Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for an e-arc of this delightful comic collection in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.
this was so hecking adorable. milk and mocha is a collection of moments between (you guessed it) milk and mocha BUT ALSO matcha, their little dinosaur pet who is a ball of cuteness. this made me so happy and giddy. i wish there were milk and mocha squishies that i could own. this was a very creative idea and it's so wholesome and soul soothing. 100% recommend for when you're having a bad day and just want to look at cute, love filled, domestic interactions between these two adorable bears and their lil dino.
I love these little bears! This comic is very nice and I loved learning how Milk and Mocha met. Very very cute!
I’ve never read something this precious in my entire 27 years living. I came across this gem by chance on NetGalley and just glancing that the cover I knew I was destined to be bffs with milk + mocha(and matcha obvi!) I especially loved this book because I saw so many glimpses of the daily life of my husband and I in the majority of the images. The love Mocha and Milk share is so raw and unconditional, and that’s the best way to be. Some days Milk gives a lil extra and sometime Mocha is the one lifting Milk up. Love is not always 50/50. Some days it’s 20/80 or 60/40, and that’s part of the beauty of it all. This was simply beautiful and touching and I’m so thankful for the chance I was given to experience this story on NetGalley for my honest review.
What are you waiting for? Go get your copy now! This piece is necessary for all personal library collections, no doubt.
This is the cutest comic I’ve ever read! Milk and Mocha are absolutely adorable. They’re total opposites but love, appreciate, and understand the other so much. This comic is such a good reminder to find happiness in the little things. Funny and heartwarming, it will endear many readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the digital ARC!
This comic collection was a very quick and fun read These comics were so cute and adorable. The characters, Milk and Mocha, remind me a little of my husband and me. They are so cute together and reading this just made me feel happy.
I really enjoyed this and I will definitely be looking up the web comic to read more.
4 out of 5 stars
A super cute little slice-of-life graphic novel (it's more of a picture book). This was a short and cozy read so I definitely recommend it to people who enjoy just pure wholesomeness. My only complaints are that the panel reading layout is a bit strange for at least the version I received and the listing price for this is $16 for a paperback which I think is a bit much.
Disclaimer: I received an arc digital copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
This was extremely adorable! The art style was simple but really did its job (they’re so cute!) and the stories comics themselves had som really sweet messages.
This is so so so sweet. Milk and Mochas relationship is so adorable. These slice of life comics are so wholesome and made my heart so happy. Matcha the dinosaur is such a cute addition too! Some of the Milk and Mocha moments remind me so much of me and my girlfriend so i am beyond excited to have the physical copy once published. I really cannot wait to see more of Milk and Mocha and Matcha in the future!
If this ain't the cutest thing ever! ♡
Milk & Mocha follows the life of a pair of white and brown bear, portrayed in simple comic. I've seen these two as stickers on social media a lot, but I never knew they have their own stories. Milk and Mocha, together with their tiny dragon pet, Matcha, spends time together, creating a very wholesome graphic novel to read.
The illustrations are absolutely adorable, and I love the way how Milk always expresses its love towards Mocha and Matcha (I use "it" to refer to the character because I believe none of their genders are revealed). Matcha seems more attached to Milk, but there is a point where Milk goes somewhere and Matcha ends up cuddling with Mocha instead and it is just the cutest thing ever! This book is something you can read when in need of cute and cuddly moments.
I squealed and gushed so much while going through this one, but I think the most precious part is when the backstory of how Milk and Mocha started living together was revealed. I love love them so much ♡
"What does happiness mean to you?
Is it the taste of strawberry on top of your cake? Or is it the funny memes you discovered while scrolling online? Or is it waking up next to your loved one and seeing their sleeping face?
Happiness can be the littlest, the simplest, and the silliest things that may seem underwhelming to others, but they can put a smile on your face and keep you going.
This book is for those who love to enjoy all the little things."
I didn't knew this webcomic before seeing this collection on Netgalley and what a great discovery! I fell in love with the art, the bright and pastel colors, the characters, the message conveyed behind the webcomic!
"people said, "make a wish when you see a shooting star" but I don't need to because you're my wish come true"
This book is just about celebrating and creating little moments with your loved one. And I'm here for it! Now I'm just waiting for the physical version to buy it! Honestly, there is so many scenes I wanted as a phone wallpaper!
"When I am with you, even silence feels comfortable"
If you like cute art, enjoy and find beauty in little things and swoonworthy scenes, this webcomic is for you!
This was an absolutely adorable and quick read! Milk, Mocha, and Matcha remind me so much of my own relationship. Definitely a good pick me up kind of book.
This is an absolutely perfect slice of life comic--it feels like being wrapped up in a big fuzzy blanket with a steaming cup of tea in your hands. Although a little short (you can finish this in under 10 minutes unless you really take your time to admire the details), Milk & Mocha is a great little book to settle down with when you need to relax. The art was absolutely adorable, and I grinned all the way through.
From a representation standpoint, Mocha is nonverbal, which I greatly appreciated. Nonverbal characters rarely appear in prose novels or comic books; Melani Sie did an excellent job.
This is an adorable web comic series about two bears and their pet dino. All the comics are super cute and it's just a fun and lighthearted read.
I enjoyed the graphics!! Super cute. This was a nice break between books Im reading. If you want something light and fun and to escape adulthood for a little bit, this is the perfect book!
Melani Sie made the most adorable slice-of-life comics I have fell in love with. I'm a huge fan of this comic when I see it every once in a while on Facebook. I think the little comics remind me so much about my own relationship and just the relatable cuteness of it really puts a smile on my face. I love how comic drawing artists use animal personas to depict real life scenarios because it makes them 10 times cuter than what we see in real life. Overall, the short comics were well colored and sketched, and I am dying to see what else this author makes in the future. I cannot wait until this publication comes out because I will definitely purchase it.
Milk and Mocha is a super cute comic about the friendship and love between two bears. The artwork is minimalistic and very adorable. The comic contains snippets of the daily lives of the bears that are very relatable. I read the book in one day and woul recomend it to my friends.!
A super cute slice of life comic! The artwork is so adorable, the comic really works with a less is more mentality. Just a wholesome, relatable comic about the small adorable things in a relationship.
I binged this cute little comic collection! This book features two bears, Milk and Mocha, and shows the funny, serious, or relatable moments of their every day lives. At the end of the collection, there is a comic with the backstory about how the two met! I really enjoyed this story and almost wished that it had been at the beginning of the book.
From a representation standpoint, one of the bears is able to talk and the other is not. The brown bear uses a little chalkboard to communicate. Typically when I see sensory impairment rep, the character is deaf so it was unique to see another type of representation.
Milk and Mocha was such a cute collection of comics! I love how one of the bears uses an AAC device. This was my first time reading about Milk and Mocha's adventures, and it was such a fun time. I would recommend this collection of comics to anyone who wants sweet, visual-based comics about love.
This was a bit mixed for me. I thought the artwork was really cute and there were a lot of the strips that I enjoyed. Nothing that made me chuckle even though some were intended to be funny. But I did have a lot of awe moments (which I'm sure were intended by the author) over how cute the characters are.
What prevented this from being a 4 star was that some of the comics just didn't translate well, literally, as there was awkwardness in the English text. But overall, I did enjoy Milk and Mocha as characters and Mochi. So much love for Mochi especially when the little dude was being temperamental.
