This is my first Helen Cooper novel and I'm putting her on my must-buy list because of this book. Adam, Lucy, Cora, and Scott may look picture-perfect, but as Lucy learns, not every photo tells the truth about the people in it. What set this one apart for me to really enjoy it is that Lucy is the odd-man-out as the other three were all friends in college with their own sets of inside jokes and secrets.
After seeing a photo, Lucy realizes there might be more secrets than she even suspects and is determined to find them all out.
Overall, THE COUPLE IN THE PHOTO was a very quick read with the perfect amount of plot twists and secrets yet somehow, the progression of the secrets and betrayals was perfectly executed and felt real.

Thank you Net Galley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.

At first I picked up this book and put it down. I'm glad I did not put aside and decided to read again.

Lucy and her husband, Adam, have been best friends couple, Cora and Scott. They do everything as a family. But then Lucy sees a photo of a of Scott on a vacation with another woman. She wants to protect her friend but then the other woman goes missing and she is not sure if Scott was involved.

What does she do to find out? You will have to read the book.

This book will take you for a ride and a half. The cast of characters is small but well done. You will see how all their lives intertwined to get us to the end of the book. So well done and perfect for a beach or pool day.

Lucy has a happy family with her husband and two daughters. Her and her husband Adam had an amazingly close relationship with another couple, Scott and Cora, whom Adam had been close friends with since university. The two families did everything together, including buying a vacation house. Life was good. Then Lucy happens to see a picture of a coworkers honeymoon in the Maldives that included Scott with his arms around another women.
Lucy is shocked and determined to get to the bottom of why Scott was in the Maldives with another woman. She is determined to protect her friend, Cora. Lucy loves Scott but now doesn't trust him. She spirals down the trail of the photo, trying to get to the truth, doubting herself, her friends and her husband. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but what if you can not trust the photos your seeing?
While it was a little slow to start, the story did have some good twists and ah ha moments. I enjoyed it and found myself invested in the story, I did find it a little predictable, however, I read a lot of thrillers. The characters were well developed and easy to connect to. This was my first read from this author. I will definitely be checking out some of her other titles.

Pretty good domestic thriller. Gave the vibes of I know what you did last summer! Quick & easy read. I will hud beginning half was good and the last half felt kind of rushed.

Well, I really liked the first 3/4 of this one. I was engaged, curious, and appreciated the author's style. The last 1/4, not so much. It felt a little forced, and to me, didn't compare with the beginning.

A solid domestic suspense novel. I'd read more from the author.

I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Lucy and Adam/Cora and Scott……couples since university, their lives have been intertwined for years. They vacation together, own a beach house together, their children have grown up together, they share lots of dinners.  They are a family………until a random photo from the honeymoon shots of Lucy’s friend shows Scott with another woman. Who is this woman and what is she to Scott?
Lucy, always devoted and protective of Cora, has decided to play detective and search it out quietly but it becomes a bigger issue when the woman in that photo is discovered murdered. Can Scott be involved in this?
Slowly the story seeps out and it reflects back to university days before Lucy became part of the foursome. There was another young man entangled in their crowd who met an untimely demise.  The murdered woman also has an association with their college years. Lucy is on a mission for some answers while her friends are all falling apart.
It all eventually unravels with some unexpected twists for the reader.

3.5 stars. This was an interesting and fast paced read. I love the main character’s commitment to finding out if her friends husband was living a double life. Parts of the story did drag and a bit repetitive but overall a good and easy read.

The idea of seeing a married friend in a picture with another woman in someone's vacation photos...what an idea! It is so much more than you think. You won't have this one figured out. New author for me but liked this one.

What a spiral these couples get sent on!!! Wow!
It all starts with one simple photograph. A group of friends’ lives is forever changed by one simple photograph. So many secrets are uncovered in this exciting story.
Lucy and Adam and Scott and Cora have been friends for a long time, in fact they are practically family. But after Lucy suspects Scott of cheating on her best friend Cora, she starts to look into things and uncovers way more than she has ever bargained for. Lies, possible murder, and deception follow. But where did it all begin? Dows what they see in the photograph tell the whole story? You can find out he reading this page-turner that will have you guessing and reguessing the very end.
Glad I got an ARC from NetGalley to read and review this novel!

The Couple in the Photo was a fun, easy-to-read thriller. You don’t have to wait long for the action to start, as we find that Lucy suspects her best friend’s husband of an affair after seeing him in a photo with an unknown woman at the beginning of the novel.

This story gave me “I Know What You Did Last Summer” vibes, as it takes twists and turn before you discover what this close-knit group of friends is hiding.

The main downside to the plot is there are a limited number of characters, so it was easy to figure out the ultimate twist.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another great ARC.

Lucy and Adam. Cora and Scott. Best friends. Inseparable, as are their children. That is, until Lucy is looking through her coworker’s honeymoon pictures and sees Scott in one of the pictures, with a woman other than his wife. Things get even worse when that women ends up missing. Can Lucy get to the bottom of what happened in the Maldives?

Nice, easy read. First book I’ve read by this author and I am really grateful to get it as an ARC. This book had lots of twists and turns, and it’s definitely my favorite genre of book 🤣. Recommend this one, for sure!

This was one where it took me longer to get into it than others but all in all it was a solid novel. The writing was excellent I just thought maybe the storyline could flow a bit smoother.

This book had me hooked very early on all the way to the end!! Thank you NetGalley for the copy, I loved this book.

Lucy, her husband and their best friends Cora and Scott seem to have the perfect lives. Relationships, friendships, their kids are best friends, it all seems great. Then one day Lucy sees a picture she thinks is her best friends husband with another woman. She starts to obsess and can’t seem to let it go. She starts unraveling so many dark secrets and finds out more and more.

I enjoyed the slight two pov but not knowing who the second pov was supposed to be. Towards the end my suspicions had been right about who killed Juliet but I was still shocked by all the other twists that came with it! This was easy and quick to read because it kept you entertained the whole time. I questioned a lot of Lucy’s actions but who knows how I’d act if I thought and found out everything she did lol. Thanks again for this copy, loved it!!

Fasten your seatbelt folks, you are in for a fast paced winding road with lots of twists and turns. The Couple in the Photo kept me guessing up until the very end. Right when I thought I had it all figured out, Helen Cooper would thrown in a twist that I most certainly did not see coming. This was a quick read and kept me up late wanting to know what finally happened. Loved this book!

This was a fun weekend read - perfect for fans of mystery/thrillers that delve more deeply into the characters and the impact the questions had on their lives. Very light on anything that could be considered detailed violence - no gore.
A layered story, even the title has multiple meanings as the details unfold. I appreciated that I thought I'd figured it all out pretty early on, and there were many surprises still to come. The pacing was the best part for me, it read like a good movie - a slow build to a climactic resolution with just the right balance of tension and believability. Will remind you that a picture is indeed worth a thousand words.
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Publishing for the advanced copy.

Lucy’s world is totally rocked when she sees a photo of her best friend’s husband with another woman, canoodling in the Maldives on what looks like a relaxed dinner date. And you know what? She acted exactly like I would if I were thrust into such a situation. While some other books have women acting like detectives and doing completely unreasonable things, Helen Cooper writes a character that is actually believable.

THE COUPLE IN THE PHOTO has some good twists, which I enjoyed. And although I guessed the end a bit, the story is original and maybe even plausible. (OK not likely, but plausible, which I think many mystery/thrillers are NOT).

Read this one if you like trying to guess whodunnit, domestic thrillers and characters who are smart, strong, and believable. Helen Cooper is a clear and concise writer and I enjoyed reading her words and the escape of a good book.

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Group (Putnam) for the opportunity to read an eARC of THE COUPLE IN THE PHOTO and give my honest opinion.
