I picked this up because I saw people talking about it and I thought,l to myself, “this is a joke, right?” I’m hoping it was a joke; no, there’s no way this was not a joke, but I am still disgusted and weirded out. I wasn’t expecting grandiose writing but this was just nothing with dino-human porn and I’m trying to find a secret meaning but, no. Maybe just a remibder to stay away from Jeff Goldblum’s warning that “life finds a way”? This is the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever read. I don’t know how others below me have actual depth and professionalism to their reviews. Bravo because I can’t get anything more than this into words.
Y'all...here is the list of suggested trigger warnings that Faust's sensitivity readers came up with:
"Dinosaurs, sex, dinosaur sex, ornithoscelidaphobia, fisting, vore, gore, pain, blood, sadism, masochism, captivity, camping, cults, candy, insects, arm trauma, shoulder trauma, amputation, interspecies sex, menstruation, brains, carnivorism, sexism, misogyny, speciesism, classism, ableism, abusive parent, abusive coworker, infidelity, pornography, fire, water, forests, farms (working and dormant), unorthodox use of personal lubricant, implicit and explicit threat of sexual assault, inaccurate dinosaur anatomy (for the sake of the story), accurate dinosaur anatomy (for the sake of accuracy), feathers, Canada, South Dakota, WalMart, cornfields, cow-tipping, barns, pickup trucks, threat of police violence, guns, gunshot wounds, immigration paperwork, portable toilets, decapitation, taffy-pulling, animal slaughter, religion, PTSD, venture capital, vegetables" (loc. 9)
You might or might not regret Googling "vore slang." Go on, I dare you.
This is the third(!) of Faust's books that I've read, and upon reflection I was eased in very, very gently with "Dino Stud." One of the first things that happens in "Wet Hot Allosaurus Summer" involves an injury that leaves the heroine's arm spurting blood and dangling uselessly. Time to seek medical attention, right? Or pass out from blood loss and pain? Nope! Time to have racy, blood-pumping sex with a dinosaur! (I'd like to suggest "inaccurate medical information" and "lack of medical care" as additions to the list of trigger warnings.) Don't worry, though. If you're thinking "gee, of *course* all I'd want while bleeding out is a good dino bang, that's not weird at all" – it only gets stranger. And stickier. And a lot of other things.
I don't really know how to rate this. I preferred it to "Triceratops and Bottoms" for the simple reason that I prefer novellas and novellas to short stories, but while "Dino Stud" was basically exactly what I was expecting (god, how innocent and uninitiated I was), and "Triceratops and Bottoms" was off the rails but entertainingly so, this is about ten thousand times more horrifying, and I guess by now I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Or both. Five stars: yes. One star: yes. Read at your own risk.
Listen, I knew going in, it was going to be off the wall, but wow. I didn’t expect what I read.
We’ve got a dinosaur and human pairing, an arm getting eaten, a 3 way, a couple on the run and then you end up at a slaughter house.
Wild ride.
It was a quick read but so unexpected. The dinosaur love interest wasn’t even the craziest thing about this book lol.
Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for the chance to review! (I say as though I'm not totally confused on what I just read)
SO....that happened? I'm bewildered in the best way possible and I think I enjoyed it? This was a wild read, fraught with danger, weird technology and Wal-Mart? Also I don't know how to censor the word for this, but the scene where someone was up to their elbows in Tannis? That was unexpected? Weirdly, I think I would read this again, though I couldn't tell you why. At the very least, I was laughing myself to death throughout, and that made it worth it. Well done Lola Faust (which also, your last name literally means fist and if that's not ironic idk what is)
Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an egalley in exchange for an honest review.
Oops!... I DID IT AGAIN!
The third Lola Faust dinosaur erotica went down quite smoothly. This one is about Tanis, a young Albertan who is rescued from her father's brutality by Big Al, a dinosaur with a great libido. Honestly, I was never a big dinosaur fan as a kid( though I adored Land Before Time) but I do find these stories quite entertaining.
If you don't take yourself too seriously as a reader, give them a go! And if anyone gives you a hard time about reading dinosaur erotica, remind them you could be doing drugs!

OK, PLEASE HEAR ME OUT. I decided to read this just to get my NetGalley feedback ratio up, then immediately thought it was the weirdest shit (tbh, the arm thing is just the tip of the iceberg and it truly is The Weirdest Shit), but I will say that this book kept me on my toes and in the end it turned out to be quite endearing?! Like, I kinda loved the sweet way Big Al spoke to Tanis?!? And if you can get past said weird shit, I think you'll see it's really a story about — and this is the part where you REEEACH for these with me — love conquering all, overcoming prejudice, and the importance of allyship, among other salient points?!?!? Oh my god I can't believe I'm typing all of this and I feel 100% blindsided or bamboozled or whatever, and I am way too old for this jfc, but holy shit, 4 stars for the wild ride.
Well we can’t really blame anyone or be surprised by the content of this story after reading the extensive trigger warning list. I mean that should have been warning enough.
I saw this book on TikTok.. I’ll blame that. This story is wild. Tanis, a dinosaur lover.. meets Big Al. Does anything else need to be said?! It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but I think it would be impossible to make it .. make sense.
There is some very spicy scenes between Tanis and big Al, if Dino love is your thing then this is your jam.
This is so bad, it’s good. I had to keep reading to find out what happened despite being shook by events.
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Smut meets parody a la Chuck Tingle's early work. I am uncertain Lola Faust has the commitment of staying power, but who doesn't love a cover like that?
Ah, how I do love an interspecies romp! This was pretty much exactly as advertised, and it did not disappoint. Tanis is a human girl who has spent her life on her family's farm. But this isn't just an ordinary farm, this farm uses dinosaurs for slave labour! Not fun, exactly, and Tanis is pretty squarely in the 'liberate dinos' group.
Tanis and 'Big Al' as he's referred to, because his name has never been spoken by a human, and is probably just a list of gutteral dino sounds, are quick acquaintances when Tanis is shot in friendly fire, by her family. Discovering that Big Al and all dinosaurs aren't just unintelligent animals, she lets Big Al rescue her from her horrible family.
The spice is pretty upfront, which usually works best in this genre, because isn't that why we're all here...? And if you loved Katee Robert's 'Dragon's Bride', then you might have a new fave series in Lola Faust, and by the looks of it...there will be more!
These kinds of novels aren't meant to be realistic exactly, but I did especially love the epilogue, where you could tell that Faust put some serious thought into the resolution. It was definitely what sold the whole concept for me, because if I'm being honest, dinosaur spice isn't exactly up my alley. And after reading it, I don't think I'm personally obsessed, I will probably give the second a go!
Because like I said previously, this was a lot of fun, and I love reading how all of these wild and silly scenarios are usually deeply rooted in finding love, and acceptance, regardless of species.
(3.5 stars)
SMH. I was kinda dared to read this and since it was on NetGalley and was only 68 pages, I figured why not. This is bad. So bad, but also hilarious in how bad it is? Is this on purpose?? I can’t tell! It’s readable and I didn’t want to stop reading either. I had to know where it was going and why because nothing made sense. None of Tannis’ decisions or actions made any sense at all. She gets shot while running away and then is willing to lose her virginity immediately while bleeding out? Yeah. Ok. And then how her injury is handled??? ::shudders:: This could have been ok for monster smut without the blood and body horror imo. Although I will say there is a VERY extensive trigger warning list in the preface so I (& you) can’t say we weren’t warned. LOL
Thank you to NetGalley & the publisher/promoter for the free copy.
Love the cover! If you're wanting a quick nonsensical erotica read then this is your book.
In this Futuristic Fantasy Tanis is a young woman who has always dreamed of the dinosaurs she sees from a distance while working on her family farm. Big Al is a dino who lusts after Tanis, thus starts their adventure.
They go through a number of trials to be together but in the end love and dino sex wins the day.
If you were looking for a literary classic go to your nearest search engine and type 'top 100 books of all time' but if you were looking for a short, fun, and yes absurd fantastical erotica read this definitely could fill that bill.
So fun! I can't wait for the next one from this author!
Thank-you to author Lola Faust, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for providing me with a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Dinosaur smut at it's finest! I have read a few other books from this author and I can see the progression in her writing and appreciate it for what it is.
Very creative crossover of human/dinosaur interactions and domestication. Yes, it's erotica, but had a plot and was interesting between the sex scenes.
This book was amazing because I’ve never read anything more unsettling and disturbing. No horror book I’ve ever read compares to the horrors of the description of a dinosaurs tongue.
I’m sad I read this because of the imagery, but what a trip.
Dinosaur love on a whole other level !
A fellow book lover recommended this book to kick a reading slump stating this was unlike anything I would have ever read. I don’t tend to read spicy books but after reading the reviews were all found this bizarrely entertaining- how could I not?!?
The Verdict - everyone was absolutely right.
Who doesn’t love dinosaurs?!?
Maybe not quite as much as our protagonist but I digress.
This book was completely unexpected!
Plot itself was pretty good. It was a head game on how exactly this would work out - ummm - It really is infeasible. All in all this book made me laugh out loud. I absolutely recommended reading the authors note at the beginning for triggers - one of which is Canada. Too funny!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for this advanced read.
Um.
This book is almost defying my ability to review it. I don't know whether to give it one star or five stars. It's one of the worst things I have ever read.
And yet it was stupidly entertaining.
It was only a short novella. I don't know if I could have dealt with a full length novel, but the plot (such as it was) did feel a bit rushed.
It's full of romantic erotica clichés and amazingly terrible euphemisms and girls who don't know they are beautiful but are, and a hot allosaurus lover with an Elvis quiff... unfortunately for the entire book I was imagining a tall man in a T Rex costume since my brain couldn't comprehend how a full size allosaurus and a woman could do the do. And these are images my brain did not need in it.
It's funny. It's entertaining. It's awful, but (I think) self-consciously so.
This was...shockingly well-written, with commentary on respecting unconventional relationships and on the American workforce. Alongside the passionate dinosaur smut.
I'm not going to lie I got this book as a joke cause I thought it would be fun to make fun of it but I actually really enjoyed it. The author clearly knows exactly what this book is and doesn't take it to seriously and that made this a really fun read. Sure I was laughing a lot but it was because I was just having a really good time. The spicy scenes were actually pretty good and the drama was fun. I would actually love to read this as a full length novel. I am eager to see what else this author has.
I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This... might be one of the strangest reading experiences I've ever had. Nevertheless, as a previous reviewer stated, I found myself craving more by the end of it. While the book comes in at a slim 56 pages, it is nevertheless action-packed. True to its genre, there are a fair number of sex-scenes, but unlike other bits of erotica I've read, this book still had a fair bit of plot jammed in between the smut.
Big Al was a lovable character, slowly learning more about human mores and expectation. Tanis is a compelling protagonist, coming into her own and very much taking charge where need be. She's here to protect her... Dino Man even as he protects her in turn. They were a good interspecies pair, and the author was careful to portray the dinosaurs as just as intelligent as humans to avoid any iffy consent issues. Also, very much appreciated the content warnings at the front, even if they are baffling to read.
Lola Faust is a fun author, and I'd be happy to read more of her. Also, kudos to include the beautiful (and likely scientifically accurate!) plumage on the dinos. Pity that isn't on the cover. But hey, the more feathered dinos we get the better.
I requested this after reading Dino Stud and thought that it would be the same vibe but sadly it was a completly different vibe.
This book is about Tanis, a country girl who loves dinosaur and Big Al who is a dinosaur.
The story was very short and felt really rushed. Most of the story were "spicy" scenes and no real plot. I didn't expected a huge plot but the story hadn't any plot at all.
A positiv thing was, that the story was easy to follow and I couldn't really put it down because I wanted to know what could happen next.
Dino 🍆s and a love story for the eras - the prehistoric era.
This plot was wild… and that’s coming from someone who read a MM romance about shapeshifting balloon animals!
Honestly, it was a super fun read and I thought the writing was good. Fast-paced and SO imaginative. I found myself frequently laughing out loud at this amazing world that Lola Faust built.
It is an Insta-sex read and you get right to the good stuff. I don’t know if I would classify it as a HEA ending though.
