A new twist on the Ex-Wife story - great book!
The Ex Wife was a thrilling read, I was hooked from the start and I was so eager to work out what had happened. There were so many twists in the story and some were really shocking. Normally a book written about an ex wife can be predictable but this was told in a unique way which was so good.
Alice is under arrest and awaiting trial after supposedly killing Norah, the finance of her ex husband. All the evidence points at her being guilty and nobody believes her innocence. Alice has been keeping her open secrets from the family and nothing will every be the same after it is revealed.
I thought I had guessed the secret Alice was hiding but it wasn’t even close. Most of the characters were unlikable in the book so it made me question everything while reading. The build up to the reveal of this information was so exciting and the pace increased. I couldn’t stop reading the ending until I had finished it. I really enjoyed this book and I recommend it.
Wow. Kudos to the author for putting up this interesting book.
I quite enjoyed this. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
An ex wife and a new wife, secrets and revenge what more could you possibly want /need in a book?
This was extremely fast paced, addictive and gripping. I throughly enjoyed it and couldn't put it down!
This book has all the things I love, past and present dual storylines, a trial, thrill, and an ex wife and soon to be wife.
Everyone head their own secrets, everyone has something to hide, but what will come out and what can stay hidden.
I love books that really play on who you think that character is and then switches everything around on you. There were so many plot twists, so many little findings in the dual storyline.
This book kept me guessing and kept me wanting to read more. It was an all around amazing read for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and will be picking up more books from this duo.
I don’t want to get too far into the book without giving spoilers, but honestly if you liked the book blurb then you need this book, well worth it!
I was lucky to receive an advance copy of The Ex-Wife by Sally Rigby; Amanda Ashby from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. I love these two authors and read everything they write as soon as I can. This was fantastic and I loved the fast pace of this book. I caught myself gasping a couple of times as some of the unexpected twists and turns. Once you start this, you will not be able to put it down so clear your schedule.
Alice at the start of the book is in trial for murdering her ex-husband’s fiancé. The book goes through different timelines to tell the story of how it got to that court case. Not usually a fan of different timelines and flashbacks but it did work for this book. Just when you think you had worked it all out, a twist happens and you have to rethink your thoughts. It is one of those books that you don’t really like any of the characters but you can’t stop reading to see how the story turns out.
I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.
This thriller has more twists than Lombard Street in San Francisco. The story opens with the ex-wife in jail and the string of events of how she got there unfolds. There isn’t a character in this book that doesn’t harbor a secret, a back story and sometimes both.
As the reader it’s easy to hate the ex, sympathize with the fiancé, nod at the shortcomings of the typical teenager (who gets pretty shocking news) and want to shake the husband into a reality check. A brother who’s idea of brotherly love is questionable and a shady boyfriend that you hate immediately rounds out the cast of characters.
The book paints the underhanded tricks of people desperately trying to hang on to old relationships and the start of new ones that carry hidden baggage.
A very entertaining and engrossing read.
Loved this book ! Kept me guessing . I couldnt stop reading it. I love unpredictability in a book. I love your writing style.
The Ex Wife is a great thriller with amazing twists, slow to start with but soon picked up pace. Look forward to reading more by this author.
This is a psychological thriller that starts slowly but builds up to a blistering pace with plenty of twists and unexpected turns on the way!
It’s a sign of a well-written plot when you can eventually start to piece together who you think might be responsible, only to be blindsided by another sting in the tale.
I had my suspicions about half way through as to who the culprit might be and my guess turned out to be right but I had no idea until the very end just how all of the threads connected. Even then, there was still another shock to the story and helped to explain details from the opening chapter. A definite ‘ah-ha’ moment!
Very cleverly written and with a tension that you could easily imagine translating well to a screen production.
There are several character with less than endearing qualities and almost all have secrets they are keen to hide. Cassie, however, is intensely likeable and it is impossible not to empathise with her plight.
A thoroughly entertaining read.
With thanks to the authors, Rachel at Random Resources and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to participate in the tour.
This is the 1st book I've read by these authors & I'll definitely be on the look out for more of their books, an enjoyable read!
A real page turner. It grabbed me from the start it had lots of twists and turns. A very enjoyable read.
Alice Hargraves is charged with the murder of her ex-husband’s fiancé, Norah. Everything points to her guilt, and no one believes her. Not even her 17 year old daughter, Cassie. There is one thing about Alice, though. She has a secret that she will protect at all costs.
I found it very hard to write a synopsis because it was a very “busy” book with a lot of interconnected stories. It was hard not to give anything away.
I struggled to finish this book. The twist was pretty good, but the end left me very disappointed and a little angry, to be honest. I felt like the ending was too abrupt. They were loose ends that needed to be tied up and they weren’t addressed.
Thank you, Netgalley and Boldwood Books for an arc in exchange for an honest review
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for granting me an advance copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

4 Stars
The story follows Anna, a woman who is devastated by her ex-husband’s upcoming marriage to Norah. Anna despises Norah and will stop at nothing to ruin her life and take back her daughter Cassie.
But Norah has a secret of her own that could expose Anna’s past and destroy everything she holds dear. As the two women engage in a twisted game of cat and mouse, they will discover that nothing is as it seems and that the truth can be deadly.
This was a fast-paced and suspenseful read; the authors have created realistic and complex characters and the plot is full of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. The writing style is easy to follow, with short chapters that alternate between Anna’s and Norah’s perspectives.
The Ex-Wife is a perfect book for fans of psychological thrillers that explore the dark side of human nature and the consequences of our actions.
Many thanks to Boldwood Books, Net Galley, and the authors for this ARC.
If you want a book that keeps you guessing, this is it. I am the type who always sees stuff coming, it’s hard to surprise me. I didn’t see this ending coming though! Well written, easy to get into, hard to put down.

Thanks to @rachelsrandomresources for a spot on this tour & apologies for the late review (the theme of April 😭)
Alice was married to Mark but he is now getting married to Norah. Norah is younger, prettier & about to get her rights to Mark's fortune.
Mark & Norah have decided to try for a baby & that could reveal Alice's deepest secret.
What lengths will she go to to stop that happening?
I LOVED this! I had no idea how it was going to end. I'd guessed from early on that one character was 'dodgy' but that's as far as I got!
If you love a fast paced gritty thriller then this is for you.
