Lucy Score is my mew favorite author. I read my first Lucy Score book in 2023, and I have a goal to read all her published books. Loved Finally Mine with all my heart, just as I have wholeheartedly loved every single one of her other books!

Definitely a book with trigger warnings

When I previously read, “Pretend You’re Mine”, I got to see glimpses of Gloria and Aldo, and was so excited to finally get to this book, “Finally Mine”, to read more about Gloria and Aldo’s relationship! This book had Aldo with his long lasting crush on Gloria since high school so you could say he was very much enamored with her. Gloria had faced a lot from domestic abuse from her ex boyfriend and set out for a fresh start with the help of her friends and family in the beloved small town of Benevolence. This story took place during the same time line as the first book so you still got to see Luke, Harper, Sophie, Ty, and the rest of the characters. This was yet again another story that was heartfelt, emotional, hopeful, and more.

Lucy Score has a way of drawing in her readers in the first few pages of the book and once she grabs you, she doesn't let go until the end, that's for sure;. I thought this was a good book and kept you longing for more of Gloria and Aldo. I know I was sad when the story came to an end.

Gloria is such a strong woman and leaves you longing to be more like her in your life. Aldo is just a good book boyfriend to swoon over while you are getting to read about him and Gloria. I am not sure how Lucy Score does it but she has mastered the art of writing a good love story that captures you. I can't wait to see what is going to be next from Lucy Score after this one. I know she will have more thigs up her sleeve than we can even imagine!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book and all opinions are my own, Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for a copy of this book. Good luck trying to put this one down! It won't happen. Lol

Have you ever read the first book in a series and immediately started reading the next after you finished because the first book was so dang good?

I can not tell you how much I loved these books! I have the third (Protecting What's Mine) on hold at my library.

Finally Mine felt a little heavier than Pretend You're Mine because to me the content seemed more serious. It was a somewhat parallel story with the first, but it focused on a different relationship. I liked that we got more info about the main couple in Book 1 in the second book and vice versa.

Absolutely loved this one. I loved how it was dual timelines with the first one. I also really enjoyed the found family aspect that this book had. Not only did Gloria find love, her and Arlo both really discovered themselves and it was absolutely beautiful to read!

I am always thankful for the opportunity to read ARC’s and provide an honest review. Unfortunately I did not finish this book. It could have been the storyline or that I was not in the right frame of mind for this type of story. As usual I am certain some people will love this book and encourage you to make your own decision about it.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author, and publisher for allowing me to read/review an advanced copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book was honestly heart wrenching - another beautifully written FMC, Gloria and just knowing Gloria’s absolutely awful past experiences shows her strength and resilience. My heart ached reading about her last relationship, which is absolutely toxic and abusive. But the silver lining here was that Gloria got out and seeing her grow within this story and find herself happiness was just beautiful.

Our MMC, Aldo, in my opinion is much more lovable than Luke from the previous book, Pretend You’re Mine.

Their love story was written so wonderfully and again, this book shows that a good love sometimes takes work, but that it can be worth it. Absolutely loved this book from Lucy - highly recommend.

3.5 Stars

I am a HUGE fan of Lucy Score and have loved every book by her that I have read. While I didn't LOVE this book, I didn't hate it either. Without going into spoilers, I had an issue with a couple of things.

We got to meet the main characters of this book in the book prior to this one. Gloria was the character who is rescued by the FMC in that book and sets things in motion. Aldo is the best friend of the male MC.

What was my issue? Well, we learn in this book that Aldo has apparently had the "hots" for Gloria since high school. Yet, in the prior book and in this book, it is very apparent that EVERYONE knew that Gloria was being abused. EVERYONE. For a man that supposedly cared so much about her, he never lifted a finger to help her. Not one time. Yet, once she is free from the situation, he does a full court press on her.

I also wasn't really comfortable with Gloria as a character. At times she was a complete mouse, and other times she was an absolute wrecking ball. Now, I know all of us have different sides, but the level of her shyness and insecurities was so severe that it was hard to see other sides when they appeared.

Other than that, this was your typical romance. Boy and girl meet, are attracted, things happen, they have issues and then they overcome the issues.

Ms. Score does a great job injecting humor into her books and this was no different. I think if I hadn't been put off so much in the beginning, that I would have really, really liked it.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. The opinions above are mine and mine alone.

Oh my god another Lucy Score book that I enjoyed. I’m soooo surprised 😂 It was so fun to finally see Aldo and Gloria’s love story to develop after getting glimpses of it in Pretend Your Mine.

Gloria and Aldo both face such emotional challenges in this book. Gloria is just getting out of an abusive relationship and Aldo gets injured during deployment and is now an amputee. They both overcame these things with the help of each other but also by being such strong individuals. I loved watching Gloria find herself again and flourish again. Aldo’s perseverance helps him overcome a big mental and physical battle. It was also great to see their families and the town be so supportive of them. Their romance was chefs kiss and I was so happy to see them finally be together and happy.

This is a story of strength, love, and overcoming obstacles.

Aldo and Gloria had so much personal trauma to overcome, it was hard to see how they could get past it all. But in true Lucy Score fashion, we’re brought through all the past hurts by determination, love, patience and some serious spice. As usual, I loved this story and am so excited to dive into more by this author!

This book is just so unique and so profound on so many levels, I simply cannot. It’s ingrained in my heart forever, not exaggerating.

I love Lucy Score, though this isn't my favourite of her books. Overall it was good, perhaps it's the overlap with the other book in the Benevolence series, but I just couldn't quite get into it. She's still one of my must-read authors and I'll continue to read everything she writes!

This was another great love story by Lucy Score! Every time I think that I can't love one of her couples any more, a new one pops up that I love just as much if not more! I can't wait for the third book in the series to come out, and I'm looking forward to future books she writes as well!

after reading the first book in this series, I was excited for this one - I thought this was good but just a little too similar for my liking! I still am looking forward to reading more from lucy

After reading the first book in this series, I was really excited to be able to read Gloria and Aldo’s story. However, this one was not a favorite of mine. So much of the book was just a repeat of scenes in the first book but told from a different POV. Because of this, I found it really hard to stay engaged in the story. The main conflict at the end was also a letdown, seeing as how it had more to do with Luke and Harper than the actual main characters of this novel.

Overall this one wasn’t a winner for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Lucy Score for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

Finally Mine is not your average romance. It deals with some very heavy topics, and while I appreciate the need to have them brought to light, I am not quite sure they were handled the best way throughout this story.

Gloria has been in an abusive relationship for ten years and has reached the point she decides to leave. Aldo has always had a crush on Gloria but missed his chance in high school. Domestic violence is a very sensitive topic with so many effects and caveats so it isn't easy to just say someone should have done something but at the same time it is difficult to read a book where it appears that no one did anything for ten years. Again, this is a very complex issue but I think it maybe needed some reworking.

While Aldo seemingly said and did all the right things once he made his intentions known, and I overall liked Aldo and felt like he and Gloria were a good match, my bigger issue was his treatment of her once he returned from his deployment. Did I understand his situation? 100% But given her history, I had a really difficult time reconciling his treatment of her and him being the hero in this story.

I adored Harper and the friendship between her and Gloria and the general theme of overcoming one's past or difficult obstacles to move forward in life in a more positive manner.

I think the book has promise but it didn't keep me fully invested and it wasn't a favorite by the author. I do look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.

I did not know this book was the second book in the Benevolence serries. I decided to give it a try.

This is a story of Aldo and Gloria who are very much in love but they both have skeltons in their closet. Can their love survive all that they have dealt with in their pasts?

I am now going to go back and read the first book.
