This is a cute, easy read and a fun little debut! As a huge Love Island fan, I was excited to read Amber’s debut. I absolutely adore the cast of characters, including all of the supporting characters. It felt like a real, supportive group of friends and honestly they could have been fleshed out in their own love stories because they were so relatable.

I liked being able to read Samantha’s blog posts - they were a good way to get insight to the characters thoughts. I also liked the dual POV but I wish we had gotten more consistent chapters from Roman.

Some of the writing and scenes could have been more fleshed out. The lack of communication between the characters started to get really aggravating. Samantha would ask a question and it would basically be shrugged off and pushed off until later, by both her friends and Roman. I’m not a fan of the miscommunication trope and it felt like this whole book was people avoiding actual conversations with each other. There were too many secrets and people not expressing how they felt. When they finally did talk about what was going on with them, these “big issues” ended up getting resolved very quickly. Everything felt very instantaneous instead of having an emotional build up behind it.

Overall if you’re looking for an easy summer read about love and friendship, you may enjoy this book.
