Book 57 of 200 ~ 2023

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ahhhh, who doesn't love Milk and Mocha must be loco. So frigging adorable and one too many similarities between my hubs and I... not that we are complaining. *lol*

You will ooooh, ahhhh, and awwwwwwww with each comic.

Given that I had the digital review version, unfortunately, I didn't get any stickers. Boohoo.

This adorable comic is perfect for all ages. The narration is mainly done through actions, and not through worse. It’s a story where you read it more than once you notice smaller details than you did the first time. I absolutely love the drawing style and the dynamic between the two pairs. One bear is more reserved while the other one not so much. The characters are relatable. There were a few scenes that reminded me of my best friend and her husband.

This is the type of work that would be perfect for a gift. What are your five or you’re 55. It has such in Dearing quality. I personally really enjoyed seeing the narration to the body movement. I’m currently studying animation and found this book to be helpful and noticing how to convey words without speaking.

This is the type of book where I would also walk merchandise like I would love to have stuffed animals of the two bears, T-shirts, etc

Oh my, I loved this collection of comics! I read this while sitting next to my partner and kept getting their attention so they could see all the scenarios that reminded me of us. No lie, I had a big smile on my face while reading. There were a handful of comics that confused me—I couldn't decipher them based on the context—and I kind of wish there was a more linear arc or at least a recognizable organization to all the stories, but these are small complaints. I could see this being a lovely keepsake present, and I'm so glad I got to read it!

These two are super adorable! I enjoyed their dynamics despite their differences. There were so many relatable moments with both of them. It was heartwarming how they show affection with few words.

Thank you Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for this eARC in return of an honest review.

I absolutely loved this comic. It's one of the fluffiest and most wholesome book that I've read so far this year.
Milk, Mocha and Matcha are just adorable.

Very cute, very sweet and very lovey-dovey strip collection about a white bear (obviously, Milk) and a brown bear (you guessed it, Mocha) that love, endure and... survive each other :)
Oh, and there's a tiny dinosaur in there, too (I guess taking cats or dogs as pets is too boring). Because it's green, his name is... Matcha. For the innocent westerners out there, that means "green tea powder".
The jokes are cute, quiet and sometimes surprising. Some other times, not so much. Sometimes wholly original, sometimes very tired. And yet, the whole book is nice, charming and calm, each strip a tiny pill of happiness - just what you need when life sucks.
I liked it, hence the three stars.

Disclaimer: I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. This didn't influence my opinion in any way.

❝Happiness can be the littlest, the simplest, and the silliest things that may seem underwhelming to others, but they can put a smile on your face and keep you going. This book is for those who love to enjoy all the little things. A little bit of happiness in the form of two bears living life with each other, being there for each other, and sharing joy and sadness with each other.❞

I have known about Milk and Mocha for years now, both the webcomic and all of the different stickers/emojis that you can use in texting apps and online. I use Milk and Mocha stickers/emojis so often, especially online in Discord .

I love polar bears, and I also like bears and teddy bears, so how could I not like these 2 cute bears that are Milk and Mocha.

I was happily surprised to see this book, and I’m definitely the right demographic for it since I already love them!

Milk and Mocha are 2 bears with opposite personalities. Milk also has a green pet dinosaur called Matcha.

I think most of us will be able to relate to both of them at different times and in different scenes from the comic, and think “that’s me!” or “that’s you!”. This is what makes Milk and Mocha even better, because we are able to relate to them and we are more likely to share this cuteness with others in our lives.

❝When I am with you, even silence, feels comfortable.❞

This book also tells us the story of how Milk and Mocha first met, and it includes never-before-seen comics. Something that I hadn’t realised before is that Mocha is mute so that’s why he talks by using his phone and writing board.

❝People said, “make a wish when you see a shooting star”, but I don’t need to... because you’re my wish come true.❞

I read the digital copy of this book and the only thing that would have made me love it more is if I would have gotten my hands on the physical stickers that are included in the hardcover copy of the book, because I love physical stickers and I would have loved to get Milk and Mocha stickers!

The "Milk & Mocha Comics Collection" is as adorable as can be! The art is precious and delightful, especially the expressions on their sweet little faces. I also love the addition of the tiny dino, Matcha. This collection will make you laugh out loud, say "awwww!" and fall in love with the characters over and over again. It is a little beacon of joy, happiness, and sweetness, and is highly recommended for all collections.

Milk & Mocha: Our Little Happiness is a collection of cute comics by Melanie Sie. Milk is a white bear, and Mocha is a brown bear. They both live together with their green little dinosaur, Matcha.

This comic follows Milk and Mocha’s lives, and they enjoy every little moment in their lives. The comic shows them doing mundane tasks and enjoying them together. Milk and Mocha are opposites of each other; Milk is playful and energetic, and Mocha is calm and patient. Mocha is mute but still communicates his love for milk by writing on a board or by text message. Even though they are different, they still enjoy each other’s presence.

The illustrations are super adorable. It is a cute and uplifting read. I enjoyed reading it.

this book was delightfully sweet and cute. i needed a small smile today, and this book definitely delivered. i follow melani sie’s art and i was pleasantly surprised to read this book. obviously, she did not fail to impress. her artwork is so cute and heartwrenching, and this little comic was a short yet very cute read.

the backstory was delightful and in every way illuminating. there are some scenes where i can see that melani uses colour theory to portray emotions. mocha and milk have two different personalities where melani draws out perfectly, and the dynamic yet straightforward colours embroider further importance between panels.

also, the little green dinosaur was so cute <3

i also want to address milk and mocha’s relationship. their platonic love and friendship is so sweet, and their chemistry and facial emotions were hilarious yet heartwarming. while this could be a quick read, spending time to look at melani’s work is really eye opening. you can tell she put effort into every panel and how the pictures interact and lay over each other. there aren’t many words, but the illustrations that portray their communication already speaks a lot.

overall, this book was such a cute read and i would love to see more of matcha and milk :)

Melani Sie’s ‘Milk & Mocha’ is one of the cutest webcomics in existence! Each comic is a page long, sometimes only a couple of panels, that showcases two bears names Milk and Mocha. This is a slice-of-life collection that is perfect if you want a pick-me-up read. Milk (a polar bear) has golden retriever energy while Mocha (a brown bear) has cat energy. If you have opposite energy friends (shoutout to introverts and extraverts) then you will instantly understand these two bears. They adopt a little stegosaurus dinosaur named Matcha early on in the comics, which is my absolute favourite character! Seriously, he’s so cute and I now need to find a small dinosaur to adopt. Feel free to follow Milk and Mocha’s daily adventures @milkmochabear.

Note: This review will be posted on @tealiterature in May. A link will be provided.

A very sweet book following Milk & Michu the bears, with special guest Matcha (who is ADORABLE) this was the perfect cool down read before bed time - it felt like a warm hug in a book!

The lack of written word allowed for further personal interpretation of some comic strips which was also a nice touch.

Very cute - like a warm hug in a book! Cannot wait to see more of them in the future!

Milk and Mocha are 2 little bears who found each other and a special love. They are opposites but manage to come together because of the love and friendship they have.
Such a sweet collection of comics. I wish I had a Milk to my Mocha.

This collection is super cute! My cousin's enjoyed looking at pictures just for the cuteness. They were able to determine their own story from it, though it wasn't always exactly the context presented. 😅
