This is a book that everyone needs to read to get them in the Christmas mood. It was such a great story about two colleagues that are up for a promotion, and their journey to achieving it. The way they work against each other, and together is fantastic. It is so cute and a quick read, you will fly through the pages.
I received a free copy of, All's Fair in Love and Christmas, by Sarah Monzon, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. It is the Christmas season and graphic designer Mackenzie is feeling it, her company has a healthy holiday competition, but would she be brave enough to enter the competition? I like how this is a religious book, not just a Christmas book, Jesus is the Reason for the Season after all. I enjoyed this book, its short and sweet.
Such a warm, delightful and cozy christmas vibe kind of book! I am always attracted to everything that has to do with the holidays season so With books set in the time of the year it's no different. What a great surprise was to find a christian one, with romance, learnings and all the cheering of only christmas can make Us feel. Futhermore, I loved how the author had manage to discuss about mental health and faith and how this two subjects are not opposite, but compplementary. Well done, Sarah Monzon. I would definitely recomend this title to everyone.
I absolutely LOVE Christmas, so the currant of Christmas spirit driving the story really made me happy. From decorating trees to hiding presents, from gingerbread houses to cookie mishaps, this made me anxious for the holiday season.
Mack and Jeremy are genuinely good people trying to do the right things in life. Their romance is fated from the beginnings, but the story remains a lighthearted, quick read that will have you cheering for them anyway. As they each try to earn a promotion based on their own merit (rather than on any nefarious deeds), the kindred spirits can't deny their attraction to like-lights.
If you need a pick-me-up story that reminds you of the magic simplicity of the holidays, this is it!
Overall: 4 stars

This book is a quick read, hard to put down, and thoroughly enjoyable. Most of the characters are quite likable (except Frank, but every book needs a Frank for all the readers to "hate"), but the best ones in this book are the main girl and main dude, who happen to be rivals in their boss's competition for the yearly promotion.
Jeremy wants the promotion and commensurate pay raise because his teenage niblings are going to be needing cars, college funds, clothes, shoes, and groceries. Mackenzie's mom is in a memory care center and the costs are going up. Mackenzie needs the raise just as much as Jeremy does. Since the competition revolves around Christmas, Jeremy begins by pulling out all his stops and making pomander oranges for each member of the staff, but his next few efforts are less than stellar. Mackenzie's efforts are a bit more understated and subtle, but shows she knows her coworkers well and does all she can to recreate some of their best memories.
Sarah Monzon has written a completely entertaining book that will be a cozy read for the Christmas season, especially with a cup of hot cocoa in hand. The ending of the book is quite a surprise and quite satisfying. And I LOVE happy endings. Four Strong Stars.

BLURB:
Every December two things are guaranteed for graphic designer Mackenzie Graham--Christmas celebrations and the annual promotion at her workplace. Those two things are by no means mutually exclusive. In fact, the better an employee is at harnessing the Christmas spirit, the more likely they'll win the new job. With her social anxiety, Mackenzie never thought she'd be a contender in her company's holiday competition, so how exactly has she found herself dueling her workplace crush with wrapping paper tubes and using tinsel as her weapon of choice for a much-needed raise?
Jeremy Fletcher's life is meticulously planned out, including how to win this year's promotion at work. Not only will the new position fulfill some of his career goals, but as a single guardian to his twin niece and nephew, he needs the salary increase to support his family. Jeremy has barely noticed Mackenzie Graham around the office, but now that she's his rival, he can't stop thinking about her. Her quirkiness intrigues him, and he's afraid that if he can't get his head on straight, the promotion isn't the only thing he'll end up losing to Mackenzie.
MY REVIEW:
I loved this book! It was such a sweet, wholesome, Christmas read, perfect for the holiday season. Plus, I am a sucker for a single dad. I love how this book brings together two unlikely people, both with struggles of their own, and shows them what it means to open your heart and let someone else in.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.
