OMG I loved this book so much!!!
King Xavier of Maynet doesn't believe in love: he's had enough experience to know it can't be trusted. But he does believe in duty and knows he'll choose a wife as tradition dictates. However, when his late brother's widow joins him on a month-long royal tour of Maynet he develops feelings for her deeper than anything he's ever known or believed possible, and he finds himself spending more time thinking about her than any prospective bride.
Princess Katerina won't ever risk her heart again after the humiliation of her marriage. Instead, she's dedicating her life to the betterment of her beloved adopted country, Maynet. Yet she finds herself attracted to Xavier in a way that threatens all her careful plans, and the more time they spend together the stronger their connection gets. As time runs out for Xavier to choose a wife, will he realize what he feels for Katerina is love and that she's more important than any tradition?
I adore this story right from the beginning. The sexual tension, the aghast, THE LONGING. So well written and engaging! I couldn´t stop reading and finished it in one sitting. I was obsessed with both MC. Xavier is so considerate and sweet. And Kat is adorable, but strong and resilient. It was so obvious that they were perfect for each other! I wanted a bit more of spicy, but there’s a enough tension to make my happy.
I highly recommend to read this books in order. It will be a totally different experience and a really marvelous one.

I love a good royal romance and this one is very good, a fabulous debut, the characters are very lovable and real as we journey to Maynet and meet King Xavier and Princess Katerina, as they fight their emotions and pull to each other for reasons that they both feel strongly about.

Xavier is widowed and does not believe in love at all, he has his reasons but it is time that he remarried to get an heir but he must choose carefully it must be someone who will not fall in love and of course it must be someone from a neighbouring country as per the treaty rights, but when he asks is widowed sister in law Princess Katerina to join him on the royal tour, time spent together plays havoc with his emotions.

Katerina was a young eighteen year old when she married Prince Max and it was not a marriage to be enjoyed, but she fell in love with Maynet and after Max’s Death she stays and continues her role with the royal family and vowing never to marry again and be put through what she was put through with Max, when she agrees to attend the tour with Xavier she knows that this will put her heart in danger as she already has such deep feelings for this strong caring and loving man.

This is very well written romance, it digs deep into the emotions of both Xavier and Katerina and shows how their pasts can make them feel about their futures, a beautiful story with lots of fabulous dialogue that sees them open up and break down the walls they have both built and sees them journey to a fabulous HEA. This is one that I would recommend to any romance lover.

My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my digital copy to read and review.

Very sweet romance between a king and his late brother's wife. The characters, Xavier and Kat, have seen more than their fair share of tragedy and both are very wary of love. This was shorter, had great pacing, and though it was a "cleaner" romance, there was plenty of heat.

Well, the chemistry between the King and Princess fairly melted my kindle! Xavier and Kat are so in love unknown to each other, but there is too much standing between them, starting with Kat being his widowed sister-in-law. Then, we are told Xavier is a widower who refused to love his deceased wife! Xavier does not believe in love. Love ruins families causing too many complications. Kat refuses to marry again without it. The close relationship between them and the forced time spent together provides lots of opportunity to figure this love/marriage thing out. Read and enjoy this fun romance as the King and his Princess scorch their way to their HEA.

This was a pretty good story. Princess Katerina was a widow to King Xavier. Her hasband had not treated her well but the loved the country of Maynet and didn't leave him. When a neighboring King asked for her hand she shuddered and said NO. Her was a old creep. Xavier knew he wouldn't take it well and they worked out what to do. His advisors were pressuring him to take a wife from another country and he just couldn't get into it. Mostly because he wanted Katerina. They certainly had a lot of mistepps in their relationship and Katerina even left the country for awhile. He finally realized he loved her (when he didn't really believe in love before Kat). A good story worth reading

2.5 Stars Falling for the King by Clare Miles was a royal romance. The book was a quick and easy read, and overall fairly enjoyable. I liked that the novel didn’t lay Xavier’s and Katerina’s pasts out right away, but rather waited until they shared those stories with each other. Some of the dialogue was a little bit awkward at times, and both characters a bit immature/not the most emotionally intelligent.
