A second easy to read tale set around a sweet shop, although not much happened actually involving the sweet shop. Not as good as the first in the series I felt it took the whole book to finally get to the point that should have been the end of book one. The storyline involving Dan was rather strange and didn’t really go anywhere or have any explanation as to why his character changed so much.
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood for this ARC book
THE BLURB:
While Holly Berry may have finally purchased Just One More and landed a date with one of Bourton-on-the-Water’s most eligible bachelors, it is far from plain sailing.
A face from the past threatens to torpedo Holly’s fledgling relationship before it even gets going.
Will everything go according to plan? Or is Holly’s dream life at risk of turning sour?
MY REVIEW:
A quick, enjoyable, lighthearted read that is easily finished in an hour. Very little conflict, nothing too deep in this book at all. I thought the romance was strained, and the chemistry lacked substance.
RATING:
3/5
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
I really enjoyed the book but feel like I couldn’t connect with the characters. Maybe it’s because I haven’t read the first book. Loved the plot and some parts made me laugh out loud! Thank you so much NetGalley & Boldwood Books!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a copy of this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Yet another enjoyable read for Hannah Lynn. The story of Holly Berry and her new life at the Just One More sweet shop continues with Holly settling in to her new life and with the view of romance on the horizon.
Holly loves her new life, the friends she has made and her possible blossoming relationship with the very serious Ben. This however is at risk when an unexpected visitor from her past shows up at just the wrong moment that could spell disaster for her and Ben.
Holly throws herself into work and into volunteering at the local aged care home where she meets a very vibrant and extravagant resident who she develops a mutual friendship with. As her personal life spirals Holly plans a community auction to raise funds for a dance at the aged care home the includes her auctioning off 2 hours of her time in a master cooking class with the winner.
This was again an easy and enjoyable read that I both laughed and cried in. I love how easy these books are to read and to immerse yourself in once you start them. Although mostly lighthearted there are some serious undertones also but not too much that it brings down the mood of the book.
I read this in a day and am looking forward to the next book in the series.
I enjoyed the first one and this second one didn’t disappoint, I like the characters and look forward to any others set in this wonderful shop
Review in progress and to come.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
Im transported back to a whimsical town of my dreams once again! This time, the focus tirns to romance as nick and holly fall in love. The usual supporting characters are all back. It feels familiar, comfortable, and delightful as the first. The writing is so descriptive that i can picture each scene in my mind.a wonderful read, highly recommend!
It was nice to see the characters from the first book again. However, I didn't like this part as much as the first book.
I was not really satisfied with some details of the plot. For example, Dan's motivation was unclear for me. Also, I felt a little forced the conflict between Ben and Holly.
To be honest, I found the most enjoyable the parts of the story which didn't deal with the romance.
However, it is only my personal opinion. Other readers might like the drama parts in the novel. So if you liked the first book, take a chance on this too.
I loved my second visit to Just One More - Holly Berry' s charming sweet shop . It was still peopled by all my favourite characters, plus some more ! I loved the interaction with the fabulous characters in the care home as well as watching Holly's fledgling romance blossom . This delightful series has the feel good factor that leaves the reader smiling and longing for just one more!
Hollys story at the sweet shop continues. She meets up with bad guys and good guys. Can she find the love of her life?
Please read the first book before reading the second of Hannah's books about Holly Berry and her sweet shop.
With Just One More now official hers, and a date with the town's hottest bachelor, can Holly battle faces from her past to make her dreams come true? Maybe finally leaving the past where it belongs in the past?
Find out in this second book that is released together with the first.
The characters are fun and well-developed, the setting is quaint and beautiful.
Thank you to Hannah Lynn, NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the arc of this book
Sweet, feel-good, romance. Easy to recommend to anyone that enjoys curling up with a cozy love story that unfolds as expected in unexpected ways. Just plain feel good and cozy.
It was so lovely to catch up with the characters from the previous book in the series. To find out what they have been up to and go along with them and their experiences in this new installment. I really enjoyed my visit with them again and look forward to more in the future.
The second Holly Berry book. It would read ok alone but is nicest if you read book 1 first. We now follow Holly and friends as they volunteer in a nearby old age home. New characters there are great and the story is sweet.
