This is my first Liz Alden book and it won't be my last! I really enjoyed this and it had all my favourite tropes; age gap, forced proximity... and it was based in France. What more could a girl ask for!?
It was fun, quirky, romantic and steamy - just the perfect amounts of each. I loved Tessa and following her journey. She had been through the mill before booking a Europe trip, starting in Paris.., and getting stranded! Enter Luc, a sexy French man who just makes you swoon, even as a reader!
I loved following their journey.
Thanks to Netgalley and Liz Alden for allowing me this arc.
What a fun and quick read!
I really enjoyed the romance, the friendship, the setting in Paris, … only downside: I wished it was longer!
Will definitely read more of Liz, her writing is a pleasure. I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book.
It's a light, airey read. One for taking on holidays when you don't want to have to think too hard. LIght, sweet and romantic. Silly but sweet, quite enjoyable.
This is a delightful and romantic novella that transports readers to the enchanting streets of Paris, where a chance encounter leads to unexpected passion and a whirlwind of emotions.
At forty-two, Tessa finds herself in the beautiful city of Paris, a place she adores but now experiences alone and disheartened. Her journey through life has been marked by dating experiences but no lasting love, leaving her feeling adrift even amidst the romantic backdrop of the City of Love. Her friends have abandoned her in this picturesque city, leaving her yearning for companionship. Enter Luc, a charming and much younger tour guide, who takes it upon himself to show her the vibrant and passionate side of Paris that few get to experience. He rekindles her love for the city and, in the process, reawakens her sense of sensuality and desire.
However, fate has a surprise in store when the protagonist runs into her ex, now engaged to someone else, and feeling smug about it. In a moment of spontaneity, Luc pretends to be her fiancé, leading to a twist of events that no one saw coming. As their charade continues, the line between fiction and reality blurs. Revenge plot and fake dating? Sign me up.
This is a story that sweeps readers off their feet with its enchanting Parisian backdrop and the intoxicating allure of a fake fiancé turned real. It's a tale of rediscovery, passion, and the unexpected turns that life can take when you least expect it. The novel captures the essence of romance in the most romantic of cities, leaving readers with a sense of longing and the belief that love can truly find you when you least anticipate it.
Light romantic story but not super captivating. It was fine. Adorable cover. Fun idea. Thank you for the opportunity to read.
It was good for what is was and then it was reaally fast paced. Would def read more from this author
This was my first experience reading something by this author, and it definitely won't be my last. Such an adorably fun and sweet story! Tessa travels to Paris for a pre-planned girls weekend trip, but when her friends' travel plans fall through, she finds herself alone in the city of love. Alone except for the hot tour guide that was supposed to show them all around. Luc convinces Tessa to explore the city with him, even though her friends aren't there. She agrees and has a blast, especially when she runs into her ex who is there with his new fiance. Luc then does something that both surprises and charms her and pretends that he is her fiance, and the look on her ex's face was so satisfying!
But as they spend more time together, Luc makes it clear his feelings are real and he wants more. Tessa feels it too, but with all the bad luck in love she's had, she isn't sure her heart can take any more chances.
This was a short flirty and fun novella, but also had a lot of depth. Luc and Tessa were great together and their chemistry was sizzling! I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more by this author.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This was a short and super cute romance.
Having lived in Paris and being French, I was quite glad on how the author wrote about Paris. It did not feel overly cliche.
Who doesn’t dream of going to Paris alone and booked a tour with a gorgeous, younger tour guide?
Rose with my Fake Fiance is a short, cute and steamy novella, that follows Luc and Tessa. She’s stranded in Paris alone, since her friends couldn’t come up that day, so she has to cancel the tour around the city. In comes Luc, the younger than her tour guide, that offers to still take her on a tour. They do and sparks fly.
It also has great friendships that we’re going to continue to see across the series, since (I think) each friend will have their own book.
This was mixed for me, I loved the friend group and the Paris part of tbhe book but wasn't so much into the actual love story.
This is just the sweetest, spicy novella!! We loved this book so much. Tessa’s friends are a day late to their Paris trip, leaving her alone with their planned tour guide, Luc. They have great chemistry and have an incredibly hot night together. Luc is determined to make Tessa see that what they have is special, even though she swears she isn’t interested in romance (especially with a man 11 years younger than her).
Tessa is a curvy, 42-year-old woman and we loved her! Luc is a sweet Parisian man who helps care for his grandmother. The way he wants her is so pure and loving. They seriously made us giggle and kick our feet. Their first night together is really soo good. Luc is such a sweetheart, but wow he’s hot.
Alden wrote this novella beautifully. There was heat, romance, friendship and family.Grab this when it releases on 4/25!
Romance can find itself with anyone who is being open to the idea. I enjoyed the fake dating aspect that was sparked by the ex and Luc was like lets put on a show out of spite. I have to get my hands on the book. Absolutely enjoyed this.
So fun and great to see characters like this! The pacing, dialogue, and tension gave us a fun and relatively short story- perfect for a weekend read!
New author for me and what an interesting read. 1st in a new series. Yes I will read the 2nd book to see if I like it also.
I found this book to be a great read when I first started it. I really liked the friends, and the grandma also. It was hard for me to believe that they was actually 40 some year olds though. Luc seemed like a nice guy, he seemed like he had it together more than the 40 year olds, and he was only in his 30's.
All in all, this was a ok book, it kept putting it down though. It didn't keep my interest. I don't think I will be picking up anymore books in the series.
This was a fun and interesting read!!! Age gap with a woman older than a man is a trope I haven't read before, but I loved this. I'm in for the entire series.
I found this perfect as a short, one-sitting novella (Exactly why I requested an eARC)
The pretty cover is eye-catching, but I don't think it conveys what you would be signing up for. While the book cover shows a young-looking couple, I didn't picture the MCs looking anything like this.
What I found unique- Many authors prefer the love at first sight trope, but this goes beyond looks and lust, landing on pure chemistry and connection. I was happy to see that the interactions of all characters befitted their age with mature, productive conversations.
Final thoughts? I'm getting my hands on the sequel of this book- Riesling with My Roommate- ASAP. And till then, you should go and read this beauty.
This is a fun read that I really enjoyed. It’s a longish novella that’s the beginning of a new series, Aged Like Fine Wine.
Tessa and her friends have left Austin TX and have moved to different cities in Europe to work. They meet in a different city every month, this month it’s Paris.
Tessa set up a tour for her friends who have never been there, but none of them can come until the next day. When Tessa meets the gorgeous, younger tour guide, named Luc, she decides that the tour might be fun.
They have a lovely day until Tessa sees her ex-fiancé. At the spur of the moment, she introduces Luc as her fiancé.
They have to navigate an engagement party and more.
I loved reading about the Paris tour and Tessa’s house in Spain. 4 stars.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. I loved this story, it was such a sweet funny read.
Really enjoyed this one. It was a quick easy read. I was drawn in by the cover. The writing was easy to follow.
4 stars!
I looooove that "Rosé with My Fake Fiancé" by Liz Alden features a mature woman protagonist! Heck yes! More of this, please! This steamy, sexy novella kept me interested and engaged from the first page. Liz Alden does a spectacular job of grabbing the readers' attention with this insta-love romance. You really get a sense of wonder and love because this story takes place in Paris (it paints quite a pretty picture in your mind!). I enjoyed all of the characters, from the supporting ones like Tessa and Luc (who have insane chemistry right off the bat) to the supporting ones (her friends, and Luc's grandmother), who I figure are also going to get novellas at some point (gosh, I hope so!). This is such a quick read that I was left wanting a little bit more, but that's always the rub with novellas! You can finish this short story in just a few short hours, and it's definitely worth it! Can't wait for more from Liz Alden!
Thank you to NetGalley, Liz Alden, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for providing me with an ARC copy of this book! All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for my review.
