I can’t wait to read this full book! Part cookbook part travel guide. All Gordon. The recipes included sound amazing and would make an awesome supper. The pictures were stunning.
ARC provided by Netgalley.
As this is only a sample to the book itself, I tried to remain partial to the content given. I love everything Gordon Ramsey; he was one of my favorite chefs on Food Network, I've adored eating at Hell's Kitchen, and I watch anything he's in every chance I get. I was really excited at the prospect of this book because it is him and National Geographic combined, which is sure to produce and artistically done book where the images and texts pop out to the reader, begging to be displayed on a wall.
I was completely right in thinking I'd enjoy this. Again, since it's a sample, only a few pages are shown. But the images are astoundingly rich in color and detail, while the text urges you forward to cultures you may not yet be familiar with and recipes that are sure to leave your mouth watering just by looking at it. I can't wait to have access to the full book.
I absolutely love Gordon!! He’s so much fun to watch and his food always looks delicious!! I can’t wait to get his book to try out at my hand at some new recipes.
Engaging and informative extract from Gordon Ramsay's newest collection of recipes! learning more of the tradition and stories behind the culture of the dishes brings a roundness to the recipes. Can't wait to read the rest!
What a lovely sample! I've never seen the television show for which this is the companion book -- but, oh my. Amazing photography, interesting sidebars, and delectable recipes. According to the index (the sample only includes part of the Morocco section), the book covers 21 locations, and if all are presented as beautifully as this, it's definitely worth a look.
Thanks to NetGalley for this sample.
I didn’t realize I was requesting a preview, so that’s on me. We immediately get dumped in the Morocco chapter, which is fine, but a little confusing with no background. I assume the layout will be fixed pre publication but right now it’s very difficult to differentiate between sections. Source material is good.
All of the photos look great, and the recipes sound amazing. I also love the inclusion of vegetarian options. I can't wait to try these out!!
This book looks great!
The pictures are beautiful and there was some history and narrative included which I liked. The recipe included in the sample looks good and I'd love to see more of the book.
Travel meets food (meets celebrity chef): "Gordon Ramsay's Uncharted" takes the reader to 21 different locations for some vicarious travel and some less-vicarious meals. This sample chapter drops you in "The Mountains of Morocco" for a few pages of history and travelogue before finishing with three recipes—in this case, a beef dish, a carrot dish, and a sort of mushroom pizza.
This is not a part of Morocco that comes quickly to mind—I've never been to North Africa, and I automatically think desert, not mountains, so it's always nice to be reminded of the complexities of far-off places. (For some reason I'm also fascinated by a description Ramsey gives of camel meat—I'm vegetarian, so it's not information applicable to my own life, but it sort of makes me hope that someone somewhere has written, or will write, a book of recipes from scattered places using ingredients that you *can't* source easily in the West. Spiced carrots are grand, and that one's a recipe I can even make(!), but it doesn't pique my imagination like camel meat does.)
Other places the book draws from include Tasmania, Norway, and Croatia, and the Michigan UP. Although I'm not a foodie, I'd be very curious to see a recipe list—I have so little context for what foods might come out of those places. This will definitely be an interesting set of recipes for anyone who likes to dig into new foods when they travel.
Thanks to the author and publisher for providing this sample through NetGalley.
"Gordon Ramsey's Uncharted sampe was fascinating with all the locations. The recipes looked absolutely yummy. This book brings world traditions into each mouth watering dish. This is definitely a must read book. I look forward to cooking some of these recipes.

I got a fantastic SAMPLER of this upcoming book and cannot wait to read the whole thing. Great recipes with none of the snark. Highly recommended.
I can tell from the sample chapter that I will definitely want to read the rest of the book! Gorgeous pictures, and stories of the people he met while he was in Morocco. Lovely recipes, I can't wait to try the Harissa-Spiced Moroccan Carrots!
I love Gordon Ramsey and from this sample I can tell this will be another cookbook to add to my collection. I love food from all around the world and who better to learn that from than Gordon Ramsey
I absolutely adored the SAMPLE CHAPTER of Uncharted. I'm currently planning my 2nd trip to Morocco, so I was thrilled to see the Sample Chapter was in fact, the Morocco chapter!
What I love most about the Nat Geo Unchartered series is Gordon's authentic passion for the people he meets and how deeply and authentically he immerses himself in the culture, ancestral traditions and regional specialities of the places he visits. This book perfectly encapsulates the series. The sample chapter is replete with stunning photography, mouthwatering recipes and evocative personal anecdotes that command a strong sense of destination.
I cannot wait to buy this book!
Ahh! I wish this was more than just a few pages!! The descriptions were gorgeous. The pictures were beautiful and yet it was all still very Gordon-esqe. I could hear his voice as I read it. And there were some recipes at the end based on the ingredients that he had talked about finding on his missions. As a huge fan, even though I am not a huge cook or chef, I would enjoy this for the visual aspects and to see more of his travels as I absolutely loved the tv show it’s based on. Would also make a great gift for the foodies in your life.
Thanks to National Geographic Books and NetGalley for the eArc in exchange for my review.
I love Gordon Ramsay and this book looks gorgeous! The recipes look delish and the photos are beautiful. I can't wait to see the full thing!
This looks like a very interesting book. I enjoyed the inclusion of people pictures of the landscape, people, and foods. I’m looking forward to making the Moroccan carrots. I look forward to reading more this book.
The Netgalley sample I read and reviewed included eleven pages.
