Kerry heads into New York City with her brother to help sell this years lot of Christmas trees since her father cannot go. It means a few weeks living out of an old camper with no kitchen or bathroom. It will be fine, right?

Kerry and Murphy have a strange relationship as with divorced parents they grew up separately. Hey never seem to get along, or agree on anything, in an annoying way. She always turns it into him not wanting to listen to a woman, when maybe that’s not it.

The story line was cute and enjoyable, but the characters didn’t mesh with me. Kerry was just blah, plain and somewhat annoying. And Patrick, the love interest was somewhat predatory. He was always right, always wanting things his way, wanted/expected physical relationship when Kerry wasn’t ready it didn’t sit well with me. Heinz was the saving grace of a character.

I wish I enjoyed the main characters more because it would have made the book more enjoyable for me.

This is like a Hallmark movie. It’s a quick, light read that will make you feel warm and fuzzy. There’s also not as much depth as I would like, but if you are looking for a holiday easy read then this is a great option.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the copy in exchange for my honest review.

Perfect story for the holidays! Christmas traditions, family, found family, and a community coming together in December.o

Kerry Tolliver has not been part of her family's tradition of selling Christmas trees in New York City since her parent's divorced when she was young. But this year she finds herself hauling Spammy, the ancient camper, from North Carolina to New York City. Her father has had a heart attack and she has been tasked with helping the brother she barely knows sell the trees. The experience is not what she expected. She finds a community that embraces the Tolliver's every year, gets to know her brother, and learns a lot about herself and what she wants out of life. The closer she gets to the people in New York City the more she wonders where her future lies.

A story of finding the confidence to trust yourself and to have the courage to create the life of your dreams.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This story resembles a Hallmark Christmas movie - brother and sister leave their small town for New York City in an attempt to save their family's Christmas tree farm. At the start, Murphy and Kerry are not close siblings, but have warmed up to each other by the end. Many colorful characters from the neighborhood they have set up shop in are sprinkled throughout the story and lend to the sugary sweet nostalgia of Christmas. I quick seasonal read!

This is a sweet Christmas romance about family and community set during the Christmas season in NYC. The story centers around a somewhat estranged brother and sister that must learn to co-exist together as they set up and sell their trees from their family Christmas tree farm. There is good character development and a fun story with ups and downs, but it centers around the community they and their parents have developed over the years. It is a delightful holiday romance. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book for my honest review.

One thing Kerry did not plan on when returning home to the family's Christmas tree farm, was having to step in and help sell the trees. Kerry's dad is returning home to recuperate from a heart attack and under doctor's orders to rest. Kerry grew up traveling and selling trees in their old Shasta travel trailer and did not want a repeat performance. Guilted into stepping up by her mother and brother, Kerry and her brother travel to New York and sets up the lot. Kerry slowly begins to warm up, especially when Patrick, and his son, Austin, begin to come around. Add the company of an elderly gentleman who will not reveal any information about himself, and things change. Add in the competition of a lower-priced lot, Kerry begins crafting wreaths for more income. Kerry, her brother, Queenie the dog, are going to make the best of the selling season, especially with the addition of her new found friends. Will Kerry be able to go back to North Carolina, or will the lights of New York, and possible love, keep Kerry in the Big City. Loved, loved, loved this book! I always look forward to reading Mary Kay Andrews books.

I am a huge Mary Kay Andrews fan and I loved Bright Lights, Big Christmas. The main character Kerry Tolliver has been hiding out at her family's Christmas tree farm in the mountains of North Carolina trying to figure out her life. Due to her father's illness, she has to help her gruff older brother & his dog, Queenie, sell the trees at the family stand on a corner in Greenwich Village. She and her brother are sharing a tiny camper and wile Kerry experiences Manhattan for the first time, During the weeks leading into Christmas, Kerry becomes close with the charming neighbors who live near their stand. Complicating everything is Patrick, a single dad raising his adorable son Austin on this quirky block. Will Kerry find her path again and maybe just the right person too? This is such a great book.

🌲 This is my second Christmas book by @marykayandrews and I think I loved it even more than I loved the first one I read (The Santa Suit).

🌲 I adored the setting (a Christmas Tree lot in New York), the holiday vibe, the characters, the romance, the 3rd act revelations… I even loved the camper! There is a found family element in the story, too, which is one of my favorite tropes. Everything was perfect!

🌲 I appreciated the main female character’s development arc. She learned to stop being so safe and to believe in herself, try new things, and trust others. I liked her a lot.

🌲 This book made me want to go out and buy a real tree this year. But if the prices that were mentioned in the story are legit, I’d have to take out a second mortgage on my house to buy one! Wow!

🌲 If you want a low drama, clean romance, light holiday read full of comfort and joy, then you need to read this book. I know you’ll enjoy it.

Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for an arc of this book, which I have read and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Bright Lights, Big Christmas has all the cozy Christmas vibes to get you in the holiday spirit.
The Christmas tree business is a charming idea, and the setting is nostalgic and filled with the comfort of the season.

I really liked the story, and most of the characters were likable. The only thing that took away from my enjoyment was Kerry's brother Murphy. He was annoying and showed a lot of needlessly rude behavior towards his sister. But despite that one issue, this was a wonderful feel-good addition to anyone's holiday reading list.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

The only other Mary Kay Andrews book I have read is The Santa Suit and it was so cute, I knew I had to give this one a try!

Kerry Tolliver has been tasked to drive and stay in New York City with her brother to help sell Christmas Trees from their family farm in North Carolina. Since she just recently became unemployed and moved in with her mother, she had some spare time to do so. Each year, Kerry's brother and Dad normally sell the trees, but because of a recent health scare, Kerry's mom will be helping to nurse her dad back to health. During their month long stay in Spammy, the family camper, Kerry gets to know the neighbors of the block they are staying on. Some neighbors though, she gets to know a lot better than the others and she starts to question whether she should return to her small town in North Carolina to live with her mom, or find other opportunities right here in the city?

This cute story just makes you feel nice and warm inside. This is a great Christmas book that even has a mention of The Santa Suit, which was a cute little connection. Andrews does a great job of creating characters that you care about.

A wonderful and light Christmas book. The Tolliver Family runs a Fraser fir tree farm in Tarburton in western North Carolina and for nearly four decades they have taken an annual trip after Thanksgiving with their fresh trees to West Village, New York. This year, Kerry an artist has to step in to help her family after their father returns from the hospital. With their cute 1963 Shasta trailer "Spammy" in tow, Kerry makes the 700-mile trip to their usual tree stand where she would stay with her brother Murphy and his English Setter "Queenie" until Christmas Eve. Kerry has some new and creative ideas that provides additional cash flow and sales so that the farm can meet the goals set each year. This was a cute and wholesome read. The author did a great job of developing the secondary characters. I adored them. I also enjoyed the small romance between Kerry and Patrick. This has a feel-good ending with the promise of a new beginning for Kerry, all with the happy holiday atmosphere.

Thank you to NetGalley, Mary Kay Andrews, and Macmillan

Wonderful story of a brother and sister whose family owns a Christmas Tree farm in the Carolinas. They pack up their camper named Spammy and sell trees in NYC every year. They are met with a strong cast of quirky characters and a great holiday story unfolds. I’m going to miss these characters!

This Christmas book was so fun to read and I drank it up in one big gulp as I wanted to know how it would all be tied up!!!

Murphy and his dad, Jock, take their beautiful NC Christmas trees to NYC every year and sell them in the same spot. Jock has had some surgery and it not able to travel so Kerry, Murphys sister will be joining him this year. The people who are around their space are very kind and give them a place to shower and get food as Kerry and Murphy live out of a small camper that they call Spammy!! There are lots of obstacles to overcome and the neighborhood people are like their family.

This is a great holiday read and one that will put you in a good, festive mood!! Highly recommend!!!

I devoured this book because I fell in love with the characters and their little corner of New York. You can almost smell the pine trees with how realistically written everything is, and reading about a part of the big city that still has that wonderful sense of community gave me the perfect seasonal feels.

This book was the perfect kick off to my holiday book binge!

Mary Kay Andrews has done it again! Bright Lights, Big Christmas is a delightful, easy read. Kerry and her brother Murphy go to NYC at Christmastime to sell Christmas trees from their family farm. Will they be able to sell enough to support the farm? And who will they meet and what will they learn along the way? Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Kerry Tolliver's family has been traveling from North Carolina to New York to sell Christmas trees for decades. She has fond memories of it as a kid, but hasn't participated ever since her parents divorced and she stayed with her mom and her brother went with her dad. Now, all grown up, she joins the brother she hardly knows on the annual trip and discovers that the bumps in the road that left her feeling directionless might have just been steps to finding the life she'd always dreamed of.

It's a fantastic book full of likeable characters and sweet moments set in a location that makes you want to live there just to be a part of the community. A very MKA book in the best possible way.

Delighted thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the wonderfully emotional romance!
