Molly Sullivan, a social media influencer, has been sharing her entire life with her followers since her husband left her when her daughter was born five years ago. She was alone, barely making ends meet, and started a social media account for advice on how to care for a newborn while renovating her fixer upper home. Now, she’s married to the man she plans to spend the rest of her life with, Scott. Scott and his daughter, Ella, have been living in a camper in the woods for nine long years before moving in with Molly and her daughter, which seems strange.
When Molly shares a photo of her new husband, Scott blows up and demands that she take it down. She does, but once you share something on the internet, it never truly disappears forever.
Liv Barett has been searching for the man that killed her sister, Kristine, nine years ago. The police have exhausted all leads, and the boyfriend took off with Liv’s niece…never to be seen again. Liv’s coworker’s have been talking nonstop about this Molly Sullivan influencer, so Liv checks her out, she sees the newlywed photo with her sisters killer staring right at her! She’s found him, but how will she warn his new wife about his past?
I know some people are sick of the social media/podcast characters in books, but this one was fast paced, thrilling, and kept me guessing until the explosive ending. The multiple POV chapters between Liv and Molly were short, and the anonymous character was mysterious but I loved how they tied into the whole story.

I loved that this one had mixed media with comments posted online. Told by perspectives of Liz, Molly and a mysterious stalker, I liked that there was more than one point of view. Liz was determined to find her neice, and I commended her for her tenacity. Molly was fairly likeable, and you see her trying to balance everything while being an influencer and being authentic.
I think what left me feeling like this was just was okay was that it was pretty obvious what was happening, and you’re just watching the characters put the pieces together. I wanted a huge reveal, and there really wasn’t one since you know what’s happening from the beginning. This was an easy book that I couldn’t put down, but ultimately I found it to be predictable and I wanted more.

I’ve been searching all year for a well done book with an influencer MC and this was it!
This was a page turner domestic/psychological thriller and I was fascinated. I liked and disliked the characters just enough and wasn’t sure how it would all resolve.
Also one of the MCs is a Physio so I was 100% here for that.
The end felt a bit more rushed to tidy loose ends but I appreciated things tied up.
Read if you enjoyed: Everyone Here is Lying, Wrong Place, Wrong Time or Sometimes I Lie

Wowza this took me a long time to get through and I don't know why. I'm an outlier here yet again, I thought this book was a decent read, but I didn't love it.
What I liked:
I do love the behind the scenes with the influencer lifestyle (I know, everyone else is totally over it but I like it, I feel like a voyeur into a different life) and I especially liked the hate message board messages, I thought they gave total authenticity to the story.
I liked some parts of the mystery, the questioning whether Scott/Sam really is a good guy or a bad guy was intriguing.
The ending was decent.
What didn't really work for me:
The villain. The villain's chapters. The villain's motivation. Totally shallow and there wasn't much development of any of that. There really wasn't much character development in the entire book.
With as in the spotlight and "authentic" as Molly was (she even took a video crew to her pap smear!) I find it super difficult to believe that she had only posted ONE photo of her relationship and that was at her wedding. Off brand.
Although this is an adult novel, it really feels like YA.
I am definitely an outlier, there are many people who have adored this book, so if it interests you, give it a try. There are some good parts, to me it was enjoyable, just not great.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for this eARC! I LOVED Imposter so I was very excited to dive into Bradeigh’s next adventure!! I don’t always love influencer/social media based books, but I felt like this really worked! Molly’s struggle to balance her husbands privacy with her ability to connect with her followers felt relatable. I questioned all the characters at some point and it definitely kept me guessing. The Followers had the twisty turns, a little bit of romance, and that unsettling spine-chilling thrill!! This would be an amazing beach read with a twist.

You know I always read an influencer story and this was an interesting take on this trend. This has a slow build but then takes off and is pretty fast paced. I enjoyed the dynamic between Liv and Molly and found their friendship very relatable. The unknown POV was pretty creepy and kept the story moving. I especially appreciated the GOMI-like commentary from hate followers about Molly’s every move - Godfrey really did her homework!

Molly is a popular influencer and has just got engaged. When she posts a picture of her fiancé, he has a very negative reaction so she takes it down. It’s too late though. Someone has already seen it.
This is a really influencer thriller that keeps you guessing. I loved the backstory and how we weren’t completely sure what happened. It changed a lot throughout but you get the true story in the end. I thought the dogs in the book were very cute too and don’t worry none get hurt. I also find it really creepy when there’s an evil character with chapters but you don’t know who it is.
“But knowing that about you makes me pretty certain: the best way to get what I want is to threaten the people you love.”
The Followers comes out 8/29.

The Followers is such a fun summer thriller that takes on social media culture and privacy concerns.
Molly is a popular social media personality in the mom and dating realm, but when she posts a photo of her fiance Scott freaks out after she posts a photo of him, she starts to question how much she really knows about him.
Liv Barrett saw the post and is sure Scott is the man who killed her sister years ago, and uses Molly's social media posts to create "accidental" meetings with her to try to get more information.
While the two start to unravel the last decade of Scott's life, someone more dangerous than Scott himself is also on their trail.
The Followers is a fast, twisty read that will have you frantically turning the pages to get to the end!

I am not usually one for thrillers, but I am one for Bradeigh Godfrey so I went ahead and requested this anywhere I could ask for it. Luckily I was able to read this in both ebook and audio thanks to the generosity of Blackstone. The audio was fantastic but I couldn't listen fast enough so I switched to ebook for the last bit.
I messaged Bradeigh early on and said, "I am not sure if I like Molly." I also wasnt sure if I was supposed to. lol.
Turns out, I remained conflicted for the majority of the book. This kept me wondering the entire time. I was deeply invested in figuring out what happened.
The ending was a bit of a let down in that it just tied up nicely. I had guessed what was happening a couple chapters before the big reveal. I think that says less about the author and more about my never stopping brain!
Overall, I couldn't get through it fast enough and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you to the publishing team for this read. It was one of my most anticipated this year.

Another head spinning, fantastic psychological thriller by bradeigh! Bradeigh does such a great job with giving you the full picture but not letting you know who’s the villain until the very last second and then you’re like OMG!! She is phenomenal and I can’t wait to read more!

The Followers is a fast-paced, twisty mystery about a woman, Liv, whose sister was murdered 9 years prior and Molly, a social media darling who is now married to the main suspect. I liked the dual perspectives and found the story to be a very quick read. When Liv's sister was killed, her 1 year old daughter went missing, along with the baby's father, Sam. Liv finally tracks down Sam through a fluke and decides to move to his town and befriend his new wife, an influencer mom. The story is a bit far-fetched, but a fun and fast read if you can suspend disbelief.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC. All thoughts are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Followers by Bradeigh Godfrey! What a fun ride this story is!
This novel is told POV style from Olivia (who is still reeling from the murder of her sister and subsequent abduction of her niece 9 years earlier), Molly (a lifestyle family blogger and newlywed), and an unknown who appears to be stalking them. There are also excerpts from Molly’s fans and enemies message boards that follow up her posted videos/content.
The author does a really fabulous job with timing and spacing. It slowly builds and then about halfway though it’s like a sprint! I read the last 40% in one sitting because I COULD NOT STOP. I had to find out how it was all going to end.
I was worried about halfway through that it was going to end predictably but I’m happy to report it did not and I was very surprised by the twists and turns. Especially the ending!
I would classify this book as a thriller, but it does have a romance aspect that it follows too, so if that’s not your thing you may not love it. I thought it was great!
Thank you to NetGalley, Blackstone Publishing, and Bradeigh Godfrey for the opportunity to read this ARC. I’m looking forward to checking out the author’s other work now too!

The Followers by Bradeigh Godfrey grips you from the first page and doesn't let go.
The author excelled at crafting a storyline filled with uncomfortable tension and suspense that will keep you intrigued until the final page.
I love stories with stalking and social media topics and Godfrey did an absolute bombshell of a job with this title.
This book totally pulls you in for the ride. I could not put it down.
Filled with twists and turns and shocking revelations, The Followers is one you don't want to miss!
"I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own."
Thank You NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

Molly Sullivan is a single mom and rocking it as an influencer; her brand is growing when she becomes engaged to Scott. After Molly posts a picture announcing their engagement, her new fiancé demands she keep he and his daughter off her social media. He’s wildly private and extremely protective, but Molly starts to wonder if he has something to hide.
Insert Liv, who has a history with Scott. Liv suspects Scott is Sam - her sister’s ex. Nine years ago, Liv’s sister was murdered and Sam disappeared along with the daughter they shared.
When Liv enters Molly’s life, secrets emerge and truths come to light.
This story was fast-paced and the influencer-angle was fun. Toeing the line between sharing enough and sharing too much on social media is something we all have to think about when it comes to sharing our lives on the internet so I like how relevant that storyline is.
I did guess at a few of the twists but others took me by surprise. Overall a solid read!
Thank you to NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Oohhh, yummy I loved this twisty thriller involving two women with some social media/influencer vibes thrown in. This is an author I will be looking our for!

Combine a social media influencer + mysterious unsolved murder + potential suspect on the run + a dash of romance, and you’ve got The Followers.
This was a speedy read about influencer Molly Sullivan, her new husband and river raft guide Scott, and new friend Olivia searching for her missing niece. The plot moves at a great clip, although there were some points of dense description where I glazed over paragraphs. It’s not scary or gory, and juuuust creepy enough to keep the reader intrigued. The commentary coming from Molly’s followers was spot on and definitely a statement about influencer culture.
It’s definitely a fun read but from the characters to the “suspense” portion, ultimately not very memorable. Could be a great beach read for something fast!

Thank you for the opportunity to preview The Followers.
What do you get when you have a social media influencer and a man on the run from a murder?
The Followers centers on a young woman, her child, and mysterious husband who live in Colorado. Molly makes a living as a social influencer while her husband own a river rafting company. Molly shares her life endlessly. And why not. That’s her job and life.
But her husband is typically not in her pictures till one day he is and this man who has hidden successfully for 9 years has been seen. By many and for some who are looking for a man who allegedly killed his fiancé, took his baby and fled in the night.
And another young woman who is the victims sister sees that photo too and she too is seeking revenge for her sister and for the baby that’s her niece
You can run but can you hide!
Very good book. Lots of twists and interesting characters.
4 big stars!

I always love a good thriller involving social media influencers and Godfrey definitely delivered!
Molly Sullivan is a social media darling and I really loved that her persona on and off socials was consistent. She was genuinely a kind and welcoming person and it was refreshing that while curated, her online presence wasn't entirely fabricated. It was easy to see how the incredibly private and essentially reclusive Scott fell in love with her and compromised his and his daughter's identities by pursuing and ultimately marrying her.
Parallel to Scott and Molly's story, is Liv - a driven woman who lives a life of isolation as a result of trauma from her past. Her sister was murdered ten years ago by her boyfriend Sam and that very night, Sam disappeared with Liv's niece Gabriella. Liv has never been the same and has made it her mission to find her niece and bring justice for her sister.
Filled with twists, this one kept me guessing and kept me wanting more. It was well paced, the characters felt authentic, and I loved the back stories. There are secrets woven throughout the pages and I loved the complex nature of the relationships and histories.
While some of the twists may be a little predictable, there were definitely many things that surprised me and it was fun trying to unravel everything. It was hard to know who to trust and who was reliable. I also enjoyed how some things played out differently than I had expected.
I listened to The Followers on audio and really enjoyed it. The female narrator was strong and I appreciated her different vocals for Liv and Molly. I also loved that a male narrator was used for the unidentified character - it added a chilling element to the delivery and really had me questioning everything and everyone.
Thank you to Blackstone Publishing and Libro.FM for the copy.

As irritating as I find social media influencers, I am also hopelessly fascinated by them, so I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing them as characters in mysteries, thrillers, and horror novels. At their best, we'll get to see their humanity and a peek behind the "highlights reel" of their life, and at worst, well...perhaps they'll get what they deserve. Mommy influencer Molly Sullivan is more or less a good egg and in the former category, and we read of her struggling to find like-minded friends in a new town and balancing a new marriage to a Scott, a private, introverted fellow, with sharing her life on social media, maintaining engagement with her followers and making good in her promise to always let them in on her authentic life journey. Meanwhile, she does make a new friend. A young woman named Liv, who is temporarily living locally to Molly and who thinks that Molly's husband is actually the man who killed her sister and kidnapped her niece over a decade ago. As Molly and Liv's friendship deepens, Liv is increasingly convinced that she has tracked down the right man...but then, who is the stranger creepily sneaking around and watching all of them? I don't love romance mixed into my thrillers and there is a lot of that in this one but it's not shoehorned in or handled sloppily, so it's tolerable in a story that's fast-paced and a lot of fun.

I think I've read one too many influencer books. This one was perfectly fine, I'm just over the concept, and they are all starting to read so similarly.
