Three Holidays and a Wedding is exactly what you would expect if you were watching a Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel! I appreciated this book because it was such a feel-good book throughout the entire thing. Snow Falls Inn happens to be in the most inclusive small=town in Canda. The diversity in this book did not feel forced and it flowed really well together. The climax/drama of the book was not cringey, like some holiday movies and books. The drama made me feel relief once it was over and the characters understood their deeper feelings. I enjoyed every page of this book and it really helped get me into the holiday spirit!

This is a charming and sweet holiday story. I really enjoyed the unique idea of including Christmas, Hanukkah, and Ramadan in one story. I loved that it was told in dual perspectives of Maryam and Anna. It definitely veered into cheesy Hallmark-movie territory and contained some implausible story elements, but I think it definitely achieved the goal of being a light-hearted and escapist holiday rom-com. There is nothing life=changing here but it's lots of fun to cozy up with on a wintry afternoon.

I've read BOTH of these two author's before & quite enjoyed their work, so I grabbed "Three Holidays and a Wedding" just as it was being published. I really enjoyed the premise of it - it covers Christmas, Hanukkah, and Ramadan and takes place back in the year 2000 when all three of those holidays coincided to fall within days of each other & it's set in a cute Canadian town called "Snow Falls" with lots of quirky charm & several romantic developments with a large, multi-cultural cast. At times it was it little unbelievable that all this was goiong on in one tiny town, but I did like the "meet cutes" and second chances in this & I really appreciated that is was a "clean" and closed door type romance. My sincere thanks to Net Galley & the publisher for the pre-approved & complimentary DRC, my sincere pleasure to review it.

If you like Hallmark movies and holidays this books if for you! Anna and Maryam have a chance meeting at the Denver airport while trying to get to Toronto. Anna, to spend the holidays with her boyfriend and his family. Maryam, to get her sister married. Of course, there is a freak snow storm that leaves them stranded if the quaint town of Snow Falls. Snow Falls is unlike most small towns as it has many cultures represented. The intersection of 3 holidays Christmas, Hanukkah, and Ramadan has the town all a buzz. Will the stranded guests make it out in time for their celebrations of will the snow storm rage on??
I really enjoyed this book. Of course, I enjoyed learning about the way the different cultures celebrated the holiday. Also the romance was very sweet. If you are interested in a holiday read this season, definitely check this one out!

Thank you to @NetGalley and @putnambooks for this eARC #gifted - the review contains my own thoughts, of course!
If you are only planning to read one holiday book this coming winter make it this one, it has it all. It has the hot chocolate and the decorations, new love and more of a second chance romance, the snow and the festive cheer but more than that it doesn't just include Christmas. It is set in the year 2000 because Christmas, Hanukkah, and the end of Ramadan all fell within just days of one another. This book includes customs and foods typical for all three of these holidays and puts them on a more equal footing than you would usually see them in a holiday romance novel.
It has a group of strangers of course and snowed in - allowing them to reflect on life back home, whether they are on a good path and wonder about the road not taken. This book was quite brilliant in it's exploration.
The cooperation between Canadian writers Uzma Jalaluddin and Marissa Stapley was done seamlessly and just so very well.
I truly loved learning more about cultures other than my own and this fictional Canadian town of Snow Falls, Ontario has won my heart. Upside-down pineapple rugelach, shier korma and the Yule Log all sound so good that I am hungry after reading this book.

This was a delightful holiday romp with all my favorite elements: small town, snowed in, chance meetings and cleared up misunderstandings, and family bonds. Love how it weaves together Ramadan, Hanukkah, and Christmas as they aligned in the year 2000. Perfect small town, snowy vibes, and very sweet characters building relationships, romantic and otherwise.

This was like a romantic Hallmark Christmas movie in the form of a book with a focus on Hanukkah and Ramadan.

Two very different ladies, Maryam & Anna, end up as seat mates on a flight to Toronto and when the flight has some scary turbulence both confess their hopes and fears to one another. The flight ends up diverted to a small town named Snowy Falls where they end up snowed in for a few days that change both girls lives, Maryam & Anna slowly become friends, and support one another in going after their dreams as well as finding love. My favorite character was Maryam’s grandfather Dadu for his wisdom, understanding and love for his family.

As someone that celebrates Christmas, I really enjoyed learning more about Hanukkah, Ramadan, Eid al-Adha & Muslim culture.

A special thanks to NetGalley & Penguin Group Putnam for an advanced digital copy of this book.

Three holidays and a wedding is an ambitious read that is bringing a lot together into one story. For me, it didn’t work and I decided to DNF but definitely feel ymmv. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the free ebook to review.

This darling multi-faith holiday read takes place in the picturesque little town of Snow Falls, Canada, in a year when Christmas, Hanukkah, and the end of Ramadan are occurring nearly simultaneously – a trifecta of holidays! Anna and Maryam meet on a plane bound for Toronto; Anna to spend the holidays with her future in-laws and Maryam and her family to celebrate her sister’s wedding. When a blizzard forces their plane to make an emergency landing and upends all their plans, they’ll end up finding themselves and maybe even love along the way.

I really enjoyed this charming holiday story! In a genre inundated with Christmas stories, it’s a delight to see other holidays get the attention they deserve. The descriptions of the culture and traditions associated with Ramadan and Muslim weddings are particularly deep and rich. The romances are cute and sweet but aren’t the only focus of the story. Ultimately this book is about family, friendship, and two women discovering what they really want out of life and having the courage to go for it. This sweet, funny, heartwarming story is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Group Putnam for providing me an advance copy of this book.

Cute holiday romcom that includes all the holidays of winter! If The Day the World Came to Town and a Hallmark Christmas Movie had a baby, this novel would be the byproduct. I laughed, cried and swooned along with the stranded passengers and townsfolk alike. The multitude of endearing, quirky characters made this book for me. They were so relatable and lovable I really want to visit this small fictional Canadian town. Great holiday read!

First Thoughts: I love the winter holidays
Mood While Reading: Lovey
Song: Don't Walk Away by John Legend

A huge thank you to G.P. Putnam's Sons and PRH Audio for granting me access to Three Holidays and a Wedding y Uzma Jaluladdin and Marissa Stanley

Synopsis: As strangers and seatmates Maryam Aziz and Anna Gibson fly to Toronto over the holidays—Maryam to her sister’s impromptu wedding, and Anna to meet her boyfriend’s wealthy family for the first time—neither expect that severe turbulence will scare them into confessing their deepest hopes and fears to one another. At least they’ll never see each other again. And the love of Maryam’s life, Saif, wasn’t sitting two rows behind them hearing it all. Oops.
An emergency landing finds Anna, Saif, Maryam, and her sister’s entire bridal party snowbound at the quirky Snow Falls Inn in a picture-perfect town, where fate has Anna’s actor-crush filming a holiday romance. As Maryam finds the courage to open her heart to Saif, and Anna feels the magic of being snowbound with an unexpected new love—both women soon realize there’s no place they’d rather be for the holidays.

I was looking for a hug in the pages of a book and Jalaluddin and Stapley delivered ten-fold. I loved the characters, I loved the exploration of different cultural celebrations, and the social gaffes even the most well intentioned person can make. The small town, snowed in setting was perfection. I highly recommend reading this on a cold day with a mug of steaming hot chocolate or tea. This book will remind you what the holidays are truly about-being with loved ones, appreciating the opportunity to reunite, and cherishing all the moments together that create memories to recall of years to come.

I switched back and forth between the audiobook and the text. I can't tell you which I preferred, because they both were great! I liked having the various voices to overlay when I swapped back to the book. As the book drew to a close, I switched back to my Kindle just so I could prolong the inevitable end of their stories.

Three Holidays and a Wedding was so cute but it gave me so much anxiety in the beginning! I may have related to Anna’s people pleasing too much.

However, I’m glad I stuck through with it to the end, as I loved the romance and intermingling of holidays. This is a great book for readers like me who grew up in a multi-religious household! It’s nice to see our holidays represented.

Thank you Penguin Group, Putnam for my copy! All thoughts are my own.

If there’s one thing I love to read about in books, it’s storms. Storms have always fascinated me and snowstorms always make for great stakes in a holiday story. I also was particularly excited to read this book because as someone who loves Christmas and loves Christmas movies, rom coms, and books, I am always looking to find more stories that feature other holidays. Now, I know that the western calendar doesn’t mean that Christmas is the most important holiday, it’s just what has been prioritized in western culture. But I loved the premise of this book that is based on the year 2000 when all three holidays took place around the same time.

I thought this book was very cute and a perfect holiday read if you like family stories with a dash of romance. It’s got just the right amount of fun, heart, and holiday magic.

Synopsis:

“    As strangers and seatmates Maryam Aziz and Anna Gibson fly to Toronto over the holidays—Maryam to her sister’s impromptu wedding, and Anna to meet her boyfriend’s wealthy family for the first time—neither expect that severe turbulence will scare them into confessing their deepest hopes and fears to one another. What I Liked:

The Story/Premise—I’ve always been fascinated and thrilled when the Muslim and Jewish holidays align with Christmas. Since we live in a country that doesn’t guarantee time off for the non-Christian western holidays (which is a problem in and of itself) I’m always happy to see this time align for families. I loved that this was a little period piece of the early 2000’s and featured a snowstorm. You know I love a good storm in a good!

The Characters—I thought the characters were vibrant and wonderful. I loved their relationships and bonds, I loved the small town and it kind of gave me Schitt’s Creek vibes, where it was a small town but full of accepting, diverse people.

What Didn’t Work For Me:

Wish it was 1st POV—I’m becoming a reader that really prefers first person POV in Romance which is entirely a personal preference!

Character Authenticity: 4/5 Spice Rating: 0/5 Overall Rating: 3.75/5

Content Warnings:

gaslighting, death of a parent, grief, toxic relationship

As a third grade teacher, making time to read in the fall is always a daunting task with school starting up. Three Holidays and a Wedding was the perfect book to get me out of my busy and stressful days—-to escape into the world of Anna and Maryam and the surprises found in Snow Falls. After connecting on a plane ride which left them unexpectedly stranded in the small Canadian town, randomly also the frequent host to many Hallmark-Esque movie settings, the women embark on their own journeys of self discovery and love. I really enjoyed this book and found it a perfect distraction to my intense workdays—-escaping to Snow Falls was just what I needed too!

A sweet romance which is a balm to the issues in the world today. Anna and Maryam meet at the airport in Denver. On the way to Toronto, they encounter a massive snow storm and are redirected to a small town in Ottawa, Snow Falls. Snow Falls represents a dream small town, looking like a decorated Christmas village, but with the diversity of a big city. Acceptance of the three holidays converging at the same time, the celebrations of Christmas, Hanukkah and Ramadan provide the backdrop for this lovely romance. Maryam’s big family provides one story line, while Anna is trying to figure out where her future is, with Nick or someone else. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

I was not able to finish the book and therefore do not feel that I can give an unbiased review about the book, its plot, characters, or the author's work. I might revisit this book at a later time and finish it then, but not right now.
