This is the second book in this series featuring Jinx and her team - in my opinion reading the first book would be of benefit to put the characters and their place in the world in context
Jinx , no longer demon possessed , is still recovering and working through the implications of the battle they have just fought - trust issues aside ,the physical and mental issues alone will take time and work through
Following another demon attack Jinx and her team realise that detective work might just hold the clue as to just what is going on - can they work together as a team again ?
As is normal for Jinx nothing goes as planned - leading to fast and furious ending , full of twists and turns- "kitty" included !
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Great read, if u like books about demons angels and oh yes a cat, u will love this read. Jane is a demon hunter, Dis a demon, but the are part of a team looking for the demons that are out to destroy mankind. Can they defeat the evil?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
I loved the first book of the series. and this book also is great.. I love the world building interesting dialogue and characters.
This is book 2 in a series, and while I think you could probably eek by using context clues here, it’s better to begin at the beginning.
The story picks up in the aftermath of a truly PTSD inducing battle that Jinx and her team are all still working through. Every member is different degrees of messed up, physically, mentally, or both. In the case of D and Jinx, there is some trust broken and they are playing keep away until yet another demon attack draws them together again. Oh, and there’s a kitten involved this time. While they try to figure out working together again, the entire team is trying to pick up the pieces that the escaped demons have left.
The big story here involves some nefarious activities seen at the latest demon attack site, which leads them to a plan of infiltration and what is supposed to be detective work. Nothing ever goes as planned for Jinx, though, and she is still trying to figure out life without being possessed. The end here came fast and furious with twists and turns that kept the pages flipping. While we get a lot of hints in this book, I’m interested to see how Jinx deals with some revelations in future installments.
Unexpected. That is the best word to describe this amazing journey of finding your passion and love then having the courage to grab it with both hands. Truly surprised by this story which is very difficult to review without giving away any of the amazing twists and turns. My best advice is to dive in and enjoy.
With this being the second book in the series I went and read book 1 before starting. So make sure you start on book one. This book continues where book 1 ended and the brings the whole crew along to continue their mission. Lots of action with a little bit of romance. Can’t wait to see what they get into in the next book
