A lovely enemies-to-lovers romance. Casey Maitland loves what she does for a living, number and financials are her thing. But she wants more, or least she thinks she does because mainly because she wants to impress her more artsy dad and the legacy of her late mother. So a new creative job opens up at her workplace and she applies for it. She and her friends think it’s a slam dunk but unfortunately the position is given to someone else - Alex Harrison, who also happens to be the board chairman’s son. So she decides to hate him from the start and it should be easy to except….he’s just so smart and charming and handsome and likable. And then their colleagues notice their tension and decide to put them in a work project together and then the sparks fly for better or worse!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for sharing this ARC with me in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved Love Interest by Clare Gilmore. This is the first novel I read from the author, and I will be reading more from her in the future! I will definitely recommend this book to the readers at my library. It is well written, has a balanced amount of romance, spicy, and humour. I also loved reading about the digital media industry and finance.

This was a very good book, although the finance talk was a lot a lot of the time.
I absolutely loved the food allergy representation, it's something that I don't think I've ever seen before and because I have a deadly peanut allergy, made me feel really seen.
I pretty much loved Alex's character from the first interaction in the elevator which also doesn't happen that often. Reading his backstory and learning about his character really just set everything into stone for me and my love for his character.
I loved reading about the relationships throughout the book, the familial and friendships especially.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Griffin for an eARC of this book.

I loved Love Interest! To be perfectly honest, I’m a sucker for a workplace romance so I went into this with very high expectations. I thought it started a little slow and it did take me a little while to get really invested in the story, but by 25% I was invested. I thought it was very enjoyable to read a story where the main characters were rivals but still seemed to respect one another, without it being cheesy. The last three quarters of the story were very well paced, but I actually found myself wishing we saw more of Alex and Casey interacting at work outside of meetings. In general this was a great read that I will most likely pick up again!

This was an adorable rom-com read! I found most of the characters to be extremely realistic and relatable.
I am typically a thriller reader, but sprinkle in romance when I need a break from the murders and mysteries. This book the perfect read for that. It even had its own workplace mystery that I found myself trying to figure out before Casey.
I would have preferred a slower burn at the beginning of Casey and Alex’s relationship. The enemies phase of their relationship almost wasn’t long enough for me to consider this an “enemies to lovers” trope, more so just a workplace romance. Overall, I feel this was a very engaging debut novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and look forward to reading future novels by this author.
*Special thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC, which I received in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are my own.

I loved the premise of this book. It even had a nod to the "one bed trope" that I love! Casey and Alex start off on a rocky foot but soon find that they have more common ground than they realize. the push and pull of these two are well-written. There was no miscommunication between them that caused problems; it was real issues that kept them from each other. Casey's job was a part of her but did not make her as a character hard to understand if you weren't financially minded. This book kept me turning pages to see how everything would shake out.

Casey loves her job working in finance at a magazine but still puts her name forward for a project manager position. When she doesn’t get the job, she unsurprisingly doesn’t immediately warm to the successful candidate, Alex (who just happens to be related to the chairman of the board). Alex and Casey clash frequently at work until they are forced to work closely on a project together.
What I loved:
-enemies to lovers
-workplace romance
-characters felt mature, good communication
-friend group
-workplace scenes (video production, comments)
-good character development with clear backstories
This was a very enjoyable read! I loved both Alex and Casey as characters and immensely enjoyed seeing them get together. They had great banter and chemistry.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reading copy!

This was a great debut and I really enjoyed it! It was a workplace romance, and I feel like the romance was a secondary plot. As someone who works in corporate America, its always fun to see how it is portrayed in stories. And I love the representation of women in STEM and management. Highly recommend picking this title uP!

Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Clare Gilmore for the eARC!
This book was SO charming. The characters were loveable, the story was captivating, and the romance was cute. This book did a really nice job of creating multidimensional characters, and I really felt like I knew them by the end of the story.

Well this was a solid little workplace romance that caught and held my attention throughout.
I really liked the realistic balance that was struck between being instantly attracted to someone, but being partly in denial about it. There was something about the way that this one was written that felt genuine in its delivery and how the relationship developed. It allowed space for the immediate spark and attraction, without trying too hard to force the spice and have things progress too quickly. I love me some good banter, and this is not disappoint on that front - those quick little exchanges and interactions really help with the build-up, and ultimate delivery.
As per usual, I liked the side characters and what they brought to the story, and the representation of the characters and a variety of relationships did not go unnoticed by me.
It was a fast and satisfying read, that pulled me out of my own life for a little while. What more could you want?

This was a really cute rom-com about a workplace romance. I loved both Alex and Casey’s characters. The romance and their work both shared the spotlight, which at times I would get a little confused about some of the business-y things being said, but it was enjoyable! I will say the enemies to lovers goes 0 to 100…Casey only hates him because they went for the same job, but that seems to dispel very quickly. Their love connection was really cute, but I felt it for sure the strongest at the end in London. Personally it was a little slow in the beginning, but I really enjoyed it towards the end! Overall this was such a great debut novel and I would definitley read more by this author!

I just revieved an ARC of Love Interest by Clare Gilmore and #NetGalley and I am so glad I did. This book is all the perfect, feel good fun of this genre.
Casey, our loveable, nerdy, slightly insecure, but wholesomely good protagonist is such a relatable character who is a pleasant mix of funny and serious. She struggles with some awesome dilemmas and gains better understanding to herself throughout the book. She is sweet and I found myself inwardly cheering for her.
Alex is all tortured teddy bear wrapped up in a charismatic package. The book reads as an enemy to lovers trope but with much more content. Super fun, fast read.

Really enjoyed this (semi) enemies to lovers workplace romance. I usually don’t love an enemies to lovers romance but this one was light on the actual “enemies” part and things progressed with plenty of communication and understanding. This story has personal depth, emotional growth, mutual respect, clear communication, career growth and plenty of enjoyable moments. The cast of characters were delightful and interesting. The story played out well and I was happy to read it!

I LOVED this book. I absolutely devoured it. This is a book that I’m going to be thinking of and remembering fondly for a long time and will probably (definitely) need to reread it since it was that good.
Casey Maitland has just gotten turned down for a new job at her company and learns that the guy who got it, Alex Harrison, is the CEO’s son. She spends the next month or so hating him on principle, but then slowly gets to know him and finds that they fit together better than she thought. There are many hurdles they have to go through together - problems at their company and secrets to go along with that, family and father issues for Alex, and most of all, knowing that their relationship has an end date due to Casey’s long desire to transfer to the company’s London branch.
At first this book felt a lot like The Hating Game with the co-worker enemies to lovers, but then it developed into something much more unique and beautiful. The narration was great, the writing style was amazing. I loved the side characters and their own quirks (especially Miriam and Brijesh!) and love love loved Casey and Alex’s love story.
This book was honestly such a joy to read. I loved it so much. Such an amazing debut novel from a talented author. I’m so excited to see what she has coming next!!
Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Clare Gilmore for the eARC!

This is absolutely my new favorite book. It was written so well, the balance between the workplace drama, the romance, Casey finding her stride and Alex finding his was done so well. I am a sucker for a workplace romance so obviously I knew I was going to like this, and it was just so much better than I could have imagined. I loved every part of it.
The characters, and not just Casey and Alex, has so much depth to them. All the relationships were so important. The way Casey and Alex spoke to each other. They made sure that they knew they were important, to each other and otherwise.
They decided on casual, she was leaving in a few months anyway and he had other plans. But the way it was literally never causal for either of them?? Casey specifically was trying so hard to convince herself that their whole relationship was causal, that they weren’t dating, and she was keeping a secret from him so they couldn’t be serious?? Except they WERE. And they were so freaking good together. “You’re my dream girl”. The way Alex SAW her, and not just because she wears her heart on her sleeve.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC in exchange for an honest review!! I preordered this before I even got an ARC because I knew I was going to love it. Needless to say I am VERY excited to have this in my hands come October.

Love Interest was a bit more serious than I expected in a good way. I loved getting to know the characters and seeing how the story developed

Fun read that I had trouble putting down. Loved all the characters, ver descriptive locales, and the story flowed well for me.
Surprised to read that this is a debut, very well written in my opinion.
Would definitely like more from the author and possible further from this story line (maybe a book for Miriam 😁
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC

This book was really cute. I liked the MC’s a lot, and their love story was sweet. The Condé Nast-like publisher setting was interesting as well. Knocking down one star because I feel like the climax and resolution were a bit rushed, the story dragged a little at times, and I feel like the author really wanted the reader to know her support of various social issues, which became distracting for me. Overall, a fun read, and I would recommend.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press for my ARC!

This was such a fantastic debut! I loved the concept of the workplace romance, and Casey and Alex were such fun characters. I loved their banter and dynamic and was rooting them from the very beginning. I love Casey's side quest to find herself, I think that is such a great thing to see in a MC and enjoyed getting to watch her growth throughout the story.

I loved this book.
Casey works in finance. She recently applied for a new job at the company, but Alex is hired instead.
I thought the workplace aspect was interesting. They work at a media company in NYC that oversees different magazines, YouTube channels etc. This leads to some fun content.
The author does a good job of describing the different locations in this book so that you really get a feel for them and what the characters are experiencing.
The character development is phenomenal. There is so much personal growth. They each have fleshed out backgrounds. Their work and personal lives are detailed, so it really feels like we're getting the full picture. There is some spice in this one. The romance was so sweet and beautiful. I was so happy for them.
I highly recommend it if you're looking for a good enemies to lovers or workplace romance.
I look forward to reading more by this author.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher, St Martin's Press, for allowing me to read an e-arc in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
