This is a fascinating look into the life and career of James Brosnahan who had a really interesting career both as prosecutor and defense attorney. He had cases that spoke to the heart of human rights as well as cases that made the front-page news (Iran/Contra specifically prosecuting Casper Weinberger). He shares his key lessons learned including how he approaches cases including jury selection. This is a great read for anyone interested in the legal process from the lay reader like me to those wishing to go to law school. I really enjoyed reading about his great career and his candor about his successes and failures and reading about his accomplished wife (who is a judge).
Thank you to Netgalley and Rowman & Littlefield, Rowman & Littlefield Publishers for an ARC and I left this review voluntarily.
I really did not enjoy this book. I did not find it interesting enough to grab me, and felt the pacing and construction of the stories was off. I'm sorry, but I have to be honest. I really don't want to cause any harm to the author's reputation by leaving a bad review, I'm sure that he's a good person, and I admire his long career. Therefore, I will not be leaving my review on any of my regular sites. Best of luck to the author.
