Thank you Kensington Books and NetGalley for the ARC. IYKYK my reviews are always honest. I really enjoyed book #1 in this series. This is your standard, 'old lady' police procedural. I really like Laurel Snow. She's a baddie but without the chip on her shoulder.

What an exciting ride! This is my first time reading anything by this author and I really would like to read more. The main characters are very likeable and I definitely would love to see how their future progresses. The ending was a bit of a surprise. It was hard to pinpoint who the killer might be, but it wasn't who I ever thought. Definitely worth the read for fans of thrillers.

Rebecca Zanetti amps up FBI profiler Laurel Snow’s personal and professional pressure in You Can Die, Laurel Snow #3, when her biological father returns to town. Zanetti deftly develops her complex, relatable, and compelling characters with absorbing interactions. Her descriptive, vibrant, and active writing style and a disturbing and intriguing mystery plot draw you in with natural-sounding dialogue and detailed worldbuilding that keeps you turning the pages trying to guess who the killer might be. Her action scenes are thrilling, suspenseful, and well-constructed. Zanetti writes and develops the mystery and suspense elements so intricately that it’s always surprising who the killer is and their motive.
I love how Zanetti continues to develop and evolve Laurel’s relationship with Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck River through sweet, humorous, and sexy banter and interactions and steamy, intimate, and emotional love scenes that contribute to the characters and the story’s evolution—without distracting from the suspense/mystery plot. They’ve officially started dating, which is new for Laurel, and she’s experiencing insecurity for the first time. Complete opposites—they get and balance each other. Laurel’s coolly analytical, while Huck’s impulsive and fiery. Huck respects Laurel, offers her emotional support, and gives her the room she needs to be herself. Laurel tries to be more emotionally open and makes room in her life for Huck, which isn’t easy for her.
Her psychotic half-sister, Abigail’s insistence on meddling in Laurel’s personal life and relationship with Huck doesn’t make it any easier. Abigail cannot stay out of Laurel’s personal life. She keeps getting into Laurel’s head about whether they’re right for each other, whether Huck and her will last, and trying to break them up. She’s creepy AF. I love how Huck and his dog are like, “Nope, don’t like or trust her at all!”
But it is deeply frustrating how much Abigail gets away with. She relentlessly inserts herself into Laurel’s investigations, demanding her attention at every turn. Laurel continues searching for proof of Abigail’s connection to the cases she’s solved since returning to Genesis Valley, only to discover that, yet again, Abigail is connected to the serial murders Laurel is investigating. Then, unexpectedly, Laurel’s biological father, Zeke Caine, returns, claiming he wants to reestablish a relationship with Laurel despite the circumstances under which she was conceived. So Laurel has to try and keep him away from her mom to minimize worsening the trauma he’s already caused her.
With her biological father’s return, Laurel has to deal with two malignant narcissists. Laurel’s troubled half-sister’s machinations complicate Laurel’s determination to uncover the truth about her biological father’s past. His being found as a potential victim of the serial killer just makes things worse because it’s unclear whether Abigail is involved. I feel Laurel needs more wins against her sister. As a gifted, respected profiler, she should be able to get inside her sister’s head just like Abigail does hers, even if she’s not a psychopathic killer and malignant narcissist. Laurel knows who and what her sister is and doesn’t trust Abigail. But she seems to get blindsided and outmatched too often.
The pacing and story for this one feel different. It’s a bit more personal and involves more personal interaction between the characters, especially Laurel and Huck. While there’s a little less action, the action scenes are still top-notch. Each novel builds upon the first one’s plot, so reading them in order is helpful. But Zanetti provides enough information within each book for readers to follow the story relatively easily. You Can Die is a dark, thrilling, suspenseful, steamy, romantic, fast-paced read.

FBI profiler Laurel Snow is once again on the hunt for a serial killer with the help of her FBI team and Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers. Besides dealing with that, she also has to deal with her psychotic half-sister and the return of her father. This is the 3rd installment in this series, and it does not disappoint. I was blown away with who the killer was and that's always a good thing (in my opinion). I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

You Can Die by Rebecca Zanetti was good. It was technically book three in the Laurel Snow series but I read it as a standalone. It had well developed, interesting characters with only more mystery. The balance of mystery-suspense and romance was my favorite thing about this novel. Romance always makes me more invested. In a very good way it felt like Criminal Minds. Overall enjoyable and I’ll be reading the rest of the series!
Thanks Kensington Books via NetGalley.

You Can Die is the third book in Rebecca Zanetti's "Laurel Snow" series and it was just as good as the other two! There is a serial killer on the loose in the Pacific Northwest. One with a chilling MO-shoving candy down the throats of their male victims. As Huck and Laurel investigate the murders they have to navigate Laurel's sociopath sister and their new relationship, and when Laurel's estranged father becomes a victim things become even more complicated.
I loved being able to see Laurel and Huck's characters and relationship develop. Everything that I loved about the last book was evident in this one. It was a thrilling ride and the author does such a wonderful job at keeping the mystery twisting and turning. The thrill keeps you engaged the entire time. Rebecca Zanetti has done it again and made a thrilling ride of a mystery.
I do think that you should read at least the second book before reading this one, otherwise you miss out on the relationship dynamics between all the characters. This is a personal opinion though. Also, I was not a huge fan of how a relationship/family topic was approached. Laurel had an opinion at the beginning of the book and then completely changed her mind, and it didn't really seem realistic. This is a rather small thing though, and I still enjoyed the book a lot.
Overall, I continue to enjoy this series. I can't wait to see what is in store next for Huck and Laurel. Rebecca Zanetti is a go-to author for me these days and this book is just more evidence as to why that is so.

Thank you NetGalley and Kensington Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The third book in this wonderful series. I have read the previous 2 books in this series and enjoyed them too. I love Laurel Snow, she is intelligent, witty and a really interesting heroine.
I love her and Huck's dynamic together. The twists and turns in this book are really intruiging.
Rebecca Zanetti is a talented writer. A great read!

This book is another true masterpiece written by Rebecca Zanetti! I just finished listening to the story, and my mind is still reeling and trying to process everything I just listened to. The way Rebecca Zanetti writes just grabs the reader's attention instantly, and the reader becomes fully invested in what is happening. I feel like Rebecca Zanetti is magical with the way she crafts her storyline and weaves various events together to ensure that her readers feel like they are part of the story, I was not able to figure out where the story was going and many times I am able to figure some if not all of the plot line, however with Rebecca Zanetti stories I usually am stumped which is nice!
Laurel Snow is such a wonderfully complex character, and I just love her. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching her grow and change throughout this series.
Abigail Crane is extremely terrifying!! I have no idea how Laurel will deal with her sister, but I'm definitely afraid, yet eagerly waiting to see what happens. I just hope that Laurel is able to, for lack of better wording, 'take Abigail out' before Abigail can cause even more damage!
I can't wait for Laurel and Abigail's 'father' to have his comeuppance! That certainly will be a scary and interesting situation. I have no doubt that Rebecca Zanetti will write something that will amaze all of her fans!
And, of course, what can I say about Captain Huck Rivers except yummy! He is also a complex character that I absolutely love and adore! I love the way he interacts with Laurel, and I am looking forward to how things will progress in the next book. I can't say more than that because I will not give away spoilers!
in a nutshell, this was a phenomenal story, so well written and plotted out, character development was phenomenal, I think I definitely felt all the feels, and I highly recommend this series and literally everything that Rebecca Zanetti has written!! If this is not your genre, then look at other books written by her because she writes in several genres and truly does an amazing job. Rebecca Zanetti is a very gifted and talented storyteller!
I read parts of this book on my Kindle and listened to portions in Audible, and both ways are phenomenal! I even purchased the book in paperback, so whichever way is your reading preference, you won't be disappointed!!

4.5 Stars
The third book in Laurel Snow, You Can Die sees Laurel Snow on the hunt for a serial killer as men start turning up dead outside places of safety. A compelling suspenseful read it had me riding the case with the characters. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend this book and series to readers.

“You Can Die” is a very aggressive book title, but I swear it makes sense for the series!
If you didn’t read “You Can Run” and “You Can Hide” by Rebecca Zanetti, go run to wherever you buy books. This is an edge of your seat thriller and you’re lucky that you could binge the first two right before book three, “You Can Die“, is released. The first two books are on Kindle Unlimited as of this post!
Our main character is Laurel Snow, an FBI agent with a well beyond average intelligence. She has an identic memory, a genius IQ, and an extremely rare condition in her eyes that draws way too much attention. Laurel has a special charm to her that comes from her inability to decipher emotions in others. She doesn’t always pick up on subtlety and sarcasm. Fortunately for her, friends and family are very direct with her. In fact, if not for the love of her family growing up, she might have turned out a lot like her half-sister Abigail.
How do you handle a super intelligent psychopath for a sister?
Laurel is certain that her half-sister Abigail is responsible for murder. The struggle she has is being able to find evidence that proves it. Abigail is manipulative of those around her, and always one step ahead of Laurel. She keeps involving herself in Laurel’s life in appropriate ways. She drops little breadcrumbs that keep Laurel forever suspicious of her, but Abigail is much too brilliant to leave simple evidence behind.
In “You Can Die“, Laurel is hunting a new serial killer that is leaving their male victims outside of church buildings. All the while, she never stops looking at Abigail’s actions. The investigation into her sister is always continuing in the backdrop. In true crazy sister fashion, there’s plenty of annoying hints that Abigail drops along the way.
“You Can Die” was a thrilling extension of Laurel Snow’s story chasing killers in the snowy Pacific Northwest. I appreciate that each book provides a level of resolution while continuing the storyline of the characters we love and hate. Naturally, a reader wants to be surprised when the killer is revealed. Zanetti delivers that shocking punch of surprise once again, and it’s why I will pick up every one of her books. She never lets me down!

This series just goes from strength to strength.
Another absolutely stellar heart-pounding, edge of your seat read from Zanetti.
Can't wait for more!

Laurel Snow is at it again! This story is fast-paced and action packed as Laurel and her team try to take down the broken heart killer. There are a lot of twists and turns as Laurel gets some unexpected surprises in her life and her sister Abigail is still up to know good. My only issue is that the blurb didn't match the story. Other than that, I really enjoyed this suspenseful mystery.

This is the third book in the Laurel Snow series from Rebecca Zanetti. I really was so excited to get my hands on this book and devour it! I love the dynamic between the heroine and the hero. They just… work. I love that the heroine’s sister is such a complex crazy character. This was really an enjoyable read. I recommend it and the other 2 in the series. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

This is book 3 in the Laurel Snow series and while it could be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading it as part of the series for a better read. Men are dying in the Pacific Northwest, their bodies found near churches, charities, and counseling centers--each with valentine candy hearts shoved down their throats. They're good men with families and community ties--or so they seem until Laurel Snow and her team begin to investigate. Then the case takes a shockingly personal turn when the father she's never met, a former pastor, turns up among the dead. Now, besides solving her father's murder, Laurel is on the hunt to discover the truth of his past. Complicating things is Laurel's troubled half-sister, Abigail, a brilliant sociopath determined to prove that they've both inherited their father's malignant narcissism. Assisting Laurel is Washington Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers, a dangerous loner whose reliance on gut instinct puts him at odds with Laurel's coolly analytic approach. But the choice may be moot when the killer hones in on Huck's own dark secrets--putting him and Laurel squarely in the crosshairs.
Let me just say, if you are expecting a lot of romance as per usual with this author-then this book probably is going to disappoint you. It is very light (in my opinion) on the romance but the thriller and suspense portion is definitely up there and well worth the read! Laurel is this super smart woman who is just trying to live her life when these bodies keep showing up. I really like her character but I don't always feel like I connect to her as well I would hope. There is a lot of action and suspense, and I didn't see coming the ending. The writing is, as usual, excellent. I just can't figure out if it's me that can't connect with Laurel or what it is. Either way, I will still be reading the series because now I have to know how it all turns out with her family!

Love this series! Laurel is investigating a serial killer whose first victim is her admin’s ex-husband. As victims pile up, her team is working to figure out the connection as she gets some shocking personal news and deals with her evil sister and her long lost father returns.
Great mystery and love all the supporting characters, especially Huck! Can’t wait for more in this series!
Thanks to the publisher for a review copy via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Get ready for an emotional roller coaster. Laurel Snow is back in the Pacific Northwest chasing serial killers. This time murder hits close to home when the victim is her office manager's estranged husband, and the body was found by his daughter. Where murder and Laurel are, her half-sister Abigail is close behind and this time she's dating one of Laurel's rivals in the FBI.
Laurel should rightfully have excused herself from this case since it comes pretty close to home particularly when her biological father shows up on the scene and promptly becomes a victim. Ably assisted by her boyfriend Huck Rivers and his dog, Laurel just needs to prove that this latest serial killing spree is master minded by her sociopathic sister as a way of grabbing and holding on to Laurel's attention.
Proving her theories is not going to be easy and it seems beyond the scope of this book but nevertheless Laurel has a killer to bring to justice and murders to solve while trying to figure out a relationship with the estimable Captain Huck Rivers.
Supported by a brilliant cast of characters introduced in the previous books in the series, the author keeps readers guessing and working the clues to solve the case. An excellent book that will keep you at the edge of your seat as you go through the gamut on the emotional range.

"You Can Die" by Rebecca Zanetti is an electrifying rollercoaster of a thriller that had me hooked from the first page. Abigail, a character unlike any other, sends shivers down your spine – with a sister like her, who needs enemies? As the story unfolded, a sense of unease settled in me, and I couldn't help but feel a genuine fear while reading. There's an unsettling quality to Abigail, something inherently sinister that's accentuated by her uncanny ability to manipulate those around her. This makes her not just a villain, but a truly chilling presence.
The storytelling prowess of Rebecca Zanetti shines brilliantly in this book. The narrative pulls you in, refusing to let go as you navigate a world where danger lurks around every corner. Huck and Laurel, the protagonists, are characters I quickly grew attached to. Their journey is captivating, and their chemistry is palpable. It's impossible not to root for them as they face the challenges thrown their way.
One of the book's strengths lies in its ability to evoke a range of emotions. From fear to anticipation, to moments of happiness and relief, the story takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that leaves you craving more. The unresolved issues surrounding Laurel's sister and father add layers of complexity to the plot, ensuring that the series maintains its grip on your imagination.
Rebecca Zanetti masterfully blends suspense, intrigue, and a touch of romance to craft a tale that's not easily forgotten. "You Can Die" is a compelling addition to a highly recommended series, and I eagerly await the resolution of the conflicts that have been masterfully woven into the narrative. If you're in search of a thrilling read with well-drawn characters and an enthralling plot, I wholeheartedly recommend diving into the world of "You Can Die" – a true gem in the realm of suspense fiction.

If you love romantic thrillers, then YOU CAN DIE will be a book you want in your hands.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
My Selling Pitch:
Do you want a generic romantic crime thriller?
Pre-reading:
The fact that I have one-starred both of the last two books and they continue to send me the series and I continue to read it is wild. It’s entertaining garbage. I’ll give it that.
Thick of it:
I think this is the last book in the series, so I’m ready for a showdown with her serial killer priest daddy and her sister.
I definitely copy and pasted my character cheat sheet from my last review:
Dad’s a rapist priest and missing.
Half-brother her half-sister killed after he was the serial killer in book one.
Bestie named Kate whose children she somehow employs for her FBI field office
Monty fish and wildlife captain
Walter Smudgeon FBI partner
I’m sorry what in the alliteration is her name?
I don’t know what a nose guard is.
This bitch still hasn’t made it to Target to buy clothes? It’s been three books.
I mean she’s 40. I think it’s fair to assume it’s not her first day on the job
The what forest
This case is such a huge conflict of interest. There’s no way they would be allowed to take it.
Why do both women have K names? Don’t do that to me. Everyone’s already VV.
congenial
Wow, two flats in one sentence.
Totes adorbs- how old is this woman?
Is Laurel pregnant?
The lawyer is sleeping with her client.
What fucking weird dialogue.
Wow, so much slut shaming.
infracaninophile
This author really called him an alpha male with her whole chest like that was supposed to be appealing.
I don’t think poking the spider is a phrase lmao.
They’re gonna swap places and frame her sister for murder?
These people have the comebacks of middle schoolers.
Oh my god, they're still fat-shaming this poor man three books in.
They’re talking so much about her being in two places at once, the book’s convinced me that they're about to pull a parent trap.
Don’t call women females.
Just eat her out on the counter, you loser.
Toxic masculinity is only logical, guys.
The dumped officer is the one who did it. (Very wrong, Samantha.)
The lawyers made her boyfriend work extra long on Valentine’s Day so now she’s murdering them because he broke up with her. (very wrong.)
This author makes sure we always know the fashion.
belgard
adroit
Take a shot every time this book brings up lattes.
You just know she’s gonna be attacked on the case and the doctor will be like lol good news mom and baby are fine, and they’ll be like what baby? And the audience will be like y’all are awful detectives. (wrong again.)
Balderdash
ackamarackus
This man just carrying loose condoms in his pockets lol.
Girl, I’m just saying the second her name was given in the text, I said she dunnit. (She did not dunnit. Why was she in this book so abruptly and randomly?)
I was very wrong she just has bonkers dialogue.
I thought this was the end of the series, but maybe it’s not? But if it is, they just abandoned a lot of plot points. I don’t know how they’re going to continue the series’ naming theme though if it goes on.
Post-reading:
This series is so bad. It's basically Bones fan fiction. The author continues to body-shame people. She writes an alpha male love interest like that's supposed to be appealing. Read the room, ma'am.
The books read like a weekly procedural episode. The crimes aren't especially graphic or well thought out. This town has so many serial killers working in and around law enforcement. We're still dragging out her serial killer family storyline. The romance is underdeveloped. All of the investigations in this series have huge conflicts of interest. They have to be illegal.
Look, nothing about this series is good, but it is mindless nonsense you can read quickly.
Who should read this:
So bad it’s funny book fans
Bucket romantic thriller fans
Do I want to reread this:
No
Similar books:
* The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison-if you want an FBI series read this one
* Dark Places by Gillian Flynn-murder investigation with evil family members
* No Home for Killers by E. A. Aymar-siblings solve a murder
* Five Survive by Holly Jackson-corrupt family thriller
* Killing Me by Michelle Gagnon-murderous sibling serial killer
* A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder-crime thriller, cozy because it's YA, but VERY dark for a YA

What can I say, I love this series. Another great mystery in this series. Surprising things happen in this book both work related and personal for Laurel. Laurel and her team do a great job trying to figure out who the killer is. I was surprised by who it was though after it was revealed, I shouldn't have been. This book took me longer to read than I thought it would only because life got in the way. I tried not putting this book down everytime I picked it up because it is that good.
