From the very start nothing is as it seems in this book. It takes the reader on a roller coaster ride while the main character is on the run from the police. Really a thrilling read.
I love a good mystery! This was just that a great mystery with crime that dives into the world of advertising. I love a book with a kidnapping with high stakes bets behind it. This was a great story that delivered on the twists! I would highly recommend!
I was thoroughly impressed by this thrilling page-turner. As the protagonist, Sam, navigates through a dangerous situation after his Chief Financial Officer is taken hostage and a brutal murder follows, I couldn't help but feel invested in his fate. The author's intricate knowledge of the corporate world is clearly showcased, adding a layer of realism to the story. The writing is top-notch, with plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this book to any fan of the thriller genre.
The Signatory is a good thriller set in the unlikely world of an Australian advertising agency. The characters are interesting and the reader quickly becomes immersed in a complex plot.
Sam Pride sells his business to a US conglomerate for a lot of money and life looks good. But then his Chief Finance Officer goes missing and is killed. Sam finds himself drawn into a plot of corporate espionage, fraud and murder. And now he and his family are at risk - but who exactly are the enemy? Sam tries to track down the source of his friend's death, finding himself in Chicago at corporate headquarters. But who can he trust?
Overall this is a good read, with a few twists and unexpected betrayals. If anything, Sam's reactions to the extreme situation he finds himself in are a little underplayed - but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the novel.
I was so excited by this premise but I really struggled. It felt slow and I couldn't get into it
I also had a pretty badly edited pre release which was a struggle to read and wasn't available on kindle so that put me off a bit too. The overall premise is good, the plot progression is slow and I t just didn't hook me at all. I can't even tell you why, just not for me I guess. Readable but maybe one for those who prefer the character led novel?
The cover & premise were intriguing & I had been looking forward to reading the book.
However, I'm sorry to say I couldn't get into the book. It was slow & so much language, I just couldn't get past all the negatives to hopefully find a positive...
I was able to preview this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
This is not my typical read. It’s more of a crime story than a thriller. It’s a good book it starts a little slow but the pace picks up. If you enjoy crime novels this is a good book. It’s a story about Sam. Sam sells his business for a nice profit, his CFO gets kidnapped. A document is requested for his return. Sam and his wife end up on the run from the police and other individuals from the company that bought them out.
The cover was enticing and unusual- I had the thought that the book would be exciting from that alone, I did enjoy it but was disappointed by the slow speed of the narrative. It’s worth reading on as it does improve and has everything a good crime novel needs- it just doesn’t reach its potential. Would have been better if some plot points had been better developed
