed), and showed a certain progression all along the book. They're all really attaching in their own way, even the grumpiest characters (looking at you, Ashton!), and I enjoyed how the author shapes characters depending on their life experience (a family abandon, a betrayal, a death, etc.) and make them grow on their own, as well as with the support of their community.

The location of the story is definitely a plus — I felt like I knew Indigo Cove pretty well, since some scenes keep happening in the same places (the café, the former hotel, etc.) and if it existed, I'd most certainly want to visit it!

Overall, a great, light summer romance that I would recommend!

This is such a sweet story about rediscovering yourself and understanding that family is not always the people you are related to.
Jessie and Ashton had a brief encounter years ago that left lasting impressions on them both. Neither of them has had an easy life, and a chance meeting will bring them face to face once again. This time, there will be no running away.
Great story with lots of emotions. Loved the characters - all unique but blend together so well.

Donna Ashcroft has always been a must read author of mine, since first reading her books, I snap up the chance of reading more. She has a way of writing characters that is really wholesome. All of the flaws they have, whether, inflicted by someone else or not, are explored in a beautiful way. Donna makes her characters look inside themselves and brings out their worth. Its something that everyone needs now and again.
This latest book is a lovely addition and has made me want nothing more than a big slab of Ella's cake and one of Elsies Old Fashioneds while making art and chatting and laughing with some new friends.

I love this author, she always writes such fabulously warm-hearted and romantic books! This book takes us to the pretty little Cornish seaside village of Indigo Cove. Jessie and her grandad George are taking a trip down memory lane. George, who has recently lost his wife, spent his honeymoon here, and Jessie had her first kiss here as a teenager! Unfortunately, Jessie's first love, after kissing her, ran off never to be seen again, and this has scarred poor Jessie for life! When she bumps into a local man on the beach, she realises it's Ashton, an older version of the teenage boy who ran away!

This was a delightful read! Everything about it was perfect! I love Jessie and her grandad, they had such a wonderful relationship. Jessie's personal story was quite sad, and her strength made me like her all the more. George's storyline was particularly emotional, with him remembering his honeymoon in Indigo Cove. Jessie's teenage love, Ashton was also very likeable, although I took a little time to warm to him, especially after he left Jessie on the beach all those years before! The reason why did does become apparent as the story moves on though, and it was enjoyable to watch everything fit into place as I read.

The location is just as delightful as the storyline, and I could picture myself in Indigo Cove as I read, feeling the sun's rays and dipping my toes in the sea! The storyline flowed along well and I found myself completely engrossed in it by only a few chapters in! It was a lovely light hearted read with some great characters and was filled with love, family, hope and forgiveness. Would definitely recommend!

Jessie takes her grandad to Indigo Cove where she spent many happy childhood holidays after she’s be jilted. However in her first night she encounters Ashton, her first love! She tries to forget about him by helping her grandfather get involved in a puzzle club in the local cafe. But of course fate had other ideas. Grandad has a fall and Ashton offers to put them up in his house which is where Jessie’s gran and grandad honeymooned when it was a hotel. Jessie and Ashton seem to be hitting it off and then someone unexpectedly turns up. Is Ashton a changed man? You’ll have to read it to find out! I loved this book. It made me feel warm inside.

I love Donna Ashcroft books as they take me away from my everyday life and the settings always make me feel as if I should be on a holiday.

This is one of those reads where you just immerse yourself in the life of the characters and enjoy the ride. That is not to say this is a frothy fun and games book as there is substance to it. It has heartbreak, romance, life changes, finding yourself and much more.

I loved this book and found it entertaining, heart-warming and almost real. I loved the characters and found it easy to read but still with enough depth and character to keep me interested.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read and review this book. I really enjoyed it.

Jessie goes on a memory trip with her grandfather where she bumps into Ashton, the first boy who broke her heart. But was it because he wasn’t interested in her, or because he was scared he would get his heart broken? Both Jessie and Ashton struggle with a lack of self-confidence and issues from their childhood. Can they work through them? Are they meant to be together? I loved the setting of Indigo Cove, and how Donna has created a cast of charming, multi-generational characters and used Jessie’s love of photography to illustrate how looking at things from a different perspective can change your outlook. The Puzzle Café is a fantastic idea, I wouldn’t mind visiting it! A sweet, heart-warming read.

This was a great read. Jessie takes her grandfather George back to Indigo Cove. He recently lost his wife and their honeymoon pictures and he wants Jessie to recreate the pictures for him.

Jessie has a chequered history with Indigo, she had her 1st kiss there to Ashton, a boy who set her insides on fire, but after kissing her looked at her and ran away never to be seen again.

Jessie and George move into a holiday cottage and as Jessie goes for a walk on the beach, the 1st person she bumps into is Ashton.

I really enjoyed the story and it is a reminder that you shouldnt make assumptions about people and that sometimes second chances can be wonderful.

An enjoyable and easy read. A bit repetitive in parts (but I suppose it is all about getting back your confidence) but it was still a nice read and storyline.

One thing I couldn’t get around was when Ashton and Jessie were merely friends and then next second they were together? That felt a bit rushed. But apart from that I enjoyed the inclusion of puzzles, the Look Out House sounded idyllic as well as the location.

Overall a lovely read

Wasn't sure about this one to begin with but the fabulous characters saved it. Would love to read books on the stories of some of the older characters mentioned.

I received a free copy of, Summer at the Cornish Beach Cafe, by Donna Ashcroft, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. After being left at the alter Jessie is heart broken and wants a new start. Jessie decides to go to Indigo Cove to start a fresh, but her childhood crush Ashton is also there. Will Jessie find love again? This was a good read, a but heavy for a beach read, but good.

Heartfelt, lovely read. A 17-year-old Jesse Levine kisses a young nineteen year Ashton on a beach in Cornwall, who immediately turns around and flees. Years later she returns to the small town in Indigo Bay with her recently widowed Grandfather only to run into the same man who kissed her all those years ago.

I really liked the characters here. Ashton is vulnerable, and very real after being abandoned by his parents as a teenager. Jessie is battling her own demons of self-confidence imposed by years of belittlement by her step-mother. The other characters are quirky and fun and better still, there is a lot of puzzle-building at the cafe.

This is a great novel by Donna Ashton. Recommend.
