Paradise for Christmas by Carolyn Brown is a nice Christmas story about love and families. I love Christmas stories that put dogs and cats in them.

Seven sisters come home for Christmas to the old brothel called Paradise. Two of the sisters find love. Which makes it a more memorable holiday. Another feel good story by Carolyn Brown.

Another good story by Carolyn Brown. Seven sisters who grew up in an old brothel come home for the holidays. Two of them find themselves in new relationships. Great Aunt Bernie helps with the matchmaking and chaos abounds! I enjoyed these characters and hope there will be more stories of the sisters and their pursuit of HEA.
I received a copy of this book in return for a review. Thank you, netgalley!

I received this ARC for honest feedback.

I liked the story, however by the middle of the book, it felt too disconnected. I wish it would have focused more on Ursala, and her story, but felt like she got shoved aside for Luna and Shane.
The seven sisters all deserve a story of their own, in my opinion, as they all are quite different. The characters meshed well, but it would have flowers better if it only focused on one at a time.

Paradise for Christmas is the first book in a series each featuring one of seven sisters who reunite for Christmas. In this first outing the focus is on Ursula Simmons, a writer who is suffering from a case of writer’s block. She is hoping that going home to Paradise (a former brothel, now refurbished into a home) will help unblock her writing stoppage.

I think charming and cozy are the best words to describe this fun Christmas book.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another winner by Carolyn Brown! This one revisits a family from an earlier story and tells the story of the 2 oldest sisters, of 7. There are a lot of names tossed around and a lot to keep straight, but it is still a great story.

Ursula Simmons is the oldest of seven girls. We had her mother's story years ago. The girls are all grown and ready to marry? Endora was engaged and found out he was cheating on her. Her twin sister Luna is secretly dating, and Ursula starts seeing Remi the next-door neighbor. This is a wonderful story of the girls coming home for the holidays and finding love. There will be more stories on the sisters, and I can't wait. Of course, we have an older aunt that has moved to the Paradise with her dog which hates the household cat and trouble is sure to follow.
I just love these stories with humor and life stories of how to live your life.

If there was ever a book that made me wish I wasn't an only child, Carolyn Brown's Paradise for Christmas is that book, and it's the first of several novels each featuring one or more of the 7 sisters who reunite for the holidays. In this novel, Paradise is a 100-year-old former brothel, refurbished and converted into a home for a divorced and remarried author and her 7 daughters, all of whom return to Paradise to celebrate Thanksgiving through Christmas. It also features a trope I love, a story within a story, and it earned 4.5 stars from this reader.

The oldest sister, 33-year-old Ursula, is the first to arrive home, and she takes after her mother--both are romance authors, but Ursula has writer's block and a deadline for her next novel. She's also soon reunited with her junior and senior high school crush, Remy Baxter, who lives just a fence and a short walk away from the former brothel. When Remy, a descendent of the brothel owner, Daisy, mentions to Ursula that he is in possession of Daisy's diary, he's also happy to let Ursula read it, and it's there that finds her inspiration, and it's also how these two adults who crushed on each other while schoolmates, admit to still being attracted to one another. It's a sweet love story, and the more time Remy spends with the family next door, he, who grew up without a father or siblings, is more and more convinced that he now wants a big family of his own.

Next to arrive is the youngest sister, Luna, and she too finds romance at Paradise, but her twin, Endora is still depressed and reeling from discovering that her fiance was cheating on her with her best friend, and Luna is doing her best to get Endora out of her case of the doldrums which have her believing that no man is trustworthy, and Luna feels that she has to hide her growing attraction and feelings for Shane.

As each sister arrives home, and yes, there's another set of twins in the mix, we learn little bit more about them, and they will eventually each be featured in upcoming novels, but for now, they are all there, and are preparing to make special memories for Christmas, revisiting old family traditions and making new family traditions. And, living her her small mobine home out back, is Aunt Bernie, and she's a hoot-and-a-half. She owned her own bar for 60 years, has plenty of stories to tell, is trying to stop swearing like a sailor on leave, and is trying to give her own brand of advice to her beloved nieces.

Having read and reviewed a number of Carolyn Brown's well-written, heartwarming novels, her Christmas-themed ones are special, and they always leave you with what I refer to as the "warm fuzzies." I'm so happy that I was able to get a chance to read this first novel in the this series. I love her well-developed characters, both past and present, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next novel in this series. My only issue with this novel, and the reason for the 4.5 star rating, was the rather abrupt HEA ending, which is my way of stating that I didn't want this sweet, nostalgic novel to end, and I think you'll feel the same way.

I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

A warm story about family. Seven sisters! Ursula, the oldest, has come home for the holidays with the rest. There's romance, there's heartbreak, there's support. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. This would make a great holiday movie. It's light, it's a fast read, and it's one that Brown's fans will enjoy.

Book one of the Sisters in Paradise series tells Ursula’s story. The eldest sister, Ursula heads home to Paradise for Christmas.

A super lightweight, quick read, easily finished in an hour, this book revolves around family, love, Christmas, sisters, and romantic interests.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

It’s the holiday season and all of the Simmons sisters have returned to their home, all seven of them and it’s fun and family all the way. Oldest of the sisters, Ursula is moving back home and hopes that it will help her writer’s block and Luna has to come to terms with how to tell her twin sister that her relationship with the man she loves is looking to move into a future together. Endura has had a terrible breakup with the man she thought would love her forever and does not appreciate that the men who have come over to The Paradise to help with decorating were more interested in getting to know her sisters better. Ursula will reconnect with the boy next door and see that life really does begin at home.

We met all of the Simmons girls in one of Carolyn Brown’s previous book Trouble in Paradise as little girls and now they are all grown up and have lives of their own. This book puts Ursula and Luna center stage with the two men that will come into their lives and with a little, no make that a lot of help from their well-meaning but interfering Aunt Bernie, and advice from mom Mary Jane and their step-dad Joe Clay, they will find that coming home was always meant to be the place were love always is.

I loved the way Carolyn Brown has brought us from the past to the present with these seven sisters and caught up on their lives. She does family and harmony together with love and a lot of laughter and her characters always seem like old friends by the end of the book. She brings the holidays to life and gives her readers such joy and happiness when reading one of her books. You want to read the book slowly to savor every word but want to get to the end to see what happens to the characters you have come to love. This will be a wonderful and delightful book to cozy up with for the coming holidays or anytime of the year. This is the first book in her ‘Sister’s in Paradise" series and I can’t wait to get to know more to the wonderful Simmons sisters.

Paradise for Christmas is the homecoming book of the seven daughters of Mary Jane. Carolyn Brown first introduced the family in Trouble in Paradise when all the girls were young and Mary Jane is a single parent. Now they are grown up and returning to Paradise for Christmas. Some are coming for a visit while others are coming home to stay.

Carolyn Brown has a way of describing scenery that makes you feel the ice on the ground even though it is summer time in Texas. The addition of Aunt Bernie adds humor and Daisy adds history. I wish that she would have continued on with Daisy’s story but this is also the first in the series.
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book.It was nice to learn about how the lives of this huge family was going as they were all adults.2 of the 7 daughters had boyfriends and were making their lives with their boyfriends. The other 5 were planning their lives and hoping to be in relationships soon. I recommend reading Trouble in Paradise before reading this book.

This was a great story. All the sisters are amazing but its the oldest and youngest who are enjoying holiday romances. A close knit family and with the holidays upon them could coming back home help them all?

I would like to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC of Paradise for Christmas by Carolyn Brown. This book is about seven sisters. Ursula SImmons, the oldest, is following in her mother's footsteps with being a novelist. Having writer's block, she decides to go home to Paradise for motivation and also, to see and spend time with her family who would be there with it being the holiday season. I love my holidays! This was a cute Christmas/Holiday read. I would recommend! 🎄🎅🎄

(3.5 Stars) I’ve only read a few of the author’s book and they range in angst, folksiness and passion. In Paradise for Christmas Carolyn Brown returns to characters who seemingly were once children in another of her books. Paradise is the name of the family home that once was an old brothel. Seven sisters were raised there and are now grown. Thus begins a new series called Sisters in Paradise.

Ursula Simmons is the oldest and is a writer like her mother but has writers block. Returning home for the holidays (Thanksgiving to Christmas) she hopes to get ideas for her writing. When she meets next door neighbor Remy, she remembers him as the boy she went to high school with and once crushed on. Youngest sister Luna also may also allow her heart to be stolen.

As a first book in the series some of it is getting the background and meeting each sister. But this is a warm, family oriented holiday story. It is full of folksy wisdom, country music on a playlist and passion that is closed door. There is also time to count your blessings. It will definitely please the authors fans. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

There is a lot of Carolyn Brown wisdom in her newest book. Lots of characters to meet, genuinely like any Carolyn Brown work of literary art. And if you are fans, like me, then you will recognize the effortless way with dialog these characters have. There is a sense of familiarity with each other. That is the family atmosphere that this writer truly adores and features in so many of her stories. Her characters seem to quote directly from the authors own mind. One such dialog immediately caught my attention and made me realize how much of Carolyn Brown is invested in all her works.
“If the characters isn’t real to Ursula, then she won’t be real to the reader. “

There is an undeniable feeling you get while reading PARADISE FOR CHRISTMAS, almost a look inside the author’s mind. The lead characters are writers with already published works. Mary Jane, the mom of seven daughters, became well known with her stories, which were a departure from her original genre, were a big hit and ultimately morph into a series. Daughter Ursula has also had some works published but is still in that almost popular, famous phase of her writing career. Ursula is also looking to move into a second genre, that of historical romance with an emphasis on the writer of a diary that has caught her attention.

While nurturing the possibility of a relationship with neighbor Remy, Ursula finds herself almost totally absorbed in the story of one of his ancestors. Carolyn Brown at her best creating two characters with enormous selflessness and yet aware of the at times inability to focus on their budding relationship. Here is where I feel as though life was truly imitating life, or actually the reverse.

Carolyn Brown so often thanks her husband and family for their unbridled support for her writing career. In PARADISE FOR CHRISTMAS you get the innate sense that this story is almost autobiographical. Joyous and revealing. Full of dialog that could be remembrances from this very loved and prolific writer herself. Perhaps I am guilty of over analyzing the scope of PARADISE FOR CHRISTMAS but definitely had vision of Carolyn Brown while reading her latest novel. Mix that with visions of the season and you wind up with a lovely heartwarming story of memorable characters past and present. Big thanks to Mr. B.
