Thank you to NetGalley for this copy in exchanged for an honest review. I absolutely adored this children’s book. It was a sweet book about a cloud finding somewhere who appreciates her just as she is. My daughter loved to addition of the song it used, she’s been singing it all day. Would definitely recommend this book for all parents with small children.
Great graphics and astute rhyme schemes. A charming short story about finding your place in the world.
Pitter Patti just wants to make people happy but when you are a rain cloud it can be hard. My children loved reading this book. The story is imaginative and Patty is someone the children love, even when she is raining. The pictures are beautiful and add a lot to the story, especially when showing the different shapes of clouds. Enjoy this book with your little one!!!
This was an endearing little story about finding where you fit in.
The rain cloud isn’t really wanted much by the people she rains on, until one day travels to a place that doesn’t get much rain.
I like the idea of this book but I think the overall execution of the a story could have been a little better. Not sure I like the thought that you leave sad when you’re not treated well until you find where you fit in.
Love the illustrations and the cover of this book. A super unique book with a strong message! No matter how much of an outcast you are, keep trying and you will find exactly where you are supposed to be with the people who love you most. This is a great kids' book to teach them how to be nice to someone who is different and to always look on the bright side and value uniqueness.
My kids all enjoyed the book (ages 2,4,6).
After having tons of rain in the past week, this made us think about rain clouds in a different way and now we almost feel bad for telling the rain to go away. Great read aloud to start our morning on another rainy day.
The illustrations and color palettes are fantastic. The story line is cute -- a cloud looking for a friend. The journey across the sky is engaging. If you're into the angelic wings on Pitter Patty and "normalized" behaviors (mom taking the stroller out and traditional sibling relationships) then you will be okay with this book.
Cute book! Creative idea. My son loved the illustrations, especially the different shapes in the clouds. Would be helpful for teaching kiddos not to be afraid of storms!
A great book choice as we head into the rainy season of spring ☀️🌦️🌧️⛈️☔️
I loved teaching my weather unit this time of year. I also love to have a crossover across different subjects. This would’ve been a great book to pull into ELA lessons. You can also teach about cloud formation, go outside to look at the clouds in the sky, and do a cloud art project or science experiment!
The book author mentions that it uses open dyslexic font. I’m not familiar with this, but it would totally be worth looking into if you’re currently working with students that have dyslexia!
I read this book to my 8 year old daughter and 6 year old son and they really enjoyed it, especially my son.
Pitter Patty the rain cloud kept raining and everyone sang “Rain, Rain Go Away” however, wherever she ended up no one wanted rain.
My son kept commenting how rude the people were being and that they should be nicer to Patty and that we need rain for animals and plants.
Highly recommend this book! Must read to find out how the story ends!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the Advanced Reading Copy.
This is a cute little story about a sad rain cloud who is trying to find her place is the world. She tries changing herself to make people like her but eventually finds a way to just be herself. Cute message for younger children!
Adorable!! I liked the rhyming parts that made it fun to read to kids!! My niece loved seeing Pitter Patty happy!
Pitter Patty just wants to be herself but everyone always tries to sing her away. She tries to come back another day, but when you're a cloud, it can be hard to hold back the rain. Can Pitter Patty find a place where she and her rain will be wanted?
This was a cute book that shows the importance of rain. It makes for a perfect book to read on a rainy day when the kids might be wishing they could be outside. I would read this to my preschool class and the three and five year olds I read it to enjoyed it and liked the pictures.
Very well illustrated children’s book showing the different stages or emotions of a cloud in the sky. Pitter Patty wanted the children to be happy with her so she decided to hold her breath and make the sun come out which after holding for too long created lightning. Not only is this a fun read for children but it also teaches them the different stages of clouds and about the weather. Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!
Pitter Patty is a creative cute rhyming story. I feel this is better to the younger ages of 2-4. My 4.5 year old wasn't totally captivated the whole time, but I know he would have LOVED this a year ago. The story itself is very cute and I love the themes of acceptance and inclusion.
My daughter is six and an early reader. She LOVES picking out books and reading to me.
She really loved Pitter Patty, and I loved its message. Poor Pitter Patty tries to conform to a mold she thinks she should be in order for people to love her. She tries and tries to hide who she is (a rain cloud) until eventually she finds that she’s not the problem, she just hadn’t found her place yet.
This children’s book offers a subtle reminder that just because you don’t fit in one place, it doesn’t mean you should change yourself to belong.
I also loved that at the end of the book it mentions dyslexia. This book opened organic conversation around dyslexia, feeling like we don’t belong, and loving others for their differences.
This NetGalley book was offered to me at no charge for my honest review.
This was a really cute story about a raincloud named Patty. I think this has a good message for children about finding people who love you for what you are! I also love the fact that it rhymes
SIlly little book about a rain cloud who can't find her way. No real message but still a cute, clever way to look at rain for a child who might be afraid of it. The pictures were ok
Very cute retelling of a rhyme everyone knows. Little kids will love having this read to them. Great artwork and clever rhyming patterns. I highly recommended this book.
Many, many people (not just kids) will be able to relate with this book!
Our cloud Pitter Patty who always gives rain is scared to be herself and be the rain giver as many are not happy with rain.
But there are also lots of people who loves rain.
Pitter Patty gets to shine where she’s celebrated. Yes, we all need to learn this simple lesson from this book.
Love the illustrations and the presentation so much!
