WILDFLOWER FALLS is the fourth novel in the Riverbend Gap series by DENISE HUNTER. I have read and enjoyed all the books in the series so far, but this one is my favourite, largely because of the horses and the whole country scene, the subtle Christian message and the author’s descriptions of the characters’ emotions. It is a story based largely on family dynamics, which I found very interesting. There is also an exciting romance …
I highly recommend Wildflower Falls as a most enjoyable and inspirational read.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Thomas Nelson. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
I always love and depend on Denise's books to be a favorite read. This one is no exception. In this book she combines a connection between two people along with a mystery of parentage of one of them. I loved the characters, the mystery that I couldn't figure out and the horse farm. Charlotte and Gunner make the perfect match. Family is the main theme here. It is a lovely book!
Thank you to Net Galley for allowing me to read this book. The opinions are entirely my own.
I love everything about every book I've read by Denise Hunter. What a gifted storyteller! She makes her characters come to life, and her settings are as vivid as a movie in my head.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
This is the first book I read from Denise Hunter. I did not know this was book 4 in a series and although you could perfectly read it as a stand-alone, I think reading the whole series will give you a bit more insight.
Charlotte and her sister Emmie inherit a horse farm after their mother passed away. Charlotte is very invested in the horse farm. Her hard work to keep the farm is admirable. Charlotte hires Gunner (a horse trainer ) on a temporary basis to get the training program up and running.
Charlotte had found out some family secrets and is on a journey to find out who her biological father is (and more, but no spoiler alert here).
When Gunner gets involved a friendship grows. Will Charlotte find the answers she is looking for? Will she and Gunner be together? These questions will get you stuck to the pages! It's so easy to relate to Charlotte and I love her development throughout the story. Gunner is incredible and after you learn about his childhood trauma, you can do nothing else than feel for him and hope with every word you read that they will end up together.
This was a beautiful read where all kinds of emotions will flow through you. I'm a big horse lover and adore small-town romance stories, so I will definitely read the rest of the series.
I really enjoyed all of the family drama going on in this book. Both Gunner and Charlotte have had family issues in their past, but don't a lot of people? Seeing Charlotte working to get her horse ranch going and all the work she put into it was great. Her sister also plays an important part in the ranch, but uses her own strengths for this. What a great trip back to Riverbend Gap and all the people there!
Another great read from Denise Hunter! Denise Hunter is my go to author for a feel good relaxing book and Wildflower Falls is no exception. I enjoyed how this one tied back into her last series. The plot is predictable but the characters and romance are sweet. Wildflower Falls is my favorite out of the Riverbend series!
I received an e copy of this book in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own. Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson.
I adored Denise Hunter's Wildflower Falls. I thought it was a fabulous addition to the Riverbend series. I am giving it five stars.
So good to be back in Wildflower Falls and with the Robinson Family. This story centers around Charlotte, who isn't a member of the Robinson family. She runs the local stable and hires on Gunner to work on training the horses. These two characters are really enjoyable as they go throughout the story. As a reader, one of my favorite parts of the Robinsons is their closeness as a family, it makes me long for that!
Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher for the arc. The opinions are my own.
Thank you NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I didn’t initially realise it was part of a series, so I think I would have been more invested if I had met all the characters before! But that’s okay, I can go back and read them from the start now!
Charlotte is on a soul-searching journey to find out who she is- who is her birth father and why did she grow up not knowing him? Gunner is running from childhood trauma, following the wind at the first whiff of attachment. Both of the main characters spend so much time denying feelings because of emotional baggage…but persevere my friends! The plot is strong, the dialogue is good, the characters are well developed. A solid 4.5 star read.
Wildflower Falls is book four of A Riverbend Romance series by Denise Hunter. These romances take place in a small town of Riverbend Gap.
If you like horses, small mountain towns, and cute horse trainers, this book is for you!
Charlotte Simpson is set on fulfilling her late mother's dream of expanding her mother's stables...and her own dream of finding her birth father.
Most people would think Gunner Dawson was full of wanderlust, but the truth is he's running from a painful past of loss and trauma.
Together Charlotte and Gunner go on a journey to discover family lost, and family found. They find love, but must also find the courage to stay when the ghosts of their pasts haunt them.
Wildflower Falls is my least favorite of the Riverbend Romance series, but still a great read. Gunners tragic past had me in tears! Denise Hunter is one of my absolutely favorite authors and I really don't think you can go wrong with her books. I can't wait to see what's in store next from her!
This is the 4th book in the series but can be read as a stand alone. This story is about Charlotte who inherits a horse ranch from her mother after her death. She has hired Gunner to help train horses. He is good at his job but doesn't put down roots anywhere and isn't planning on staying in Riverbend Gap. Charlotte has never known who her biological Dad is and her mother left an envelope with some pictures in it so she is trying to figure out who it is. Turns out she also has 2 brothers. Charlotte and Gunner have chemistry from the beginning but don't act on it for awhile since Gunner isn't planning on staying. Gunner helps Charlotte find her father and help her get her ranch back in the black. There is some elements of faith in it too.
This is the first book by Denise Hunter I have read. I don’t know why I waited so long. Wildflower Falls is a fast paced book about step sisters Charlotte and Emmie who inherit a horse farm after their mother passes.
The characters were well fleshed out and likeable. I enjoyed being transported to a horse farm.
Wildflower Falls drew me in and now I want to go through Denise Hunters backlist. I have a new staple author.
Wildflower Falls is book four in the Riverbend Series by Denise Hunter. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series, you will fall in love with each person in this little town.
Charlotte Honeycutt and her half-sister, Emmerson inherited the Stillwater Ranch in Riverbend Gap when their mother passed away. She left them the ranch and an envelope full of secrets. Charlotte grew up on and loved the ranch and worked hard to do everything she could to keep it in the family. Emmerson wanted out, she wanted to sell the ranch and become a baker, which caused much tension between the sisters.
While going through their mom’s personal belongings, Charlotte found pictures of her half-brothers that she did not know she had, which led her on a search to find her biological father. Her brothers were very well known and successful men that lived in Riverbend and had been raised by their mom and stepfather. Charlotte wanted to find her father before letting her brothers know that she was their sister.
Gunner Dawson, a horse trainer, was hired temporarily at the Stillwater Ranch to help Charlotte get a training program with the horses started. He vowed to not get involved with Charlotte, his boss, but it was hard while spending so much time with her at work and helping her with her search for her father. He had to keep reminding himself that he was only working on the ranch for a short time and would be leaving to pursue his dream job in another town.
Will Gunner and Charlotte fall in love? Will she find her father and tell her half-brothers who she is? How will her sister feel about Charlotte looking for her father and finding out that Charlotte has brothers, will she feel left out? Read Wildflower Falls and you will not be disappointed.
Denise Hunter is one of the best story tellers. I get so wrapped up in her stories that I want to meet the characters and I don’t want to put the book down until it is finished. Her books are always clean and inspirational. She also includes discussion questions for book clubs.
I thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for allowing me to read and review this book.
Wildflower Falls is the fourth book in the Riverbend Romance Series. It is about Charlotte, a horse ranch owner, whose mother recently died and left the ranch to her and her sister. She is in need of help and is thankful when a top-notch horse trainer, Gunner accepts a job there. In addition to the stress of running the ranch Charlotte has also recently found out that the Robinson brothers are her biological siblings and is trying to figure out how to tell them in addition to trying to discover who their father is. Gunner, of course, aids her on this quest. Sparks quickly fly but will Gunner, who is constantly on the move to new places, stick around to start a life with Charlotte? It is a romance of course so I'm sure you can figure that out but the journey to get to the happily ever after is definitely worth the read.
I found both main characters to be lovely and great to read about and loved how their romance developed overt he course of the book. I also loved getting to join up with the Robinson clan again and spend some time with those characters. This is a lovely. light read.
Back to a small town and a surprise finding.
I enjoyed this story a lot.
The reality is how to handle certain situations where there feels like it is a no win situation. The damage and demons from our childhood that take years to heal from and still may trigger us our entire lives.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. My opinions are my own.
Another win for Denise Hunter and Riverbend Gap! Gunner and Charlotte, two hurting souls, connect over their love of horses and their need for closure in their lives. Will that be enough for a lifetime together? You'll have to see if/how they can overcome their grief and move on together. Recommended.
"Wildflower Falls" is the fourth book in Denise Hunter's "Riverbend" series, set in a small North Carolina town. This particular book is centered around Charlotte, who is struggling while trying to run her beloved, deceased mother's Stillwater Ranch, with no help from her sister. When a young horse trainer, Gunner, applies for a job at the ranch, Charlotte finally gets some help with not only the business, but also the mystery she's trying to solve. When her mother passed, she left Charlotte a note and a picture of the father she's never met. Now Charlotte must decide if she's brave enough to act on this information. And she also has to decide if she's brave enough to act on the feelings she's developed for Gunner.
I really enjoyed the sweet romance in this book between Charlotte and Gunner! I also enjoyed reading about characters from previous books in this series. Hunter does a great job of blending drama, romance, and mystery. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
This was my first book by Denise Hunter but I have liked a lot of books from this publisher. Apparently it is the 4th book in the series but I didn't know that initially and I can say that this book can certainly stand alone.
The characters were very likable and easy to relate to. It does center around a ranch so people who like reading stories about horses and country life will really like this book. I am a huge animal lover so that is why I was intrigued by this story and I am so glad I stumbled upon a new author to enjoy. Now that I know there are more books, I can go back and read the others in the series.
I will also say that if you are adopted or from a foster care background, this story will really appeal to you. I'm not but I feel like I know what it must feel like after reading this book. This topic is not addressed in a lot of books that I have read but I feel like it is really important to give people who come from that past characters that they can really connect to and identify with.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Wildflower Falls is the 4th book in the Riverbend series by Denise Hunter. This book introduces ranch owner, Charlotte and her horse trainer, Gunner. Like all of Hunter's Riverbend books, the story is set in beautiful North Carolina. Charlotte has recently lost her mother and is on a quest to find her biological father. Gunner is running from tragedy in his past and ends up at Charlotte's ranch. The story is, of course, predictable but in a sweet way. The Robinson clan from Riverbend is also a main part of the book tying the series together. This book is listed as a stand-alone, but I highly recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of the whole plot. While I love Hunter's writing, this one could use a little more character development. Charlotte's search for her dad felt very rushed. In fact, the book overall had more of a hurried feel to it than I remember in her previous books. But overall it is a good read.
Denise Hunter does it again! She is unstoppable and writing some of the best, most heartfelt romance on the market these days. Her romances are sweet, tangible, unputdownable, and full of substance. She is original, meaning each of her stories is different (no formulaic patterns here), yet all are good. This book will satisfy any romance reader, and I feel that this one is my new favorite! Ten Stars!
