Captivated by the Lyon. Such a wonderful story to read. This is my second time reading from this writer and let me tell I was captivated by Edmund and Addy. Their story was absolutely, undeniably romantic. Our nephew.
Our son. No truer words were beautify written. Edmund is my favorite character followed by Collin with all his bellowing through the house. I would actually love to live in a house with all the lively activities that this family had in their house. If you read the book, you must read to the ending.
Talk about something stilling your heart to the point that you may cry. The story is amazingly written. The action scenes are stellar. These scenes supplied answers to the continuing saga of the Lyons club. Can we talk about the romance of Addy and Edmund?
Sign me up to this love at first sight sweeping endeavor. The details. The dialogue. The mysterious dialogue plot.
All of this gave me a splendid book to read. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
A Matchmaking Endeavor with Suspense and Intrigue
Matchmaking is mrs. Dove-Lyon's business, but it is never conventional. Edmund is looking for the woman who claimed to have his brother's child. Adelaide is looking for a husband so that her nephew would have a father. Neither knew that the Black Widow of Whitehall intends to match them. Someone is causing mischief, and danger is creeping ever closer. This story has romance, suspense, and intrigue. There is some ambiguity towards the end, that someone who is literal like me, might need clarified, but I still enjoyed this historical romance and would still recommend it.
Another great addition to the Lyon's Den Connected World series! This story is about a sister sacrificing her own happiness in order to help her sibling. Adelaide's sister, an actress, ends up with child and Adelaide takes her nephew to raise as her own. She has no money and in order to survive, she goes to Mrs. Dove-Lyon for help in order to find a husband to support her. Edmund is the brother of the baby's father, who is now deceased, and he goes in search of the mother and child. He enlists the help of Mrs. Dove-Lyon to find them and also to find a wife for himself. Mrs. Dove-Lyon is known for her successful matches and she once again uses her matchmaking schemes to bring another pair together. It was fun watching her set their match and union in motion and seeing them come together and their relationship develop. They had an attraction and chemistry that was undeniable, and it was lovely to see them grow closer to each other and to little baby Adam.
The story was well-written and enjoyable with wonderful characters that were well-developed and interesting. I enjoyed the story and am glad to have had the chance to read it.

Another installment in the Lyon's Den series, where Mrs. Dove-Lyon, the mysterious and manipulative matchmaker and owner of the Lyon's Den manages another incongruous match up.
In this case, a year after the Viscount Moreland's death, the youngest brother of the family, Edmund, is looking to find his older brother's paramour. He thinks she was the woman who visited a year prior, to be turned away by their grieving father, and he and his remaining brother, the current viscount, wish to gain custody of what they believe to be their brother's child.
Adelaide Fernside was the mysterious woman, but she was not the prior viscount's lover; that was her actress sister, Lily. But she did visit on behalf of her pregnant sister, only to be berated and turned away. After birthing the young boy, Lily wanted to return to the stage and abandoned her son to Adelaide's care.
When she finds out that someone has been snooping about and asking questions about her, she seeks some protection from Dove-Lyon, only to find out that she is delivered into the hands of the Broadbanks. But Edmund has good intentions and wants to make a match with Adelaide and raise the child as his own, and hopefully the child can inherit his father's legacy. However, they end up facing an unexpected danger to their family.
This was a decent story that plays into the expected story lines of the Lyon's den world. But a large part of the premise was that the brother's wanted to find the lost son of their dead brother, thinking that he would inherit the title that the second brother now holds. However, the dead viscount had an affair with an actress, Lily - there was no indication that they married, so it would be assumed that the baby was born illegitimate, which would mean he would not be able to inherit anything, especially not a title. A big discrepancy in the story, IMO.

Cativated by the Lyon
Ms. DOVES match making again.
I am in love with this series and the different writers.
Edmund and Addy are both strong characters who play well off of one another. Adam is a nice addition to the piece as he helps meld Edmund and Addy together as a family with him as their well beloved son.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. This story was an easy read and the characters were good together.
I'm really not sure where this one went wrong, but for some reason, I never found myself caring about it. Although Adam was a cute addition, the main romance was incredibly rushed. I didn't quite understand how Edmund and Addy went from strangers to in love so fast. This just wasn't for me
Another wonderful story about the lives intertwined and impacted by The Lyon's Den and Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon and her matchmaking skills.
This story reaches out an highlights "what is family". Adelaide helps raise her younger sister Lily, then agrees to be her nephew, Adam's mother. Edmund and his brother also look for the woman who was in love with his older brother, Adam, and their child. Each of the two main characgers sacrifice, protect, love, encourage, etc. for members of their family.
A delightful story!
Another fantastic matchmaking romance by Mrs. Dove-Lyon of the most notorious gambling den in London, The Lyon's Den.
She's making another match through her match making service in Captivated by the Lyon. As a web is woven with hasty conclusions and confusion of who is who when Edmond starts searching for his brothers son. When Edmond finally finds the mysterious Lily, is she who she says she is? C. H. Admirand has filled her story with unexpected twists that holds your full attention to the very end, characters that come off the pages and pull you into their tale, a story that is well-written, and a enjoyable plot.
Another great "Lyon" book. While all the stories revolve around Mrs. Dove-Lyon's matchmaking business, they each have their own unique back story. Every book is an enjoyable revelation!
Thank you C.H. Admirand, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.
Adelaide Fernside finds herself trying to care for her baby nephew and a crumbling household. The only thing she can think to save them all is finding a husband.
Edmund Broadband and his brother have discovered that their elder brother might have left an heir before he died. They have to find the child to make sure.
In this historical romance our Black Widow from the Lyon's Den ìs at her sneaky best, arranging wagers to create the partnership she believes will work. There are a lot of giggles and a little danger for our characters. A lighthearted, slightly steamy story with fabulous characters.
Lots of fun.
Adelaide takes over the care of her nephew and needs to marry rather quickly before she runs out of funds so she goes to Mre. Dove-Lyon for help. Edmond wants to find the mother of his brothers child so that child can live with him and be part of their family. After some confusion about who the mother actually is Adelaide and Edmond try to do what's best for their nephew.
This was my first foray into the world of The Lyon's Den, and it definitely won't be the last. The premise of the mysterious matchmaking widow and her methods of matching couples was intriguing.
The story opens when Adelaide arrives at the home of Earl Templeton looking for his son Viscount Moreland, the father of her sister Lily's child. Unfortunately, the viscount is dead, and his father is crazed with grief. The encounter does not go well, and Adelaide returns home determined to support her sister.
A year later, Edmund and his brother Colin continue their search for the woman who may have borne their brother's heir. With the help of private investigators and Bow Street Runners, they believe they are getting closer. Edmund rushes to make contact when they receive word that their quarry was seen entering the notorious Lyon's Den. He plans to use his quest for a wife to gain entry, then attempt to meet with the woman.
Addy raised her sister Lily after the death of their parents but lost her to the lure of the stage. After young Adam's birth, Lily returned to London, leaving Adam in Addy's care. Between their lack of funds and the men asking questions about Adam, Addy realizes she needs a husband to support and protect them. She goes to Mrs. Dove-Lyon for help in finding that husband.
Mrs. Dove-Lyon is quite the manipulator and schemer and has an uncanny knack for successful matches. I enjoyed watching her put Addy and Edmund through their paces in setting up their match. I was impressed by Edmund's determination to win his contests, arrange his meeting with Addy, and gain a wife. Despite the warnings he received beforehand, the early part of his meeting could have gone better, thanks to his lack of trust. I loved that Addy didn't sit back and take it and stood up to his antagonism with her own temper. Luckily, much of what she said struck him as the truth, and he finally believed her. Neither expected the shock of finding out that Mrs. Dove-Lyon intended to match them to each other.
I enjoyed watching the relationship develop between Edmund and Addy. Their attraction was undeniable, and Edmund was even more entranced with Addy when he saw her with little Adam. Addy is equally taken with Edmund when she sees how good he is with Adam. I loved that both agreed that honesty was vital to a successful marriage and that they promised no secrets between them. It was sweet to see Edmund's care and protectiveness for Addy as their lives become complicated by forces outside their control.
Edmund's brother Colin, the current Viscount Moreland, finds himself the target of a blackmailer. Edmund insists on dealing with the threat, resulting in an intense and sometimes amusing encounter on the Dark Walk in Vauxhall. Interrogation reveals a threat to Addy and Adam that Edmund takes very seriously. That threat follows them to Addy's home and sets up a nail-biting confrontation with tragic results.
I loved the ending and seeing Edmund and Addy settle into life with little Adam. There's a nice bit with Earl Templeton and his introduction to Addy and Adam. It starts a bit rough, but Addy now has experience dealing with Broadbank men and handles them quite well. There's a pleasant little surprise for Edmund at the end also.
I loved the secondary characters in this book. Mrs. Dove-Lyon also brought together Edmund's brother Colin and his wife, Gemma. I must go back and read their story, as it sounds like it was a wild one. Colin, a former naval officer, is very amusing with his inability to remember that he's no longer on a ship's deck when he talks. His habit of bellowing gets him in trouble with almost everyone. I loved his wife, Gemma, who is very sweet and has a strong spirit. I loved how she and Addy immediately became friends. I also enjoyed seeing Captain Coventry and Mr. King, who I recognize from the author's Lords of Vice and Duke's Guards series.
Captivated by the Lyon by CH Admirand is a short Lyon’s Den book which features not only the happy couple, but people from other books, as well. Adelaide Fernside was using the last of her money to pay Mrs. Dove-Lyon. She needed a husband, mostly for protection. A marriage in name only would be fine. Edmund Broadbank was the brother of her nephew’s dead father. Her sister Lily, the actress, had had a liason with Adam. When Addy went to the family home to let him know about his child, the door was rudely shut in her face. Now people had come around asking questions and someone had tried to break in.. Thankfully that got nowhere. Edmund didn’t really want a wife but he and his brother, Colin wanted to know about their niece or nephew. Their father had been rude but it wasn’t them. They had hired people to find Lily and her child. Mrs. Dove-Lyon could get him an interview with the woman so he agreed to compete for a lady’s hand with the proviso he spoke with Lily first.
Addy was fierce in her protection of little Adam. She loved him more than she could have guessed. The fact that it appeared someone wanted to harm him broke her heart. When she met Edmund she was happy to answer his questions, until she discovered he was the man Mrs. Dove-Lyon had chosen for her. That led to questions and reprisals. It was a good story. Not strong on plot but enjoyable none-the-less.

Another great story in the Lyon’s Den series. I enjoy the matchmaking skills of Mrs. Dove-Lyon and how she brought Addy and Edmund together. Each story is unique within this series and this one is no exception. It is full of emotion, unexpected love and danger. Add to this Adam, a little boy who worms his way into your heart and those around him. It’s an enjoyable story that is definitely worth reading. I keep hoping Dove-Lyon will meet her love match as I think this would make for great reading.

CH always has a more motherly twist on Mrs.Dove-Lyon that I really enjoy. I enjoyed the twists and turns that this tale took. Definitely an original book. What a wonderfully exciting romance. This review is short because I enjoyed the book so much it left me speechless. :) I could gush and overwhelm you with specifics but I'd rather just say go read the book its worth it!
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.
When her sister decides to go back to the theater, Adelaide Fernside finds herself caring for her nephew. In order to what is best for the child, she decides she needs a husband. Edmund Broadbank and his brother discover that their brother Adam may have left a son, an heir, when he died. They want very much to find their nephew. Both Adelaide and Edmund call on Bessie Dove-Lyon at the Lyon’s Den for help in finding spouses, and in Edmund’s case a chance to find and speak to Adelaide. After a series of not-too-easy wagers compliments of Mrs. Dove Lyon, Edmund gets his wishes, all in one lovely package, Adelaide. This is an enjoyable story with great characters. Edmund and Addy fit together perfectly. Little Adam is delightful. There is some mystery, a little danger, and a bit of steam. A good read and nice addition to the Lyon’s Den World.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Adelaide Fernside is the responsible sister. When her sister, the actress, ends up with child by her now dead lover, Adam Broadbank, Adelaide takes little Adam to raise as her own. Desperate for money to survive, she seeks out Mrs.Dove-Lyon to arrange for a husband. Edmund Broadbank and his younger brother are looking for the babe sired by Adam and his lover. Edmund goes to Mrs. Dove-Lyon for help to find her and to seek a wife. Mrs. Dove-Lyon is very good at manipulation. Adelaide and Edmund are fated to be together. Greed is the instigation for blackmail. Interesting note. Thoughts from Mrs. Dove-Lyon are more prevalent in this book. Love always grows quickly with her choice of couples. Very little implied sex and the most adorable little boy.
This is one of my favorite series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Not a bad story but one thing really irritated me: Addy's sister had given birth to baby Adam, the son of a viscount, Adam she'd been having an affair with. The viscount's brothers, Colin & Edmund were looking for the boy as he would be Adam's and hence the Earls heir.....NO....illegitimate boyes don't inherit Earldom's. A quick google would have found this: ............ " Not in England, possibly in Scotland. A bastard (born outside wedlock) cannot inherit his father's title or any property entailed to it. He could be raised to the peerage, i.e. given his own title, by the monarch, but he can't inherit one because that would break the system of primogeniture." ............So unless I missed the bit where the Earl is scottish it wouldn't happen not matter that Colin doesn't want it. Here's another one: .........."So for the next millennium the answer in every mainstream country in Europe is, no: illegitimate children didn’t have the right to inherit noble titles. Indeed, in many countries - including England and Scotland - illegitimate children were not considered legally to be related to their father at all: they weren’t entitled to inherit anything from him, even his surname. (Till about 40 years ago - I forget the precise date when this changed - if a man wrote in his will that he wanted to divide his property between “my children” that was assumed to mean his legitimate children; if he had an illegitimate child and wished her/him to have a share, he had to specify her/him by name.)".......I wouldn't have been so annoyed but it's repeated numerous times. As for the main romance: Edmund like his brother is very Alpha. Addy a bit quiet and reflective. Spoiler: Not sure why Lily had to be bumped off at the end, unless it was to ensure no more blackmail and she wouldn't demand the child back later. Adam, the baby seemed to grow up very quickly. At the beginning he was in nappies and by the end was talking in phrases!
