Milk & Mocha was an absolutely adorable collection of the infamous web comic!
If you are looking for something cute to read to pass the time, or just a pick-me-up after a bad day, this is perfect!
Milk & Mocha can be enjoyed but people of all ages!
This book was given to me through Netgalley for my honest review. I want to thank Netgalley, the Author, and the Publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
I absolutely loved this cute little collection of Milk and Mocha comics. I honestly felt like the person who put Milk and Mocha together has watched my life a little bit. I'm almost absolutely certain that I'm Milk in the instance of Milk and Mocha. I think that these two characters are absolutely adorable and I highly recommend these little guys to anyone and everyone.
I have no recollection of requesting this book and no copy of the book has ever been downloaded so gosh knows how that happened! Looks like a cute cover.
I appreciate Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this copy but I sdly have to admit i didn't like it. It has nothing wrong, it simply wasn't for me. it didn't involved me in the story. It was too simple and plain.
Simply cute and adorable. I'm a sucker for cute graphics and recall seeing the authors work on social media. Definitely give this a read!
This comic was perfect! I follow Milk and Mocha stories since two years now and there are just so cute together. This was such a light and funny read.
Milk & Mocha Comics Collection; Our Little Happiness by Melani Sie was super cute!! I was truly thankful to have gotten to read this before most people! I would like to purchase this one for my physical library!
Some comics are just awwww! And they make you smile because you are reveling in their wholesome nature. Reading this collection of the webcomic Milk Mocha Bear from start to end is the perfect stress buster for a rough few weeks.
Milk and Mocha are bears who live together. Milk falls asleep during movie nights and adopts an itty bitty dino left out in the rain, while Mocha reads and takes "memeable" photos of Mocha when the opportunity arises. They don't need others to listen to them, just that one special person. Despite Mocha being more reserved between the two, he adores Milk and will humor the latter's extroversion even if it drains his introversion batteries. Mocha doesn't speak, but he knows how to communicate, while Milk remains a hungry chatterbox. After all, they both have cellphones, and have lived together for a while.
Totally recommend reading this one when you have a low day. Milk and Mocha make a really sweet couple, and they give a person hope that real-life wholesomeness.
Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this comic collection. This is such an adorable comic collection!!!!!! It definitely is one that I would recommend someone should buy their significant other if they are a reader who loves cutie bears like I do. Its also one that could be read more than once. Because of these points, I have to give this a 5 out of 5 stars.
These were absolutely adorable. Not too much plot throughout, but the comics themselves were entertaining.
Thanks to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC of this!
This was the most adorable little comic about two bears in love. One of them is mute, and they have very differing personalities, but they take care of each other in such sweet ways.
This book was so cute and heartwarming. The illustrations were really adorable and cute. I enjoyed my time reading this book. I would recommend this book.
An easy read comics on two bears and their pet dinosaur. The lovey dovey vibes they emanate in most of the pages is cute, and sometime the interaction with the little pet add more sweetness to the story. Mostly drawn in four paneled story, this one can be read anytime, even when you have a short break, to boost the moral.
What a cute little collection of comics. The art is adorable. If you already know these characters you will enjoy this one.
My partner and I have always adored the Milk and Mocha Comics, so I was thrilled to see it available on Netgalley! With one grump and one ray of sunshine, I think that many people in all different types of relationships whether romantic or plantonic can relate to these two cute bears. This book was a quick read because it was so hard to put down and easy to flip through!
Melani Sie’s Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Happiness is a heartwarming and charming series of comics depicting quiet moments in the life of two little bears. I love the simple and happy stories as well as the cute art. But, I wish there was less repetition in the topics of the panels.
This sweet book instantly brightens up your day! It is also a quick and easy read. Most of the time, each page features a self-contained four-panel comic. These little slice-of-life vignettes are a lovely insight into these bears’ lives. Quietly serious brown bear Mocha and talkative and hungry white bear Milk are such a lovable pair! Their opposite but ultimately complementary personalities work wonderfully together.
These comics consist of relatable scenes like Milk and Mocha eating together, cuddling, enjoying a movie, and taking care of the other when sick. I especially love the segments where they adopt a cute pet dinosaur Matcha who makes a wonderful addition to the family! There are also sad and unhappy moments but there is always a fitting happy ending. I really appreciate that the book makes the simplest little actions seem extraordinary. It really encourages you to appreciate and romanticise the joy in your everyday life. It’s also a great reminder that love doesn’t exist only in grand gestures but is more often found in simple and everyday acts of love and kindness.
However, the panels are repetitive. I would have loved to see Milk and Mocha spending more time outdoors or changing up their activities because there is a lot of eating and cuddling but not much else. I also really wish the story of Milk and Mocha’s meeting was placed at the beginning of the book instead of at the very end. It would be a better introduction to this world and would also clear up any confusion for new readers.
These panels are fun, cute, and colourful! The simple art style is sweet and joyful. The bears are such great characters with distinct and adorable expressions! Grumpy and clumsy Mocha is quiet and endearing. I can definitely relate to loud, energetic, and hungry Milk! However, my favourite is the funny and fiery dinosaur pet Matcha! I also love that you can’t distinguish the bears’ genders so you’re free to interpret their story as you wish.
🐻🐻🐻🐻 out of 5 bears!
Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.
This is a cute little book with stories about two bears (Milk and Mocha) that cover around a page each. It is nice to dip into when you want a little cheer up but it is also an easy one-sit read with adorable artwork.
I received a free copy of Milk & Mocha from Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
Such a cute little collection of wholesome comics! Reading this book filled my heart with warmth and love. A perfect little coffee table book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3.5 stars rounded up for an overall sweet treat.
A series of Indonesian author Melani Si. Originally a webtoon under @milkandmochabear, this new book collects the adventures of an adorable pair of bears; Mocha—a bit shy and introverted, and Milk—the effervescently outgoing balance to their relationship.
Heartwarming and sweet, those in search of simple, feel-good comics or manga will likely enjoy this. The artwork is bright and engaging, without being overly complex.
The only thing I really felt could elevate this from webtoon to full book would be longer, cohesive plotline. I would love to see their charm across a full adventure.
So, this looked super cute. I was really excited to see the comics, as I've never heard of this artist. And the very first comic set the tone for an adorable couple of bears, one of whom doesn't speak, the other who is perpetually hungry, and their little pet dinosaur.
So many of these are just WHOLESOME and adorable.
But. But but but.
I feel like a number of them may be inside jokes. Plenty of the comics do involve dialogue, including words written on a small board by Mocha, but a lot are nonverbal. And so many are sweet and don't require explanation.
But there are a lot of scenes where the lack of dialogue means there isn't an explanation. And I spent way too long studying it to try to find the sweet or the funny. It got a little annoying.
Really worth the time to read, but some of them are just...confusing.
