A cute, basic graphic novelette about friendship. The art is maybe a tad too generic for me, but you decide.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A cute early graphic novel about being ready to come out of from the winter weather. Super cute.

The story here is a short and straightforward one, easy for young readers to follow. The illustration style also leans young with rounded features and almost pastel tones. It's quite positive overall.

Cute book with sweet illustrations. The book focuses on friendships and having a positive view of them. It's a short read, easy to understand but there wasn't actually anything special about the story because it's basic concept has been used over and over again in other books.

This is a sweet, gentle tale of friends gathering for a celebration. An interesting combination of easy-to-read graphic novel and chapter book, the real highlight is the author's charming illustrations. A nice story for anyone who needs a reminder of all that is good in life.

This series is one of the earliest-reading comic book franchises I've seen. Very basic, it shows little in the way of drama, but lashings of friendship, oodles of joy, and bounteous spontaneous happiness. Here, Arlo (a rhino, it seems) wants to celebrate the fact a bad storm has passed everyone by – only he's the only one to know the storm has actually passed. The other critters (the worm, the hedgehog, the hippo – of course) need to turn their frowns upside down. It can do no harm at all to have a young audience engage with this en route to more impactful and dramatic reads, for it shows that friends on the page can be friends of the reader, too. And there's a recipe as well.

Beautiful bright colors, simple illustrations, and happy plot. This is something between an easy reader and first graphic novel. Younger readers will enjoy. I will be purchasing this for my library.

Happy Pudding by Kimberly Gee is a fun graphic story for kids. After a long storm is over what's better than celebrating the sunshine of the new day, of rainbows and the warmth with the one you love. Arlo is all excited to meet his friends, Alive, Spike and Slide after the storm is over. Three of his friends are coping with the aftermath of the storm that went on and on.
This book feels like a warm embrace, perfect for little ones this is a very thoughtfully curated along with gorgeous and colourful illustrations this book beautifully showcases the journey of finding calm and warm in the embrace of your friends where all the friends after a storm came together to create joy , happy pudding and cheers to happy days. A easy and very fun read that young readers will definitely enjoy.

A really cute children's book! Arlo and his friends (Alice, Slide, Spikes and Cooky) are making a bread and berries pudding after the storm has made everyone sad. The story and the illustrations are cute, with vibrant colors and good characters. Perfect for younger children.

*Thank you Netgalley, the author Kimberly Gee and the publisher for this eARC*

With the illustration on the cover, I was not expecting this to be written like a graphic novel.

I think this would be a great book for kids who are just starting to read but would like to see more sight words that fit the younger style illustrations.

This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well, even thought is very short I could really connect with the characters and feel theirs struggles.
I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was.
I will definitely recommend!

What a wonderful early graphic novel about friendship and baking! Arlo can’t wait to have his friends over for a get-together but his friends aren’t feeling so great after the long storm. As Arlo invites each friend to his get-together, he listens and helps them sort out their feelings. Text and illustrations complement each other. The illustrations are simple and there is not much too much text on each page. I will definitely be recommending this book to our early readers!

Arlo and his friends have just weathered some stormy weather. Everyone is still shuttered and in hiding. Arlo decides that a shared meal is just the things to bring his friends together again. So Arlo sets out to invite his friends and gather ingredients. Everyone is willing to join in and contribute. Read on to find out what they cook up together.

*Bonus - this super cute picture book has a kid friendly recipe at the end!

Recommended for 5-11 year olds.

Apparently, there are multiple Arlo books. In this one, a storm has run through the community, and it was dark and scary, but the sun and the rainbow are out. That means it’s time for a gathering, so Arlo and Cookie are going to have everybody over. This is an elementary graphic novel meant for kindergarten/ first grade. It’s overly sweet and quite predictable but a fun read that will have kids wanting the next book in the series.

Happy Pudding is about about what Arlo and his friends do after the storm. You meet Arlo and then his friends through the chapters of this beginning graphic novel. I love the message of this book. The characters are adorable.

This is everything my first graders love-graphic novel, chapters, adorable illustrations, a fun map in the beginning. They are easy readers too! I love that is also a series. This is going on my wishlist to get as soon it is released!!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC! Happy Pudding is a cute story for young readers. The illustrations are bright which make them appealing. The story is like a comic book, but there are 1-2 pictures on a page which makes the book not overwhleming. This is a great book for young readers who want to read comic books. Overall, this is a cute story of friends working together.

Cute book about looking at the bright side! The different characters are really relatable to kids, especially the emotions they are exploring and experiencing. Kids can really get into it when it comes to the actual cooking, which I love! I also love the fact it’s a graphic novel, which is great for kids of all ages, as pictures tell a story just as much as words do! Emotions, feelings, and the like can be told in images, so this was a neat addition. Thanks for the opportunity to read!
