An enjoyable read but i was hoping for more excitement/suspense/twists. It was fun to dive into the world of a social media influencer and the story was good, I just was expecting more. When it got to the twists I was like “meh, that wasn’t very shocking.” I will still recommend this book to other thriller/suspense readers because I can see this being a big hit with a lot of readers.

This one was so fun! It was thrilling and surprising and unputdownable while serving as a subtle reminder to be careful what you post online!

This was a “woah” book for me and I haven’t had many of those lately. You’re gonna wanna read this one asap.
First you’ve got an angry baby daddy coming looking for his daughter and the grandma goes ahead and gives him the address of where to find her, even though the mom doesn’t want to be found. She doesn’t even warn the daughter that he’s coming. Then, tragedy strikes and the story takes a dark turn.
The it picks up nine years later and the sister of the babie’s mom, Liv, thinks she sees the man who kidnapped her niece and murdered her sister on social media. If it really is him, he has changed his name and moved across the county and is married to a major “influencer “ But instead of going to the police with what she thinks she sees, she decides to go and befriend Molly, said influencer, and find out if it really is him. They quickly bond over the fact that they are both Swifties and Molly never questioned her new friend’s intentions despite her coming in out of nowhere.
This was part domestic thriller and part psychological suspense and it was a lot of fun to read. There’s a lot of chilling moments about the dangers and the abuse of social media which make you want to rethink your usage but if you enjoy a mystery with a side of romance, this is a book for you.
Thanks to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I just finished reading this, and I involuntarily said out loud to no one, “Woah. That was good.” It’s going to be hard to review and describe, but I’m going to try my best here … I’m worried it’s going to sound more convoluted than it actually is, but it was pretty easy to keep track of these good characters.

Olivia has moved to Durango, Colorado (a city near and dear to me - I love that the book was set there!) to find her niece. Baby Gabriela was kidnapped ten years prior after Kristina (Gabriel’s mother and Olivia’s troubled sister) was murdered by her boyfriend, Sam. After Kristina was killed, Sam took Gabriela and they were never seen again … until Olivia gets a crucial tip about where they might be by following…

Molly (aka @invinciblemollysullivan) runs a mommy/lifestyle Instagram account. As outgoing as she seems online, Molly actually has no friends, so she considers her followers friends and part of her community. She’s quite successful at showing life with her daughter, Chloe, until she gets married to a man named Scott. He has a daughter, and has no interest in being in the public eye. Her followers, called “The Invincibles”, start getting restless on being left out of that part of Molly’s life.

How these two women connect is a quite entertaining thing to see play out. I loved all the added social media posts and comments, especially as some comments are by a mystery person whose thoughts are also interspersed throughout the book. Who is this creepy person? You won’t find out until the end, and let me tell you, the ending is a doozy!

I liked how this took a few tired tropes and tied them together to make something better than average. The ending came out of left field - there were parts of it that I liked, and parts I didn’t. This was just a tiny bit slow in a couple parts, but otherwise it was a page-turner. 4.5 stars!

A scary look into what you put out on the internet and how anyone can have access to you on social media if you aren't careful.

Liv sees a photo of her sister's supposed killer/niece's kidnapper on Molly's social media and decides to take a temp job to get closer to him and see if he has her niece. She befriends Molly which is pretty easy to do as Molly shares "real life" all the time.

I loved the mystery and figuring out what Liv is going to do with the info she gathers. I really liked the mystery POV we got and I tried to figure out who it might be and was really shocked at who it turned out to be. The past story coming out is both tragic (obviously) and also a bit a feel good.

Excellent sophomore novel from Bradeigh.

Teaser:

The Girl on the Train meets the world of social media in this psychological thriller about influencer culture, parasocial relationships, and the secrets we keep from those we love most.

Molly Sullivan is used to sharing intimate details of her life with millions of followers. A thirty-one-year-old single mom, she has built a career out of fearless posts about parenthood and dating. But when Molly shares a photo of her new fiancé, Scott, she is shocked by his negative reaction. For the sake of their relationship, Molly agrees to remove the post and keep Scott and his ten-year-old daughter out of her social media spotlight.

But it’s too late, someone has already recognized him. Liv Barrett is certain Scott’s the man who killed her sister and disappeared with her infant niece nine years ago. The police don’t believe her, so Liv takes matters into her own hands. After driving cross-country to Molly’s town, Liv uses her social media posts to orchestrate “accidental” meetings, slowly gaining Molly’s trust. Meanwhile, newlywed Molly begins to unpack boxes in her new home and discovers her husband has been lying about his past.

While Molly and Liv uncover secrets that have been buried deep for almost a decade, they have no idea that someone else saw the photo of Scott—someone who poses a threat more dangerous than either of them can imagine. Someone who is watching them from the shadows.

Excellent psychological thriller about a young influencer. Molly is thrilled to finally find love after being a single mom for several years. The only problem is her fiancé does not want her to share any pictures of him or his daughter on her social media account, which she finds out after getting a really strong reaction from him after sharing a picture of him. As Molly starts to find out more information about her fiancé she finds there may be a sinister reason for not wanting his photo shared. Fast paced, impossible to put down.

A very well-written book. The storyline is unique and catches the reader's attention and keeps them engaged. Also, it highlights some of the perils of social media. I highly recommend

This was a highly engaging read that I simply could not put down. Full of lies, secrets and hidden intentions, this book captured my full attention and constantly had me on edge waiting to see what happened next.

This book takes place in modern times in the Instagram age. Molly is a mega influencer with a huge following. One day, she posts a picture of her fiancé, who Liv immediately recognizes as the man as Sam, who was her sister’s boyfriend and possible murderer who disappeared with their child, Gabriela, nine years ago. So, when Liv sees this, she makes a plan, find out where Molly is, get close to her and find out if this really Sam and if he still has Gabriela. But before long, Liv finds herself actually liking Molly and feels bad about her ulterior motives, but if she can just be part of Gabriela’s life, she figures it’s worth the sacrifice. But what will happen when Molly finds out who she really is? And will both of the women realize they’re being watched as well? Only time will tell.

Overall, I thought this was an amazing read. While I guessed some of the twists, they were everything I hoped for and more. I enjoyed trying to figure it all out as I was reading and there were a couple of things that did take me by surprise. I loved the characters, especially Liv and thought she had a great storyline. I also loved the ending, it tied everything up well and gave me hope for the characters’ futures despite the crazy mess and tangled web of lies they left behind.

4.5 stars

As a social media influencer Molly is no stranger to being in the spotlight, so when she gets engaged she doesn’t think twice to share the happy news with her followers. However her fiancé Scott is less than pleased, demanding she take the photo down. But it’s too late, Liv has seen it and instantly recognizes him as the man she believes killed her sister and kidnapped her niece. Now she’s on a mission to find and befriend Molly, in hopes of finally finding answers and her niece. Problem is, it seems Liv isn’t the only one who recognized Scott from that post….

Okay I just have to get this out of the way first, that cover is absolutely amazing. It is definitely one of my favorite covers I’ve seen this year!

The story is told in different POV but it’s not clearly stated who’s POV it is which I loved, it added another layer to the mystery. The use of different formats throughout the story was a great touch too. Especially with social media and influencers being such main focus on the story (which is a cool trend/trope I’ve been noticing lately). And while I like to pride myself on guessing twists, Bradeigh got me with a few in this one that I just did not see coming!

I loved her debut, Imposter, and she strikes again with another winner this year. Pretty safe to say she’s secured a spot on my autobuy authors list. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The story started off with a murder, and I was instantly hooked. The story flowed smoothly, alternating between the perspective of the two women whose life is intertwined in ways one of the them does not know.

Solid story.

Happy Pub Day!

After I read The Imposter, I knew I had to read more of her books and this one was just as thrilling. I also love her books with fellow friend as Ali Brady. Molly Sullivan is a thirty-one-year-old social media influencer with a child. She shares a lot of her day-to-day life. Sometimes that can bring stalkers, or backlash, and Molly will discover both.

Her fiancé Scott is more private with his life. One day Molly posts his picture and his reaction was not good. They agree to keep his life private. But….someone saw the post of Scott before the photo was taken down. Someone from Scott's past recognizes the photo and sets out to find him. Liv believes Scott killed her sister.

Liv ends up making friends with Molly in the hopes of gaining trust and access to Scott. The suspense in this novel keeps you reading until you find out what happened. Who is in real danger?

The Followers by Bradleigh Godfrey
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / Pages: 293 / Genre: Psychological Thriller

With a feed full of inspirational sayings, video tutorials on decorating, fun activities with her daughter, and so on, Molly Sullivan has made a living out of sharing her life online as a social media influencer. But when she married a very private man and the love of her life, she was forced to keep him and his daughter out of her feed. She had no idea that posting one little picture of the two of them to announce their engagement would draw out all the people from his past that he’s worked so hard to hide from. Now that they have a lead on where he is, it’s just a matter of time until they find him.

This book was another highly bingable, fast-paced pageturner. I liked the characters and the outdoorsy setting set in Durango, Colorado.

Thank you, @netgalley and @blackstonepublishing for the advanced copy of this book.

First of all this cover is dynamite!! The premise is absolutely thrilling and I was so excited to pick this book up! I really enjoyed the family drama of the book, the questions of what is going on, how and why, and what am I missing? Godfrey did a great job keeping the reader hooked to the end. This would make for a great beach read or a book to read on the weekend to keep you up at night! I can't wait to see what Godfrey writes next!

4.5 stars - The Followers will have you thinking twice before posting on social media!

A cleverly plotted psychological thriller with emotional and plot twists you won't see coming. My heart was torn between Molly and Liv, as I wanted them both to find their happy endings, but it'd be at the cost of the other person.

I enjoyed the Influencer POV, especially all of the behind-the-scenes information that most people aren't privy to, or even think about. The mystery of whether Sam is actually Scott will keep you second guessing yourself, and I love how the story unfolded.

I'm not gonna lie, my cold dead heart teared up a bit at the end, and I was not expecting that to happen. This a book I wish I could read again for the first time, but I know Bradeigh always gives me the closure I need. Absolutely loved all the twists and recommend it to everyone who loves a good mystery.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗦 is another terrifically twisty read from @bradeighgodfrey! I can't get enough of social media influencer-centered stories, and this whodunit was a great listen that kept me guessing. What I love most about Bradeigh's books is how engrossing her writing is - the dialogue feels so real and I get completely sucked into the plot. Definitely add this one to your TBR!

I absolutely love books with crazy and unpredictable people, and this book had it all. I loved the two women, the Taylor Swift parts and that incredible ending. I truly had no clue who the murderer was.

Highly recommend this one! She’s becoming an auto buy author for me!

Molly Sullivan, a social media influencer, has been sharing her entire life with her followers since her husband left her when her daughter was born five years ago. She was alone, barely making ends meet, and started a social media account for advice on how to care for a newborn while renovating her fixer upper home. Now, she’s married to the man she plans to spend the rest of her life with, Scott. Scott and his daughter, Ella, have been living in a camper in the woods for nine long years before moving in with Molly and her daughter, which seems strange.

When Molly shares a photo of her new husband, Scott blows up and demands that she take it down. She does, but once you share something on the internet, it never truly disappears forever.

Liv Barett has been searching for the man that killed her sister, Kristine, nine years ago. The police have exhausted all leads, and the boyfriend took off with Liv’s niece…never to be seen again. Liv’s coworker’s have been talking nonstop about this Molly Sullivan influencer, so Liv checks her out, she sees the newlywed photo with her sisters killer staring right at her! She’s found him, but how will she warn his new wife about his past?

I know some people are sick of the social media/podcast characters in books, but this one was fast paced, thrilling, and kept me guessing until the explosive ending. The multiple POV chapters between Liv and Molly were short, and the anonymous character was mysterious but I loved how they tied into the whole story.

I loved that this one had mixed media with comments posted online. Told by perspectives of Liz, Molly and a mysterious stalker, I liked that there was more than one point of view. Liz was determined to find her neice, and I commended her for her tenacity. Molly was fairly likeable, and you see her trying to balance everything while being an influencer and being authentic.

I think what left me feeling like this was just was okay was that it was pretty obvious what was happening, and you’re just watching the characters put the pieces together. I wanted a huge reveal, and there really wasn’t one since you know what’s happening from the beginning. This was an easy book that I couldn’t put down, but ultimately I found it to be predictable and I wanted more.
