Thanks to NetGalley and Kalorama for the audiobook ARC!

I enjoy reading opinion pieces. I even enjoy opinion pieces that are not my opinion. What I don't enjoy is reading an opinion piece that is written solely for the purpose of stirring up anger and fomenting division, while containing no actual factual information. I was really interested in hearing some facts and statistics about the problems with the American higher education system, because I agree that there are problems! But instead of any actual data, the authors resorted to simple name-calling. Everything was 'Marxist' this and 'indoctrination' that. There were also several times when a sentence started out referring to issues with the K-12 educational system, only to finish up with a complete non-sequitur of an about face to bring everything back to the Marxist indoctrination happening at American universities.

This book serves the purpose it was written for: to stir up drama, promote the conservative cause, and give pundits and talking heads some new soundbites. But if you're looking for real information or an informed discussion of the modern educational system, look elsewhere.
