First off, a huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author, Helen Cooper for the eArc of this thriller!
I enjoyed this read, at times I think it was super slow and then it got super fast without stopping.
I had no idea who killed Juliet until the end but I knew Adam's game as soon as Lucy thought the photo of Guy and Juliet looked photoshopped and I knew then we were going to be on the ride of our lives.
I think the ending was wrapped up well with Lucy putting her life back together while Adam served time for what he had done.
Wow. I did not realize just how much this story had my stomach wrenching along with Lucy’s until all the pieces finally came together. The Couple in the Photo is a thrilling story of two families bound together by friendship, marriage and long buried secrets. But the complexity of the group was known to only one. But who??
Thanks to NetGalley for the advanced copy
This book gave “I Know What You Did Last Summer“ vibes. When Lucy sees a picture of her friend with another woman, she gets pulled down a rabbit hole trying to find answers to her many questions. This book kept me on my toes once I got about 20% of the way in. The twists just kept coming.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.
The couple in the photo: The premise of this book and the cover intrigued me. I liked the main character, Lucy, and while at times she may have appeared obsessive, I was right there alongside her. Overall, this was a fast paced book that had me hooked pretty much immediately. I did find myself guessing the ending about half way through, but there were still some unexpected twists at the end. A good beach read; I’d give this book 3.5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley and Putnam Books for a chance to read this book early.
This was the perfect definition of a page-turner for me. I read it while on an airplane and was actually upset when I had to put it down for landing. The plot keeps you guessing and questioning just how much we really know about the people closest to us. When Lucy happens to see a familiar face who never should have been in her coworkers’ honeymoon pictures, her rather ordinary life is set on a collision course that turns up secrets and lies she never could have imagined. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for early access to an intriguing thriller that will make you realize the camera lies and not everything is as picture perfect as it seems.
The author has written a thriller that keeps you quickly turning the pages. There are many twists and turns that keeps you guessing throughout the story. The two couples in the story along with their children had a strong bond. three of the adults knew each other for many years while in school. Lucy, Adam's wife, was initially the new one in the group. She quickly bonded with Cora and they became best friends. Scott, Adam and Cora had many secrets that they were harboring which slowly are to be revealed. An enjoyable read and will be recommending! #TheCoupleInThe Photo #HelenCooper #NetGalley
A compelling and juicy mystery with some great twists and turns. Lots of suspense and delicious unravelings and reveals. I couldn't put this down ... Oh, and then the end! Explosive.
Lucy is looking at her coworker's honeymoon pictures when she sees her best friend's husband with another woman vacationing in the Maldives. Not knowing what to do with this shocking information she confides in her husband who encourages her that she must be mistaken.. But she doesn't let it deter her and begins doing her own detective work trying to put together all the pieces and find proof before destroying Cora's life. .When the woman turns up missing Lucy can't keep it to herself any longer, she goes to the police to tell them what she knows, and everything begins to unravel.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, and keep you guessing to the very end!

Wow this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I loved the story from the start and the ending was excellent. Throughout the book I was trying to figure out who did what and was surprised by the twists. Would recommend this to anyone who loves a good mystery/ thriller
It was a simple work party. Lucy joined the group yo look at her fellow teacher Ruth’s honeymoon pictures from the Maldives and there he was. Scott. Her best friend Cora’s husband. He’s standing with his arm around a woman who is definitely not Cora. When Lucy tells her husband that Scott, his best friend since college, is having an affair, he’s sure it is a case of mistaken identity. But Lucy can’t let it go and she is soon embroiled in a mystery. Who is the woman in the picture? Whose body has just washed ashore in the islands? What happened to Ruth? And what is the secret that has been kept so long the it can now destroy Scott and Cora’s marriage, ruin Adam and Lucy’s friendship with Scott and Cora and lead to violence and death?
Set aside an afternoon or evening to read The Couple in the Photo and plan not to be interrupted. This is a thriller that you won’t be able to put down. Fast paced, suspenseful and so real, the action leaps off the page. 5 stars.
Thank you to NetGalley, PENGUIN GROUP Putnam and Helen Cooper for this ARC.
Lucy and her husband Adam have been close friends with Cora and Scott for years. In fact Adam, Cora, and Scott were all friends from college. Lucy was looking at a colleague's photos from her honeymoon trip and spots a photo of Scott with another woman. Lucy then learns the woman from the photo has gone missing and was found murdered. Secrets about her friends and husband become revealed as Lucy searches for the truth.
This was a fast paced and easy to follow thriller read. I devoured this book and couldn't wait to find out the ending. I loved all the references to photography and how the author incorporated little puns about photography throughout the story.
Thanks to Netgalley and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, G.P. Putnam's Sons for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Netgalley! I absolutely loved this book! I could not put it down & I never expected that ending. Sometimes, I thought I had it figured out but, nope. I really enjoyed this book & will be watching for more from this author!
A fairly predictable story line that is anything but predictable. Well done, Cooper! I love when I guess twists, but I also love when an author pulls one over on me. And Cooper pulled one over on me!
An interesting premise which seems to be about a simple affair turns into much more in this addicting read by Cooper. Not figuring out the twists was a nice bonus in this well written novel.
Thank you Penguin Group, Putnam, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this eARC!
I found the premise of this thriller to be interesting, I don’t think I’ve read one that involved a plot or plot twists of this type. Overall I found it to be a fast read that kept me reading in order to find out the truth. The characters and their questionable motives definitely kept me reading and I found the ultimate ending to be satisfying. I will say I really enjoyed reading the story and solving the mystery through Lucy’s eyes. I didn’t find the short sections from the killers perspective to be quite as chilling or misleading as they perhaps could’ve been. A solid thriller.
I really liked the cover of this book but I found it really hard to get into the story. I actually really couldn't finish it. I struggled through about 30% but I got confused by the characters between the two couples. The storyline also was not very believable for me so it lost my interest pretty quickly. I am not one to not finish a book so I really tried to struggle through however. I have so many books on my tbr list I am excited to get to so I did dnf this one sadly.
This was hard for me to get into and follow. Not necessarily the writing style- I just kept losing interest I guess. Two couples who are very close, their children play, they have family game nights together and so on. Until one of the wives is looking at a photo from her coworkers honeymoon and immediately spots her friend's husband. However, the woman his arms are lovingly wrapped around are not his wife's.
Thank you for NetGalley and the publishers for my free advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was not expecting this book to be as good as it was. I was expecting to like it but I really liked it. From page one I was really interested in the author's writing style and kept wanting to read it.
I actually enjoyed the main character (I'm mentioning this because often with thrillers the main character is not always likable). This was a thriller that I've been needing since getting back into the genre.
Since I liked this character I actually cared if something bad happened to her, to the point where I was a little scared (which doesn't often happen to me when I'm reading, I don't know why it just doesn't).
I definitely recommend this book if you are trying to get back into thrillers or trying to get into thrillers. I feel like it is great mystery and I'm so excited for everyone else to read it.
Thank you so much to the publisher and to netgalley for giving me this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I made the mistake of starting this before bed last night and ended up reading it all in one sitting. I haven’t stayed up all night because of a book in quite some time. This was an absolutely fantastic read and I’m almost sorry that it’s over. I loved how well written the main character was- usually, when nothing is as it seems, the main character is easily fooled and doesn't catch on to what's happening until the last minute. Instead, Lucy quickly realized that something wasn't quite right and managed to piece things together despite the constant gas lighting done by her friends and her husband. I liked the character complexities and I especially loved the ending. This book has me ready to look for the author's other works.
