This book was really good EXCEPT for the ending! Ugh - the last several pages really ruined it for me. I've forgotten the characters names already but this woman is divorced; her ex husband lives with his fiance. They are trying for a baby; the main character has a teenager which has problems. Her friends have problems. The story was abit all over the place but the fiance ends up murdered and it was a pageturner to find out what happened but again, the last few pages reveal was ridiculous. Plus I don't like when justice isn't served.
I really wanted to like this book more than I did as the premise sounded so good:

This was one of those books that was enjoyable to read but didn't leave a lasting impression. Much of the dialogue sounded unnatural, and I found the plot line rather trite; however, I see this duo has written other books, so I'm definitely going to check them out to make sure it was just this book that missed the mark.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the early copy. THE EX-WIFE will publish April 19, 2023.
My life was perfect until she came along. Norah. Younger, prettier, and about to marry my own ex-husband, they are a walking cliche. I hate her. I hate them both. she's taken everything from me - my husband, my life, my home - but I refuse to let her take Cassie, my beautiful daughter. Now I've discovered that Norah plans to have a baby of her own and that causes me no end of problems. She could destroy everything and reveal my deepest, darkest secrets.
Alice is on trial for the murder of her ex-husband's fiancรฉ. The story goes back and forth, between past and present day, telling us of the event that took place leading up to the trial. I wasn't sure how this story would resolve itself. I was not keen on any if the characters, so I wasn't really fussy if Alice was guilty or innocent. But there was something about the book that made me keep reading. There were a couple of good twists and a big one at the end.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the authors #SallyRigby #AmandaAshby for my ARC of #TheExWife in exchange for an honest review.
A special than you to the author, NetGalley and publisher for this uncorrected copy in exchange for my honest review.
The ex wife was a page turner, right from the opening chapter. Great characters, good family drama and a murder, where you think everything is laid out for you from chapter one, but nothing turns out to be what I it seems. I didnโt see the end coming! I would definitely recommend this to others!
Alice is going to prison, but is the crime she committed may not be true. Skip back to a few months ago when Alice was traded in for a newer model, oncology nurse Norah. Alice will do anything to protect her child and if that means keeping secrets from 18 years ago she will. Cassie the daughter is on the rocky path as every teenager who doesnโt get along with her family and makes questionable decisions. The true question is who really committed the ultimate crime?
You know itโs a good read when itโs complete within a day and a half and reading between shifts at work. The Ex-Wife was captivating and piecing the puzzle together until the end. I thought Alice would be some at home bored housewife with did not have the will to do much since the split from her husband. Alice definitely gives off stalker vibes and seemed to just go along with being arrested. The plot twist at the end was one I did not see coming and added that last bit of spark in the end. The story itself was believable and just wanted to make me keep reading till the end.
will be shared on release date. @mindonthepages
Allison and her husband Mark have divorced sheโs trying to raise her daughter Casey without living in the lap of luxury she was used to with her husband her and her daughter Casey have not been getting along so sheโs been staying with her dad and his new fiancรฉ Nora something that drives Alice to distraction. She becomes so consumed with it she even starts following Nora around so when Nora goes missing in this found dead Alice is the prime suspect her daughters boyfriend has also been found deceased something else they blame Allison for they say she was a very overprotective mother because when I was younger she lost her sister Jasmine due to drug addiction and she doesnโt want the same ending for her beloved Casey The bad things no one knows and if Alice doesnโt want to spend the rest of her life in prison and to keep Casey safe sheโs going to have to come clean. I have read sally Rigby books for years and this is the first thriller of hers that I have read and I think she has done a wonderful job I know this was cowritten with Amanda ASB a writer Iโm not so familiar with but will definitely look for her books in the future. This is not only a great thriller but I thought the way she makes the detective instructor look only shows what a great talent she has. I loved this book and highly recommend it! I hope this is just the beginning for Miss Rigbyโs thriller career as I said she has been one of my favorite riders for many years I received this book from NetGalley in BoldWoodBooks but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
It would be easier if she excepted her fate, six months since her daughter had.
In the courtroom, a familiar face, a light shining thru on him, she now knew.
To protect her daughter, was the important thing now.
A chilling plot of secrets, lies, and finding what some people are really like.
Readers will enjoy reading this captive story till the last pages,
Given ARC for my voluntary review .by Net Galley and Boldwood.
I
An engaging thriller full of twists and turns you don't see coming. This is faced pace with alternating POV's, I liked Alice and Norah but Cassie was really annoying and immature to me, even for her age so I struggled with her POV although I see how it added to the story and was needed. The overall story was okay I don't think it is the best thriller at there apart from the ending was very shocking and I didn't see it coming.
Alice once had it allโa perfect family complete with a rich husband, a beautiful house, and a daughter she adored. Then came Norahโฆ
Alice now lives in a house that is a considerable step down from her old one with its beautiful garden and her light-filled studio. Sheโs struggling to make ends meet as an illustrator, something that used to be just a hobby but now must pay the bills. Mark now loves someone else, and Cassie is resentful of her new life.
Alice finds out that Norah plans to have a baby of her own and that poses many problems. All the deep, dark secrets that Alice has kept hidden for years risk being exposed. Alice must do whatever it takes to make sure that doesnโt happen.
This novel is a page-turnerโฆone minute youโll think you have it all figured out, then thereโs another twist and youโre back to trying to figure it out all over again. I would definitely recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys mysteries and thrillers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #TheExWife
Great thriller with believable characters and some plot twist that kept me on my toes. Highly engaging.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This surpassed everything I was expecting from the blurb! It's actually the only book that's hot me out of a bit of a reading slump and I've gone from a dozen books I couldn't get more than halfway through, to a book I could not put down for love nor money!
These characters are so well written and real. They're unique and it's just so easy to become invested in their loves and their circumstances.
The plot is constantly moving forward and the twists...... omg the twists...... I absolutely did not see them coming and they had my jaw on the floor.
It felt such a quick read and every chapter got me more and more hooked!
The #1 suspect is always someone close to the victim.
I really enjoyed this one. Very quick read. The twist and turns had me guessing.
Brilliant story! This book was thoroughly engaging throughout and had some fantastic twists. Authentic characters that were totally believable.
Wow what a great read.
I really enjoyed this and couldn't put it down. So many twists and turns.
Cassie, Mark and Alice were a family until Mark left. Cassie world is split 3 ways, her mums, dad, future step mum and boyfriend Scott.
Unfortunately cassie step mum Norah died but who murdered her?
Alice is arrested for her murder, is that right?
This is SO MUCH MORE than a book about an Ex wife!
The prologue lays the foundations of a fantastic book that is hard to put down.
The book goes through the gears introducing us to Alice Mark Cassie Norah Scott and Felix. The writing is addictive in telling the past hidden truths that leads to blackmail. The various twists comes along when I thought I had it solved only to have to start again.
Half way through we get introduced to DI Belinda Day & DS Ryan Walton and the book takes on a new dynamic but remains the page turner right to the very end with me on the edge of my seat.
Thank you Sally & Amanda for another enjoyable read x
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an early copy of The Ex-Wife. This book was full of Surprises and they were Great ones too!!! Very fast reading, I really wanted to know who did it and what a shocker when I found out!! I donโt want to give too much away but wow Cassieโs DNA WHOAAAAAAAAA!!! I loved this roller coaster of a ride novel.
Yes! I love a good thriller and this one was no exception! This book had me hooked early on, and I couldn't put it down. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, I was surprised by just how wrong I was. This book will keep you guessing until the very end.
Alice had a perfect life, an amazing husband, and a beautiful daughter, until she didn't. She had it all until Norah came along, this beautiful young woman taking her place. She stole her husband, her home, basically her whole life. But she wasn't about to let her take her daughter too. She knows it's wrong, following Norah around, looking through the window at the life she used to have, she couldn't help it, She lost it all and she wanted it back. But one day Alice sees Norah arguing with a strange man and things begin to unravel. Everyone has secrets, but some secrets prove deadly.
Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing me this book to read for an honest review
I thought the book was pretty good. I just found everyone was pretty loathsome. But, the ending was a real gotcha moment. Which made the book rating jump up. The ending just kept guessing and the book made my jaw drop!
Thank you to @netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

โจThis book was nonstop from the beginning with so many twists! It was so well written and you will not see the ending coming! I read this in one day because this is the literal definition of a page turner!
I just found out that this is the 4th book that this duo has written and now I have to read the others!
This was a decent thriller! It starts with Alice on trial for murdering her "replacement," the woman who her husband left her for. But Alice says she didn't do it. This becomes a whodunit, and there are a lot of suspicious people to choose from! It's written in third person, alternating from three women's points of view. It was pretty fast paced, and I liked the writing. The reveal is more of a bombshell than a piece the clues together book. Overall, I enjoyed it!
