I love a good cozy mystery. Add in A Christmas Carol, dogs, and colorful characters and I’m in no matter what time of year it is. The characters were all so much fun! I enjoyed the banter. I’ll admit I haven’t read any of the previous books from this series but I’ll be going back and catching up.
I love Vicki Delanys books and I love this series! This book was so good and I thinkbit was a great book to add to the series. The book kept me on my toes and kept me wanting more and having to know who did what. This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series and this book was perfect.

Have Yourself a Deadly Little Christmas by Vicki Delany
Merry Wilkinson is up to her amateur sleuthing again in Rudolph, New York. Merry's mother, a retired opera diva, is participating in the local theatre group's musical production of A Christmas Carol. Her entire town is counting on a stellar show to compensate for last year's flop. The play is a central promotion for their year-round Christmas town. Merry can't help but get involved when one of the cast winds up dead in her gift shop, Mrs. Claus's Treasures.
This delightful whodunit is full of quirky characters and small-town rivalries. I have read the other titles in the series and was ecstatic that the author decided to write another. A fun cozy mystery to get you in the spirit of the holidays, or if you are like me, to get your fix of Christmas any time of the year.
Thank you to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the DRC.
Have Yourself a Deadly Little Christmas is the 6th in the Year Round Christmas series. It takes place in Rudolph, New York which is known as a Christmas town. Merry Wilkinson is the main character and owns Mrs. Claus's Treasures. Vicki Casey is her best friend and owns Victoria's Bake Shoppe., Alan Anderson is a wood maker, Santa's helper and Merry's boyfriend. Her father, Noel Wilkinson plays Santa. The other characters add to the story.
The Rudolph Community Theatre Players is doing the show The Christmas Carol, a musical. Desmond Kerslate is the director along with Catherine Renshaw the artistic director who is helping to subsidize the cost of the show. Aline Steiner, Merry's mother a retired opera singer has been asked to be the music director. There is a lot of discord among the players about what roles they are playing. Paula Monahan plays Mrs. Cratchit has added to the discord and is not well liked.
Paula comes into Merry's shop and while Merry is in the back she is murdered. When Merry discovers her she calls the police. Officer Candice Campbell is the first to arrive along with Diane Simmonds. This is where the story takes the reader on an adventure to find out who killed Diane and why. I will leave this to the reader to enjoy as there is a lot going on that it would be hard to put all on paper. It comes to a surprising conclusion.
Thank you NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for this ARC.
In Rudolph, New York, Merry Wilkinson and friends are preparing for Christmas. It may be year round Christmas in their cozy little town, but excitement grows as the holiday approaches.
Everyone is looking forward to the local theater groups production of A Christmas Carol, but tempers flare when the cast continues to argue.
A recent death creates more problems, and when Merry's mother is a suspect, she decides to poke around and ask questions, wonderful who caused such sorrow at the holidays.
This is one of my favorite series and I am thankful to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.

A great 6th addition to the "A Year-Round Christmas Mystery" series by Vicki Delany. However, I can help but feel "Have Yourself A Deadly Little Christmas" isn't an accurate title for it. I think it should have a title more themed to "A Christmas Carol" since that's the play the town of Rudolf, NY is putting on and what the mystery is around.
Great Christmas theme read for you year round Christmas lovers, Christmas in July-ers or it's actually that time of year. I have to say I started this series but hadn't gone back to it as of yet. After reading this one I probably will go back to the others.
My thanks go the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review this book.
Everything about Rudolph, NY is Christmas (all year long), but especially at Christmastime. The streets are bustling with shoppers and the Rudolph Community Theater Players are getting ready to perform a musical version of ‘A Christmas Carol’. Mary’s shop, ‘Mrs Claus’s Treasures’, is doing great, selling Christmas items and her boyfriend Alan’s, wooden delights. A sudden death of one of cast disrupts the celebration, and it brings out the worst in many people. With some of her close friends and family as suspects, Mary can’t stop herself from asking a few questions, much to the chagrin of the investigating detective. With her Saint Bernard, Matterhorn, in tow, Mary gets a little too close to solving the mystery and puts herself in jeopardy.
A fun, cozy mystery at Christmastime - what more can a person want. Rudolph, NY would be a fun place to visit.
I love Vicki Delany's cozy mysteries and "Have Yourself a Deadly Little Christmas" was funny & cozy with murder.
The storyline is excellent and the characters are interesting and well described. Would recommend
Thank you to Vicki Delany, NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for the arc of this book
This was a wonderful Christmas themed mystery. Merry Wilkinson owns a gift and decor shop in Rudolph, New York. The local amateur theater group is putting on a musical production of A Christmas Carol. Tensions run high between the director, artistic director and the cast and crew. When a woman from the production is found strangled to death in Merry's store, and her mother Aline and employee Jackie both become suspects. Merry does her best to help the police find the real killer. I really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting! Wonderful characters, lots of suspects, and a good solid plot. Thank you for providing me an advance readers copy to read and preview.
I was so excited to see another book in this series by Vicki Delany! As usual this is the perfect christmas cozy mystery.
If you haven't read the entire series you can still follow along just fine , although I def recommend reading the whole series!
Thank you netgally for the chance to read and review this book!
With the local theater troop putting on A Christmas Carol, a few new faces have joined the group and have a few different views on the performance. When the woman playing Mrs. Cratchit is killed in Merry’s store, she can’t help but try to figure out who killed the woman and why.
Without a lot of suspects with means, motive and opportunity, Merry finds her creativity taking over. But she knows she has to get proof in order to help the police nab the murderer. But will Merry get too close and scare the murderer into silencing her for good?
This series was brought back thanks to the many readers who loved it and asked for it to return. NEVER underestimate the power of reading and leaving reviews for your favorite reads and authors. Merry Wilkinson is the owner of Mrs. Claus’s Treasures in a town that promotes Christmas all year long. There is quite a bit of strife between the new steamroller artistic director and many of the cast and crew of the local amateur theater group, but the murder victim is not her! Lots of local color and well delineated characters plus inventive plot twists. Less humor than I expected, but a good read, nonetheless. I loved it! This is the first I've read in this series.
I requested and received an EARC from Crooked Lane Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

I mostly enjoyed this book, it did get a little slow in the middle. I liked the characters, they’re well defined, although the dogs are great. I thought the ending is prefect for the play that is featured. #HaveYourselfaDeadlyLittleChristmas #NetGalley
Thank you to the publisher for allowing me to read this eARC.
I loved that this was so cozy and mysterious, it held my attention quickly and I finished it the same day. The details were comfy, the clues and twists were intriguing, and it made me wish for the holidays. Definitely a joy to read.
