I LOVE FIONA THE HIPPO. Sorry, just had to get that out of my system. This book was adorable and I loved it. Children will love it too! Will definitely recommend this for my library!
A lovely picture book to explore change. Through the eyes of a young hippo, natural changes such as migration, seasons, new siblings and love are shared and understood with the help of her Mum. The illustrations are beautiful and will delight younger children as they begin to explore the natural world.
I received an ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I don't really get the title of this one if I'm being honest. The illustrations are the same beautiful art that we've all come to expect from the Fiona books. The book tells the story of Fiona worrying about her friends forgetting her as the seasons change and they all follow their individual instincts. It's a good intro to seasons and the lasting nature of true friendship.
I was first gifted a Fiona book years ago and during the Pandemic learned all about Fiona's story as I started watching the Cincinnati Zoo's daily Live Videos. It has been fun to watch and learn about Fiona's story and this is a great new edition in the Fiona series that talks all about seasons and the feelings associated with changes.
As a homeschool mom, I am always looking for new books to talk about the seasons and this book is a particularly fun take on the topic because in addition to discussing the changes that happen with each season it also discussed which animals prefer each season. Additionally, it has the added benefit of talking through the emotions surrounding change. I find the my children often struggle with the idea of change so it is very helpful for them to see character they are already familiar with deal with these same struggles.
The illustrations in this book are delightful and I just love all the cute expressions on the faces of the animals. I also like the bright colors in this book and think that they will appeal to the young children who will enjoy this title.
If you love Fiona, you are going to want to check out this next book in the series. And, seriously, who is not following sweet Fiona?!
You've Got This, Fiona is the latest story featuring the works famous Fiona the Hippo. Things are changing around Fiona and she isn't quite sure what to make of it. This is a familiar feeling for many children. With his beautiful artwork and skillful storytelling Richard Cowdrey has crafted a book that will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Thank you to Netgalley and Zonderkidz for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a cute story of how Fiona the hippo handles change in the zoo. It has a great message and beautiful illustrations.
Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
What a cute book!! Being from Cincy, I have an obligatory adoration for Fiona (and now baby Fritz). I love that a lot of the elements seen at our zoo was incorporated into the story. This would also be a great book to read at the end of the year because not only is the season changing but students might be worried that their friends will forget them, too! This will be a great addition to our library!
My children and I love the Fiona series. The pictures are so beautiful and the story elements are easy to follow and enjoy. I could even see how you could use this in a classroom to teach hibernation and friendship.
A very cute kids story about change. Change can be scary and it can be good. Fiona learns about the changing of the season and how it affects everyone in a different way. Fiona learned how change can be good and how in the Spring it was a good change for her and her family. A good teaching and well written book on the changing of seasons and how change can be scary and good. Thank you to Zonderkidz-book and Netgalley for allowing me to read this book and leave a review.
This book about the famous hippo, Fiona, from the Cincinnati Zoo is adorable. I think this is a great introductory book for younger kids to explain the changing season. It is also a cute story about friendship, including other animals from the zoo. It also helps teach that various animals enjoy different seasons. Fiona also learns that it is okay for things to change. There are also cute illustrations of Fiona and other animals in the zoo. I think my young kids would definitely enjoy this book.
An adorable kid's picture book filled with animals at a zoo, featuring Fiona the hippo.
Lots of opportunities to learn about colors, different animals, seasons & more. Also offers opportunities for parents to talk to their kids about worry/fear, how to deal with it, change (& how it's not always bad), adapting to younger siblings & more.
With lots of bright colors & beautiful illustrations, this book is a delight for parents & children alike!
Thanks to Netgalley & ZonderKids for this ARC. I was able to preview this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

You've Got This, Fiona is a cute story about seasonal changes done so with adorable animals. When a young hippo starts seeing changes in the seasons and changes with animals around, they start asking questions. I love talking about the seasons, each one brings something special to the world. The illustrations are gorgeous, and we adore reading all Fionas stories.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.
I loved this book. Full disclosure - Fiona is my favorite hippo (sorry Fritz) so I was excited to reach this one.
This is a sweet story about friendship and learning to adapt to change. The real star of the book are the adorable illustrations. I’ll be buying copies for all the kids in my life this Christmas.
This was a delightful and cute read. The illustrations are adorable and the colors are pleasing to the eye. The story itself is also cute and potrays Fiona in a relatable way for kids with them wanting to be with their friends and remembered during a time away. Might be a great read before summer break even if the seasons don't match up.
We LOVE Fiona the Hippo, and we loved this adorable book!! A super fun story with adorable, vibrant illustrations. My four year old loved it and this is definitely one I will read to my preschool class as well. I can't wait for more books about the lovely Fiona! 🦛
Thank you Zonderkids a digital copy of this book! We definitely recommend it!!

The book was super cute and a good way to teach children about changing of seasons and change in general. I did feel the book kind of dragged on though. It felt out of place adding in the story of Fiona gaining a brother right in the middle. Other than that, the book was a nice easy read!
This book is so cute! I've read all of the Fiona books to my nephews and I have no doubt they will love this one too. It has a good lesson about change and the ending is adorable. I'm glad they've added Fritz to the storyline now. The illustrations are great. Definitely recommend
You've Got This, Fiona is an adorable kids book about Fiona the hippo. She is adorable and awfully sad about the weather changing. This book introduces seasons, friendship, and thematic zoo themes. I think this is absolutely perfect for preschool/age 3 crowd. The illustrations are gorgeous and I wish Fiona could pop right off the page and come home with us.
This is the story of Fiona a young hippo who is seeing the changes in the seasons and is afraid her friends will forget her during the winter while they are apart. She learns which of her animal friends like the cold winter weather and which like the hot summer weather, she thinks of ways to make sure her friends remember her. She learns to be ok with things changing because changes can be good even if they are scary or worrisome to begin with. It's a cute story and has very cute illustrations with all kinds of different animals featured.
This was such a beautifully illustrated book. My daughter and I enjoyed all the characters and how the story explained handling changes on a level that a young child could understand it more easily. Great story!
