This is a review for only the preview since that is all that is available so far. Based on what I've read so far, and my past experience with both authors, and given that I love Nico, I'm sure I'm going to end up giving it 5 stars, but since I don't have the full book, I don't feel right rating it 5 stars. I will certainly change it after I've had the chance to read the whole thing.

This preview contains what is probably a prologue and it sets us up for the quest that will probably take up the rest of the book. We've known for some time (I can't even remember in which of the last 15 books it was, but I think it was in the second series) that Rachel channeled the oracle to give Nico a quest, but up until now, he has tried to ignore it. At this point, he and will have been boyfriends for a year, and everything in the world seems to be going their way for once. Except his nightmares have increased.

I was excited when I read that Mark Oshiro and Rick Riordan had teamed up to write Nico and Will's quest story. Nico has been one of my favorite characters and has been through more trauma than just about any other character, and it's a miracle he's still functioning, a great testament to his resilience. But I get the feeling that he and Will are going to have to dig deep to get themselves through this adventure. I think Mark will be the perfect writing partner for this story, and while I don't know who wrote what, this prologue reassures me that this story will fit right into the Percy Jackson series. I suspect I'm going to need a box of tissues for this one though!

The sampler was so good. Can't wait to have the book in my hands and read the entirety of Nico and Will's story (probably in the span of a day if I'm being honest).

I loved this so much! This sampler is such a teaser and made me want to cry when I got to the end cause I wanted to continue reading it. This has me so excited for the book to be released. Just from what I've read it seems like this book is going to be a rollercoaster of emotions. I can't wait to read more about what is in store for Nico and Will!

It's very exciting to sneak a peek at how this book will read, with another author in the mix I was wondering how the tone would work out, but I was pleasantly surprised to see just how familiar it felt. This reads like a Percy Jackson book, and i'm excited to (finally) get an extended look at things from Nico's pov, he was always a bit of a mystery, so it's fun to get a feel for what he's really like. I look forward to reading the rest when it comes out!

As a long-time Percy Jackson fan, the chapter sampler has made me even more excited for this book than I already was. It looks like this book will be focusing a lot on Nico's trauma so I'll be interested to see how Riordan and Oshiro develop that. It's so wonderful getting to visit Camp Half-Blood; jumping into this book felt like every other book in the series in the best way possible, like going home. I absolutely can't wait to read the rest when it's released!

this was so good!! i'm so excited for the full book, and it's great to be back in this world! literally my whole childhood :)

I read this sampler in one sitting it was a very fast paced and I'm so excited to see how everything will go from that point. I can't wait to read the rest of the book! I know that this is going to be so good!
