I first noticed this because of Tiffani Thiessen, but I loved the concept of using up leftovers. Our family doesn't mind leftovers, but I don't get creative with them at all. This gives you some ways to use what you have. I feel like her personality comes through, and I always like a cookbook that gives me more than just recipes. Definitely recommend this one.
Thank you to Net Galley and Worthy Publishing for a digital ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
Having been a fan of Tiffani Thiessen since her Saved by the Bell and BH90210 days, I was so excited when I learned she had a new cookbook coming out! I’ve watched several seasons of her cooking show, Dinner at Tiffani’s, and I also own her previous cookbook.
Here We Go Again utilizes so many ingredients you may already have in your kitchen for multiple recipes. There are some really unique dishes in this book and everything looks mouthwatering and delicious! I can’t wait to try the Bagel French Onion Soup and the Cornbread Skillet Sloppy Joes!
I did find the layout of the book slightly confusing, but I think that might be due to the unproofed advanced copy. The concept of this cookbook is great and there are so many recipes in here that look to be bursting with flavor and originality, I can see myself using this book as a reference for many family meals!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the Publisher for gifting me an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
made a few recipes and nothing was a stand out. i really liked the concept of the books, using of leftovers different ways.
From various TV shows, including cooking shows, to her IG posts and now having met her in person for a photo op with her new cookbook, I believe she is a genuinely kind and fun person. This cookbook exemplifies that in the pictures of her and her family as well as the blurbs she writes preceding each recipe. I'm excited to dig in and start trying my hand at cooking some of the recipes and I'm not much of a cook!
Reducing food waste is in, and there is a mini tern of cookbooks dedicated to finding ways to use up leftovers. Charming as Here We Go Again is, this celebrity cookbook is far from the best of the bunch. Thiessen offers tasty, achievable recipes with an exceptionally excellent holiday chapter (the Halloween brownies are incredible crowd-pleasers) but next to nothing that qualifies as advice or options for using up leftovers beyond suggesting that leftover uncooked produce could be used, for example. If the theme of the cookbook were different, I would endorse it wholeheartedly for people who want a straightforward, modern American collection.
I love a good cookbook & this one is putting a fun spin on traditional recipes. Here We Go Again features ways to reuse, repurpose, and jazz up your leftovers. Not only are there recipes that show us how to use up yesterday's supper, but there are also many that teach the reader how to clean out the fridge...and make something out of, seemingly, nothing!
I am admittedly not a very adventurous cook so many of these recipes are new to me.
-Bread Salad
-Spaghetti Pie
- Meatless patty melts
I love that there are a wide variety of bases covered. Appetizers, main courses, dessert, soups, and sides. Many of which feel both healthy and kid friendly. The pictures scattered throughout the book feel as quirky as the recipes do. Thank you to Worthy Books & NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest review. 4 stars.
I heard about Tiffani Thiessen’s first cookbook, Pull Up a Chair, from my friend’s Facebook. She loved the cookbook so much, her New Year’s resolution the following year was to make every single recipe in the cookbook. Her writes up about each recipe intrigued me. Her family enjoyed it so much she repeated the exercise the following year too. Still much in love with Tiffani’s recipes she went to a book signing for this new cookbook. After trying the recipes and and wonderful budget stretching ideas and tips I am a huge fan too!
The recipes are killer and the hilarious family photos in the cookbook are a fun addition. Tiffani is someone you want as a friend and neighbor. The block parties would be epic.
Try the arancini and the Swedish meatballs!
I love the concept of this cookbook -- most of us (let's be honest, pretty much all of us, right?) end up with some leftovers almost every night and this book will help us to minimize the food waste. The recipes in this book are easy and delicious, ingredients are pantry-ready, they come with beautiful and fun photographs, and just a fun read. The book has several chapters that include bread, cheese, dairy, holiday, and more. Thanks to Tiffani, I now know what to do with leftover mashed potato and cotton candy! And, of course, not together! :)
I have been waiting for this cookbook. I absolutely LOVE Tiffani Thiessen and enjoyed her last cookbook. This one has some recipes I would pass on but a lot that I can't wait to make!! I absolutely love this cover. The whole book was done so well taking us all back to the 70's and 80's. I also loved that as usual she has her family be pat of something she loves. I definitely recommend this cookbook to people wanting to mix things up.
Thank you NetGalley and Worthy Publishing for allowing me to see this new cookbook in advance for my honest opinion.
Thank you Worthy Publishing for this ARC. I need to be honest. I am not a skilled cook. Cook books are usually more like art books in my collection that are beautiful to look at but I’ll never use. My speciality is breakfast and melting cheese on something.
Here we go again is fun and accessible. I love the references to her mom’s cooking and the flexibility of the recipes. While there are instructions and ingredients, there are plenty of notes on how to use what’s on hand for you. This book reminds me of Milk Bar Life by Christina Tosi. The 70s design of the book is fun and appealing.
I actually want to use these recipes. The recipes I can't wait to make are: Baked French Toast with Jammy Whip, Saucy Swedish Meatballs, Buffalo Chicken Bean Dip, Hamburger JR VP, Waldorf Chicken Salad Lettuce Cups, All-the-cheeses Spread and Fondue, Trick-or-Treat Fudge, and Thanksgiving Shepard’s Pie.
Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!
Wow! Loved this book, not just the recipes but the amazing photos! I can't wait to try so many of the recipes, they seem so manageable especially with items you often already have at home. A few I am excited about: cornbread skillet sloppy joes, parmesan ring cacio e pepe, and spaghetti pie! The retro style of this cookbook is amazing, the dishes are beautiful the outfits and photos of the family in funny situations made me smile. This is a great budget friendly cookbook!
What an absolutely stunning cookbook. From the moment you open the book, the pages are filled with vibrant pictures that truly make you feel like you are along side her in the kitchen. The recipes are ones that most families would eat. Some appear to be more challenging then others, but many would be ones even the most discerning eater we would love. You can tell she is a mother and her food choices reflect it. An excellent addition to any cookbook collection.
Aw, this book makes me so happy!!
I grew up on _Saved by the Bell_ and loved Thiessen in both that and _White Collar_, so jumped on her first cookbook, Pull Up A Chair: Recipes from My Family to Yours (made even better because she came to Seattle to promo it and I got to meet her!). So finding out she released another cookbook truly made my day.
The eARC formatting was a bit wonky, so I was hesitant to try the recipes before my "real" copy arrives--definitely looking forward to that! But thankfully, I could still enjoy the photos, note specific recipes to try (read: all of them), and do my own share of reminiscing over leftovers of yesteryear and how they might reenter my menu today.
As a working adult and sole breadwinner, I've learned to appreciate leftovers like I never would have imagined as a kid. I still remember thinking as a child, "Gosh, leftovers? How hard is it to cook something new every day?" ROFL! Let me tell you, childhood self ... very hard. :D Between decision fatigue, cost, time, and effort ... leftovers are amazing. And this cookbook is a great resource to use them up and even in new ways (le gasp) without reinventing the wheel. Love it.
I received an eARC of the book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.
"Here We Go Again" is a clever cookbook that serves as a smart and practical guide to making the most of leftovers and reducing food waste. It not only helps you save money but also encourages a more sustainable approach to cooking. The book is beautifully illustrated with enticing photos that will inspire you to whip up every dish. With its family-friendly recipes and innovative ideas for reusing ingredients, this cookbook is a must-have for anyone looking to be more resourceful (and save some money!) in the kitchen.
I really love the concept of turning leftovers into something else. Great idea for a cookbook. I’ve tried a few recipes in this cookbook and they did not disappoint! I highly recommend this cookbook for amazing ways to redo leftovers in a creative way.
Thank you NetGalley and Worthy Books for the arc of this cookbook.
Really excited to use the many tips in this book. One of my goals Is to use up leftovers and be more conscious of food waste
Thanks to Netgalley and Worthy Publishing for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.
That is brilliant !! Not only a book full of delicious-looking recipes, but zero waste since we get to use leftovers for the dishes ! I couldn't believe what's in that heavenly chocolate cake !! The photos in there will make anyone drool with hunger yummy !
Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of Here We Go Again.
What a great book dedicated to the unsung hero of meals: leftovers!
I love leftovers because 1. wasting food is a tragedy and 2. you don't have to overthink and wonder what you're going to make for dinner, lunch, and/or breakfast.
I liked how the recipes were varied in taste, flavors, and texture and I really love that all of the recipes came with photos. YES!
I also loved the personal anecdotes, the goofy, fun photos and how Ms. Thiessen incorporated her supportive family into her work.

Stretch your budget and avoid food waste by remixing leftovers into family-favourite weeknight meals with the help of this smart guide to everyday cooking.
Leftovers can be so much more than the sum of their parts. Yesterday’s dinner, last week’s baking experiment, snack drawer remnants, and cheese drawer bits and bobs are all an opportunity to create something new and delicious. And the holidays—they’re a leftovers goldmine!
Here We Go Again is dedicated to the recipes your leftovers deserve, whether they're the classics in your rotation, the dishes that maybe didn't hit the spot the first time around, or those last-ditch meal efforts you throw at your kids, only to have half the macaroni still left in the pot. They're also perfect for ingredients that would otherwise be trash-bound—those carrots threatening to go soft, the bunches of kale from the overenthusiastic farmers' market haul, that half a loaf of bread getting harder by the day, the nubbins of cheese that don't seem good for anything other than late-night snacking.
Or the dreaded 1 cup of sour cream or buttermilk inevitably left in the back of the fridge from when you made something else with it. Or maybe it's the chicken breasts or steaks you stocked up on when they were on sale and are now sitting in your freezer, waiting for an invitation to be used. And of course, it's all the food staring back at you from your fridge after a holiday meal (and worked way too hard on to throw away!)
These are the dishes that we need right now—and in so many ways. We need to get food on the table, every meal, every day. We need to use the food that we have because we don't always know when we'll get to the store or how much we need to make our budget stretch. And above all else we need to take care of ourselves and our families with food that tastes good.
I used to date a guy who refused to eat leftovers: I live for leftovers as they are so versatile. (He is still unmarried and living at home at 52 years old so I am sure that his mommy is still making him “new” food every dang day! What is Thanksgiving or Christmas without turkey casserole or soup or copious amounts of potatoes being reheated with some goat cheese and real butter and eaten for days???) Personally, I would buy a bag of all-dressed chips for that cup of sour cream, but that is me 😊
I am a fan of Tiffani’s other cookbook, but I cannot get over wanting to call her Valerie or stop wondering where the Amber in her name went. This book did not disappoint as food waste is such a hot topic right now and this book goes beyond “throw everything in a pot and make soup with it” which seems to be a lot of the suggestions right now for stopping food waste. Great ideas and easy-to-understand recipes mean this book will fly off the shelves – fabulous read.

Retro, nostalgic, clever....
In a great homage to leftovers, the 70's and the 80's (as perfectly captured in the production design, styling and photographs) and cleverly updated for a thoroughly modern palate. Great ideas (certainly, I could never figure it out) to recyle leftovers into a brand new meal. Geared toward families (loved that Brady and the kids are part of the photos) the cheese section stands out. Keep this close on hand in the kitchen.
Recommend.
