"Plant Love Kitchen" is a great resource for anyone interested in incorporating more plant-based meals into their diet, or for those who are already committed to a plant-based lifestyle.

*This review is based on the 10 page sample of the book that I received from Netgalley. As I was unable to view the entire book, I have concerns about leaving an accurate review. Please take that into consideration as you read my feedback.

I work as an Executive Chef and have for twenty years, so when I see an opportunity to review a cookbook, I get pretty excited. While I don’t specialize in solely vegetarian/vegan cooking, I do have quite a bit of experience with it and I’m excited about this focus on good, healthy plant based foods. I think a lot of home cooks struggle with knowing how to creatively use plants to build a fulfilling, beautiful, and flavorful meal, so I applaud this book for its direction.

That said, I’m a bit torn about the recipes in the sample portion of the book. Two pesto variations, a salad, a frittata. None of this is particularly new or cutting edge and I think that most home cooks with a plant based focus will likely have already cooked similar items. Perhaps I’m a bit jaded or I’m over-estimating the home cook’s knowledge, but based on the beautifully done intro of the book I was hoping for something a bit more in the recipe section. It’s possible that the publishing agency or author withheld the more creative recipes to entice the sample reader to purchase the book, but for me it did the opposite. It made me feel that this is a rehashing of well-trodden recipes. Again, it’s hard to say without having seen the entirety of the book.

All in all, my perception of this book based on the sample is that this book is a guide for very beginner vegetarians. It’s got simple, tried and true recipes to help you dip your toes in the water of vegetarian cooking. You won’t break the mold, but you will be able to feed your family healthy, easy dishes on a weeknight.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this review copy. Reception of it in no way affects the objectivity of my review.

I received a sample of this book to review and the colors are gorgeous. If you are looking for fabulous recipes and recommendations for plant based foods, this author has created a visual treasure. This type of food is not usually my fare but the recipes sound delicious and the author makes them very appealing.

I reviewed a sample of The Plant Love Kitchen by Marisa Moore, which included beautiful photos and four appealing recipes. The title of the book may be misleading, because this is not a plant-based cookbook but plant-forward. I am very familiar with a plant-forward lifestyle because it is one that I adopted a couple years ago. I still eat eggs, dairy and meat on occasion, but vegetables, fruit, whole grains, legumes and nuts make up the bulk of my diet. However, my vegan husband would have been disappointed in this cookbook if he expected only plant-based recipes. The sample did not provide enough details to know if the recipes could be adapted to those who follow a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. But, I am intrigued with her plant-forward approach and it's likely that I will purchase the book after it's release.

I wish this had been the whole book. It's a good sip or bite but not enough to allow me to judge it. Thanks to Netgalley for the sample.

Thank you to NetGalley and National Geographic for the opportunity to read an advanced sample of this cookbook for an honest review.

“The Plant Love Kitchen” instantly caught my attention because I have been preparing more plant-based meals for my family this year. Nutritionist and food blogger Marisa Moore shares over 75 recipes with easy-to-follow instructions, ingredients that aren’t difficult to find, and mouth-watering photos.

The sample of the cookbook I received only contained five recipes, but all five of them were beautifully presented and were all recipes I would want to try! The Strawberry, Arugula, and Pistachio Salad looked and sounded absolutely perfect for a spring lunch gathering I have coming up! I also loved that Moore offered a vegan variation on the salad, because that’s always a concern when I’m making food for a group with new friends.

I can’t wait to see the rest of this cookbook and try out the recipes! I definitely recommend this cookbook to anyone wanting to learn more about the benefits of a plant-forward diet and try some yummy plant-based recipes.

The sample featured four recipes - I tried the strawberry arugula and pistachio salad and the blueberry buttermilk oat muffins - both recipes were delicious. Looking forward to checking out the other recipes in the book.

A lovely glimpse into ease one into more plant based eating with easy recipes with pretty photos along with it. Definitely more basic than I anticipated, but great for anyone wanting to make changes in their existing eating plan or anyone who is just starting to explore the kitchen. These comments are based on a sample of this book.

I thought this was the whole book so I don't have much to go on since it was just a very small excerpt but it looks like it would be a good cookbook for plant based dishes. .

From the very small sample given, it's disappointing.
The recipes appear to be very simple, uninteresting and basic.
Not even up to the level you can find for free on Pinterest.
If there's more to this book, the sample doesn't represent it well.
I was very hopeful from eh cover.

I was only able to review a few pages of this and while it may have some decent recipes for vegans, it seemed a little unexciting to me and didn’t seem to host anything to help it stand out from any other vegan cookbook in my opinion.

The book might be fine but it was impossible to read with the sample provided on NetGalley. I can’t provide a true recommendation with the small, illegible sample given.

I was very curious about this book when I read the title and description. I am always looking for more plant-based inspiration. Unfortunately this one seems to have a lot of non plant-based ingredients. I think this will be great for those that are curious or want to ease into plant-based eating. For those that are already exclusively plant-based you might want to look elsewhere. I wish that she maybe listed plant-based alternatives when she calls for things like eggs and cheese. Great intro for those beginning their plant-based journey though.

I love the look and feel of this - the photos are lovely and the recipes look simple to follow! However, we only got a paragraph of the author's intro, so I don't know if I will like the message. This really wasn't enough for me to give a rating.

I really enjoyed reading this sample. I really liked Marisa Moore's attitude towards plant based eating. Instead of shaming people who chose to eat meat she encourages you to just take plant based eating "one bite at a time" and to find plant based food that you enjoy eating. My older children have been trying to get me to step outside of my comfort zone and to add more vegetables to my diet and I look forward to using this cookbook to help me.achieve this.

I received a sample of this book which provided a handful of recipes to get a glimpse of what the full book would look like. Overall the pages and recipes look beautiful! The recipes that I viewed appear easy to make but with complex flavor profiles. I am excited to purchase the full book as this seems like a great addition to my cook book collection!

This review is based on a sample of this title. I look forward to seeing the whole book.

There are so many cookbooks out there. A couple of things make this one stand out for me. One, it is written by a registered dietician. Two, it is plant forward and looks toward both the health and enjoyment of those who use the recipes. Of those, there will be 75 in all. The book also provides a good deal of guidance separate from the recipes themselves.

Looking to be healthier? Want your food to taste good? Then give this title a look.

Many thanks to NetGalley and National Geographic for this title. All opinions are my own.
