I received a free copy of, Wildflower Falls, by Denise Hunter, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is book four of A Riverbend Romance series. After her mother death, Charlotte is looking for her biological father. Charlotte hires Gunner to help her with her horses. This is such an engaging read, though I do not like secrets and lies, Charlotte's mother new told her who her father was, which is ridiculous.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Charlotte Honeycutt is determined to build a life on the ranch she inherited from her mother. Among her mother's things, she is surprised to discover the identity of her biological father and that she has two half brothers that have grown up in Riverbend Gap, just as she did. Charlotte wants to know her brothers and their father, but worries about how her news might be received. Needing a new stable for her horse farm, she hires the only construction company in town -- a company that happens to belong to one of her brothers.
Horse trainer Gunner Dawson never stays anywhere long. He plans to help Stillwater Ranch get its horse training program off the ground, then move on to work with thoroughbreds in Kentucky. However, the woman he finds running the ranch is not the one he previously met, but her daughter. Not only does he end up helping Charlotte with the horses, he also becomes involved in helping her search for her biological father. Gunner soon finds that he's building attachments in Riverbend Gap that he's never allowed before.
This was the fourth book in Hunter’s ‘A Riverbend Romance’ series. It can be read as a stand alone novel; however, it was clear prior stories had involved supporting characters. This was an easy, enjoyable read set amidst a horse ranch in North Carolina. It was a story of family relationships with a sweet romance included between Charlotte and Gunner. It illustrated the difficulty of conflicting priorities and why honesty is always the best policy. Fear can often keep us from doing what we know is right, but we must be steadfast in our commitment to truth.
We received an advance copy from the publisher. This is our honest review.
While I love Denise Hunter, this one did drag a bit in the middle for me. You could see the writing on the wall, but it was a fun and enjoyable novel.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.
Wildflower Falls is the fourth book in the Riverbend Romance series. I wish I had read the first three books. I feel like I missed connecting with the characters in this book, and missed out on the history that ties the books together. That said, it was a very enjoyable read and I will be going to the library to get the previous books!
In Wildflower Falls, Charlotte Simpson is determined to keep her third generation horse ranch in business. After her mother's death, she finds a newspaper clipping and medal of honor pointing to her biological dad. In the process, she discovers that she has two biological brothers! Desperate to get to know them, she accidentally and sometimes purposefully integrates into their many activities. Charlotte also hires a highly recommended horse trainer named Gunner Dawson. They are instantly attracted to each other, but Gunner is only passing through. He likes to live free and independent with everything he owns packed on his motorcycle. When Gunner learns of Charlotte's situation, he sets out to help her find her father. Charlotte wants to be accepted into the new family so badly, she misjudges the situation and ends up hurting the very people she never wanted to harm. Can they forgive her? Will they accept her into their tight knit group? Will Gunner give up his lifestyle for Charlotte? To find out the answers to these questions, definitely read Wildflower Falls!
When I started reading and realized Denise was bringing horses back, I literally released a WHOOP! Those who’ve read her Big Sky series will understand my joy in how well she writes these beautiful animals. And if you haven’t read that series yet, what are you waiting for? But back to Wildflower Falls. This book was filled with wonderful characters, complex relationships, romance, and faith. What more could you want?
An amazingly heartwarming read. The Riverbend series can be read as a stand-alone book or in order. I will most definitely be going back and reading the rest of the series. Charlotte is still grieving the loss of her mother when she discovers some missing pieces from her past. The unconditional support she needs in this trying time comes from the most unexpected place, her temporary farm hand Gunner. This ended up being an uplifting book that was meant for my soul.
After the death of her Mother Charlotte has inherited a horse ranch with her sister. Charlotte has always wondered who her biological Father is and after her Mothers death she finds papers that give her clues to his identity. She is afraid of how she will be received by siblings who live in the same town and doesn’t want to hurt anyone.
This story is about family, forgiveness and love. The book is,part of a series but could be read as a stand alone. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.
Never am I disappointed in this authors writing. I am always inspired by her characters. I always enjoy the story line and the growth that happens in most of her character.
Can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks for the advanced copy.
When Charlottes mother passes Charlotte knows what her future holds :saving the horse farm and making it what she and her mom had always dreamed . Her sister, Emmie has a different plan to work in a restaurant and follow her own dreams .
At this same time Charlotte is given a lead to her biological father and biological half brothers. She wants to find them and have that close ness that she never had .
Honestly I felt for Emmie during this time when Charlotte is finding her biological family as Emmie has been her sister (through marriage ) for a long time . Emmie feels excluded and unwanted . I hope we eventually get to read Emmies story and that she finds peace and happiness.
Into this stressful period comes Gunnar , a very successful horse trainer , who will help the farm become successful due to his skill with horses .
Gunnar has no interest in a long term relationship but love has a way of slowly changing his heart . Family , love , community , and faith are in every page of this book. Love comes . It was a delightful book that I could not put down. Beautifully written ! A must read .
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review .
Back in Riverbend Gap, where we meet Charlotte who is co-owner with her sister Emmie of their family's farm. Being the 3rd generation to inherit this farm, Charlotte is determined to bring it in the black and have it be self sustaining. Emmie's interest is very minimal. Charlotte hires on Gunner and the tale takes off from there. Both work hard to bring more awareness to the ranch. Thing is, Gunner is only available short term, and she's trying to find family she never really knew about. I love the work with the horses as depicted in this story. We see the rest of the Robinson clan, as well as meeting Brianna. Fun, surprise conclusion to this series and I'm so glad the author took us back there.
A complimentary copy was provided by Thomas Nelson via NetGalley. A review was not required and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This was quite a story. Two young women that had inherited a farm that one of them had no interest in. raising or training horses. Charlotte loves her horses and hired Gunner to help train. There were alot of sparks between these two, but he was very adverse to settling in one place. The most important story was after her mother died, she found an envolope that told of her real father. She was shocked and realized she knew his kids and would have more relatives other than her only half sister.
It was a good story that kept me intertained
I got this book from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review
I am a fan of Denise Hunter and this book is a perfect example of why. She writes with so much emotion that I am immediately drawn into the story. Her characters are fully formed people with good qualities as well as flaws. Her plots keep me interested and I want to immerse myself in the story and not return to the real world until after the last page.
This book is the fourth in the Riverbend series. I have read the other 3 books and recommend that you read this entire series because it is so enjoyable, but I do believe that you could read each book independently. Characters from previously books appear in this one, but background is given so a new reader is not confused.
This book is a Christian based romance, while it is not over the top, but a constant presence, where the characters talk to God and ask for guidance and strength. I believe this also comes through in the plot where the characters have disagreements, or differences in how they want to live, but these situations are handled in a mature loving way. I wish the real world was like that.
I am definitely a person that is drawn to a book by its cover. I adore the book covers for this series. They are so beautiful and give the mood of the story.
Wildflower Falls is an excellent continuation of the Riverbend series. This book focuses on Charlotte, who is trying to expand and save her family’s ranch and Gunner, who has been roaming from place to place for years, not settling in one area for very long. It is about home and family, whether it is your blood family or the one that you make for yourself.
I recommend this book and the entire series. Honestly, I have enjoyed all of Denise Hunter’s books that I have read. I am so happy that I found her at a book convention a few years go. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson – Fiction and NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own, and not influenced by receiving the advanced read copy.
I have long been a fan of Denise Hunter and I truly enjoyed this book as well. In fact, when I found out that this book was part of a larger series, I went back and found all of the earlier books and got caught up in the storyline so that I could fully enter into the world of these characters. As always, Denise Hunter delivers a story that is well worth reading and provides wholesome clean romance you can truly feel good about!
Oh, how I love returning to Riverbend Gap!! Denise Hunter knows how to create a small town with a cast that draws you in for more. Wildflower Falls is the fourth in this series and I adored it!
Charlotte is trying to ensure her family ranch stays afloat. She’s not looking for drama, in fact, she’s looking for her biological family. I won’t say much there because there’s a lot to be discovered and experienced in your own as Charlotte makes her discoveries. However, the Robertson clan shows up in full force. Then there’s Gunner. HooWee! There’s some chemistry between the lone ranger and the boss lady. Gunner works his magic on the ranch and the horses and Charlotte works her magic on Gunner. I love how they compliment each other and commit to serving the needs of the ranch and the community. I genuinely loved how Charlotte navigated a truly tough situation and Gunner stepped in to help. The Robertson clan will win you over as well!
Enjoy your trip to Riverbend Gap, even if it’s your first time reading a book in the series, you can jump right in.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

When I first started reading this book, I was truly a bit unsure if I would like it, but Denise Hunter once again impressed me with her storytelling skills. The one word that came to mind while reading this book was "redemption." It is a beautiful story of relationships being redeemed. Denise does a wonderful job of telling beautiful stories. The story of Charlotte and Gunner, as well as her relationship with the Robinson family, all show beautiful redemption even in the midst of mistakes.
The one thing that I think I have a bit of an issue with would be that this book is classified as Christian fiction, but I didn't see many relationships with the Lord.
Wildflower Falls is book four in the Riverbend series. I have not read the other books, and I feel this can be read perfectly as a standalone. Charlotte is from a blended family. She never knew who her biological father was, but she loved her stepfather and stepsister. After her mother's death, she discovers paperwork that hints at who her biological father is. She also has to work hard at revamping the ranch she has inherited to keep it afloat. Enter Gunner, a horse trainer and a man completely on his own.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are interesting and have plenty of room to grow. The search for Charlotte's bio dad is awkward and makes for hard feelings between siblings.
This is listed as Christian fiction, but other than a couple of scenes at church, this is more a clean romance. Family friendly and recommended to lovers of this genre.
Do you enjoy heartwarming, small-town romance stories?
Denise Hunter impresses once more in her romance novel, “Wildflower Falls.”
Hunter opens this stand-alone romance with Charlotte Simpson learning to run the horse farm, organizing the building of a boarding barn, and hiring a horse trainer after her other’s passing. As if this wasn’t enough to deal with, she discovered a secret that her mother had been hiding. Sharing the secret has two possible outcomes: 1) she could receive the emotional support that she’s been needing or 2) she could rip apart a family and cause trouble in Riverbend Gap. Hiring Gunner Dawson proves to be both a godsend and a source of frustration. Can he help Charlotte get the farm back in running order? Can he give her the emotional support she needs?
I loved the sibling tension, the slow-burning sweet romance, and solving the mystery. Hunter’s exploration of redemption, forgiveness, and family is wonderful.
My reaction to this book surprised me as I’m not a romance reader. I binge-read this one afternoon on the deck (binge reading - not something I expected to do with this genre) and wiped away a tear or two…This book came to me at just the right time, it deeply affected me and I’m prompted to search out this author’s backlist.
One of the best romance novels I’ve read.
If you love horses, sweet romance, small-town stories and sibling rivalry, this is one you’ll want to pop in your beach bag!
I was gifted this copy by Thomas Nelson and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
Set on a horse ranch, Wildflower Falls sounded right up my alley and it did not disappoint.
A beautiful Contemporary Romance about love, family, forgiveness and redemption.
I will definately be reading the other books in the Riverbend series.
I give it 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Charlotte Honeycutt has inherited her family’s ranch after her Mom’s unexpected death and she finds a box that contains information regarding her biological father and two brothers, and she is anxious to meet them, and hopefully a relationship.
Gunnar Dawson is a horse trainer who is averse to finding a permanent setting(home), but Charlotte surprises him, she’s not what he expected, and staying around Riverbend starts to tug at his heartstrings. It doesn’t really go into why he doesn’t want to settle until toward the end, and I was glad to understand why Gunnar was averse to staying in one place for any length of time.
I really liked both Charlotte and Gunnar, both together and separately, but I wished that it showed Charlotte getting to know her brothers a little more, and their families. It was nice to see her getting to know her Dad but her brothers largely didn’t know they had a sister until towards the end of the novel. There was a lot of heartache getting to the end but Gunnar and Charlotte were able to find their HEA!
My gratitude to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson. All opinions expressed are mine.
I level this sweet story about finding new family members and chasing your dreams while finding love!! Cant wait to read her sisters story (hoping one is coming)!
