THAT COVER!!! I was hooked the moment I saw it. Then the first few pages hooked me even further!! This was a complex murder mystery/love story/family drama that has two grown siblings working together to track down their older sister's killer and find their missing niece.

Interwoven is the story of a famous influencer and her relationship with her husband and stepdaughter and the secrets she stumbles on. Full of lies, deception, snarky online follower commentary and so many twists with a heart wrenching ending.

I really enjoyed this and am happy to report it did not disappoint! Excellent on audio too narrated by Eileen Stevens and Tim Lounibos. Highly recommended for fans of books like People like her by Ellery Lloyd or The last thing he told me by Laura Dave.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy and Librofm for a complimentary ALC in exchange for my honest review! I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own.

A new to me author is always fun to find. My first Bradeigh Godfrey book but definitely not my last. I loved the story layout and writing style. This was fast and fun! So much action packed in. Countless twists and turns.
Thank you NetGalley, Bradeigh Godfrey and Blackstone Publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book

THE FOLLOWERS was an intriguing, easy read that has a completely plausible storyline, but my hang up is the characters reactions being completely implausible. I just can’t see anyone getting over things as quickly and easily as they did. Even so, if you’re looking for a quick binge read then this would be a good choice.

Thank you Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing for the arc.

Thank you so much @BlackstonePublishing for giving me this ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review (Release Date | 29 August 2023)

SYNOPSIS | Molly (an instagram mommy influencer) posts a photo of her fiancé (Scott) on her stories not excepting the argument that ensues. He is a notoriously private guy & doesn't want him or his daughter being posted about on social media. One of Molly's followers (Liv) see's this photo & recognizes him as her deceased sisters ex-boyfriend who she believes had something to do with her death.

WHAT I LIKED:
- the behind the scenes of running a popular social media account (I love it when a social media influencer is the main character!)
- the cat & mouse vibes (although the pacing is pretty slow until the end)
- a perfectly breezy beach read summer thriller

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:
- it's pretty unrealistic that the first time Molly shares a photo of her partner is when they get engaged especially as she is known for documenting the minutiae details of her day
- the unidentified chapters didn't add any value except reiterating "I'm coming for you"
- I didn't really care who the 'bad guy' was
- more happened in the last 75 pages than throughout the entire story

I'm equal parts intrigued and confused by social media influencers and any book that gives you a little behind the scenes of an influencer grabs my attention. In The Followers you see the good, the bad and the ugly of living your life online. While not easy subject matter (there could be triggers for some readers), this was the type of book that I picked up, got sucked into and was an easy read that kept my attention to the very last pages. If you're looking for a book that is part domestic thriller and physiological suspense with a little bit of romance, The Followers could be the book for you!

This is such a fun, twisty thriller, perfect for a day at the beach! Molly is a popular influencer on social media who is newly married to super introvert, Scott. They each are raising a daughter and he is adamant that Molly keep him and his 9 yr old daughter out of her online lifestyle. Liv, a traveling physical therapist, is new in town, but it’s no accident that she is in the same town as Scott. Molly accidentally, and very briefly, posted an engagement picture of her new fiancé and Liv is convinced that he is the man who murdered her sister and kidnapped her niece 9 years ago. From there the story unfolds and I never guessed how it was all going to end! I love stories about social media, it was interesting to learn about the dark side of influencing and how hard it is to live their lives so publicly, never able to make everyone happy but always having to come up with new content to keep the masses engaged. Thank you Netgalley, Blackstone Publishing and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. This book will be available for purchase on August 29, 2023

4.5⭐️

This book was so good! I loved the short chapters. It keeps me turning the pages even faster. I’ve only read a couple of books about social media influencers, but so far I’ve really enjoyed them and this was no exception.

I loved the characters. I felt they were all well-rounded and I could connect with them. I loved the snark chapters. They were definitely a favorite. The different points of view were great. There wasn’t too many, so it was easy to keep track of.

I thought that this was the typical thriller and I thought I had it all figured out, and I was so, so very wrong. My jaw literally dropped. I did not see THAT coming.

Although I am not a romance reader, I did enjoy the little bits of romance in this book. And the ending was great. I think it ended on a perfect not.

Thank you to Bradeigh Godfrey, NetGalley, and Blackstone Publishing for the eARC!

The writing is great and the concept is so interesting. On paper I should've loved this, but I think it's missing the spark for me for some reason.

3.75/5 ⭐⭐⭐

"Thank you, NetGalley and Blackstone Publishing, for granting me access to this book in exchange for an honest review."

Molly is a social media influencer who marries a single dad named Scott.
Scott is a recluse and wants to live his life very privately, in comparison to Molly, who shares everything with her millions of followers.

Liv has been searching for 9 years for the man she believes is responsible for murdering her sister and kidnapping her niece. When she suddenly sees his face on one of Molly’s posts, Liv makes her way to the town where Molly & Scott live to find out the truth.

I'll start by saying I enjoyed this book. I found it to be an easy read, and I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the cat and mouse element of it. It was divided into 3 POVs: Molly, Liv, and "the killer." I was almost certain I had the whole story figured out early on. The twist actually threw me for a loop! There was even a bit of romance in this, which was a pleasant surprise. The only reason why I didn't round it up to a solid 4 stars is due to the story not being super impactful. I don’t think I will be thinking much about it in the days to come, BUT that shouldn't take away from the fact that I liked it a lot, and I will recommend it to anyone looking for a fun suspense story.

Overall, this was a good domestic thriller suspense, and I am going to check out this author's other book! PS Bradeigh Godfrey - thank you for not harming the dogs. :D

4.25 stars, if I could 😂

The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat. I truly didn’t know what to expect from the ending, but it was perfect. About 25% through it got the slightest bit repetitive but that wasn’t long lived. At points I wanted to shake Molly to have some common sense. I read this in only 3 sittings. Highly recommend!

This book provided a truly enlightening exploration of the realm of social media influencers and the perils associated with oversharing. I was thoroughly captivated by the narrative, gaining a unique perspective into the intricacies of the influencer lifestyle. The suspense woven throughout, coupled with unexpected plot twists, held me utterly engaged from start to finish. Bradleigh Godfrey's storytelling prowess is commendable, and I eagerly anticipate delving into more of their work in the future! #TheFollowers #NetGalley

Obsessed. Everything Bradeigh Godfrey writes has me hooked within just a few lines. I started reading her first book because of her presence on Bookstagram and to support her, but I quickly found that she is extremely talented at writing thrillers! "The Followers" was not an exception!

I loved the characters. Molly is bubbly and famous and lonely. Scott is full of deception and mystery. And Liv is almost a creepy stalker that you have a love-hate relationship with. What you won't expect is the shocking twist at the end.

I couldn't put this book down. As I said at the beginning, I'm a bit obsessed!

I read and enjoyed the authors debut thriller - Imposter, so I was excited for this new release. I totally expected another thriller but this was more woman’s fiction with light suspense. Not a bad thing at all but expectations resulted in a bit of a disappointment.

I love an insiders look into Influencers life and the difficulties it comes with. Especially authenticity and the expectations that followers put on Influencers. The author did a great job exploring this.

I think if you enjoy the authors co-written books like Beach Trap and Imposter them you’ll most likely find this an enjoyable read. A tad cheesy at times but I can let it go.

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

🎧Song Pairing: Don’t Blame Me - Taylor Swift (Taylor was the foundation of 2 characters’ friendship. That’s like 2 people saying they both love oxygen🤦🏼‍♀️)

💭What I thought would happen:

I wanted a social media thriller. I predicted a 5 star read for sure. I wanted a hardcore twist

📖What actually happens:

Liv has found him. The man who murdered her sister after many long years of searching thanks to his famous influencer wife. The police won’t take Liv seriously as the post was removed 30 minutes after posting and the case is basically…dead. Liv is taking it upon herself to transfer to Molly and track down her husband whomever he is pretending to be now.

🗯Thoughts:

Always love a social media trope? Plot point? Whatever. Point is always enjoy an influencer as a character so thought FOR SURE WOULD OBSESS OVER. Not so much. Molly was just ok but super sweet.

Adore the cover. I mean come on! Pop of colour, a bit of mystery…tell me more with this cover!

I felt the way everything unfolded was underwhelming like when you’re served room temperature fries, still edible but not what was wanted.

Molly puts it all online. Being a social media influencer is how Molly paid for her and her daughter's bills when her husband abandoned her. When Molly gets engaged to seemingly perfect Scott, he makes it clear that he and his daughter are not to be pictured or talked about to her many followers. Molly just thinks he's private- she has no idea that Scott has reasons for being completely offline and they may put Molly and her daughter in danger.

This thriller is fast paced and really made me think about social media and security. I don't understand why someone would want to put so much out there for others to see, but think this book did a good job of helping me understand the influencer's thought process for that. This story is a little more on the scale of worst-case scenario, but it still makes you think about what you share and when that might leave you open to security risks. I didn't love all the characters, but I thought this action-packed book was good and it especially created a mood of uncertainty. I've read some of Godfrey's co-authored books, but this one holds up to those and I love that it's a different genre than I'd previously read of hers.

Thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy for review.

I flew through The Followers and loved all the twists (some were a bit predictable or unrealistic) but thought it was a fun read especially for those who are interested in any way about the “influencer” culture. I wish the ending had been a bit more realistic but still a fun read.

Short synopsis: Liv’s sister is murdered and her niece kidnapped supposedly by Sam her sisters boyfriend. Now 10 years later Liv spots Sam in the IG feed of Influencer Invincible Molly.

My thoughts: After reading and loving Imposter I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Bradeigh’s newest novel the followers.

I loved the social media story mixed with an unsolved murder/kidnapping, this kept me captivated whole time. And the social media posts at the beginning of the chapter was a great addition.

I totally thought I had the twist figured out, but I was way off. That’s one thing I really look for in a thriller. Add this to you late summer reading list because it’s a fun one!

Read if you love:
* Secrets
* Social media
* Unsolved murder
* Unexpected twists
* Family

"The hardest thing about betrayal is that it never comes from your enemies."

A suspenseful, fast-paced psychological thriller told in multiple POVs, The Followers is a must-read thriller that asks the question, "how well do we really know those closest to us?"

Molly Sullivan is a social media influencer who shares lots of her life's details online, but marries a man who is very private and wants his and his daughter's details kept off of social media. As Molly unpacks boxes at her new home, she comes across some items that don't quite make sense, and may play into her husband's need for privacy. Maybe her new friend Liv can offer some support? We'll see... There are secrets upon secrets waiting for you to uncover!

The good and bad of social media meets a twisty thriller where everyone seems to be hiding something except the influencer who founded her brand on "authenticity."

I enjoy books that center around social media in some way. It's relevant and eye opening and something I haven't grown tired of as yet so that drew me to this one. Molly is an influencer, a single mom who's documented the good, bad, and ugly of being a single mom while trying to be her most authentic self. When she posts a selfie with her new husband she's doesn't understand why he's so upset about it. There's no way for her to foresee the ramifications of that one photo.

Definitely a page turner! I enjoyed the different POV's, the character portrayals, the secrets and twists and turns of the narrative. I think it was a touch too long in the end so it didn't have quite the impact I was hoping for with the reveals at the end but I enjoyed it overall and would consider reading the author again. Definitely check it out if you enjoy books with an emphasis on social media.

Thank you so much for this early read Netgalley and Blackstone Publishing. Also, thank you Bradeigh Godfrey for continuing to write badass books.

Imagine your sister is murdered and your niece is kidnapped. Her murder goes unsolved for 9years and your niece is still missing. The boyfriend is also MIA. One night 9 years ago he showed up on grandmas doorstep demanding your sisters new address and then she turned up dead. Obviously he did it—or did he? Fast forward to present day when Molly Sullivan—an online celebrity—posts a picture of her and her new fiancé and it has a striking resemblance to your sisters killer. What are you gonna do?

We get to find out what Olivia will do in order to save her niece. What a WILD ride. It is suspenseful throughout this entire book. It held my interest fully. It is modern and realistic. Absolutely love this read!

My favorite character is the German shepherd Hoopi. Gosh. Get yourself a good guard dog.l—and listen to its warnings.

If you’ve slept in this author, don’t continue cuz you are missing out! Her other book The Imposter is just as good as this one!
