Ride or Die is an intimate memoir by Jarie Bolander. of grief and loss from a husband's point of view. He offers readers his very personal account of his wife's journey with leukemia, and his own journey through the process as well. Bolander writes about the medical aspects and treatment when Jane was faced with this diagnosis, and how they coped with the overwhelming ordeal.

I appreciate Bolander's honesty and frankness in sharing this story about he and his wife's experiences in navigating through a diagnosis of this type, both as a couple and as individuals. It is a story of love, loss, and grief, and the day to day events and emotions in this painful period in his life.
Thank you to Net Galley and Spark Press for an advance reader's copy. My thoughts are my own.

Katie Bolander wrote this very detailed novel about his wife’s cancer. He shared the good, bad and even the ugly of handling and maneuvering life with cancer. He told funny stories of the good times and heart wrenching stories of the bad times. He had a great support system but things were still hard. This was an interesting read.

This book is a heartfelt tribute to a love lost in the flesh, but never in spirit or memory. Bolander recalls the early days of his marriage to Jane and describes the complications of a spouse with cancer. I rarely read the stories of male spouse caretakers or male grief, so this is the book for you if you are interested in that perspective.

Overall, the book missed the mark in diving deeper and sharing more about the relationship and the complications after death. The end felt rushed and details glazed over.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you NetGalley.

Ride or Die is a beautiful memoir. I find it really difficult to rate memoirs. This is someone's story, someone's traumatic experience. I don't see a lot of memoirs written by males, especially male caretakers.
We meet Jarie whom was his wife Jane's caretaker through her struggle with a terminal disease. I can't imagine how heartbreaking all of this was on both of them.

Jarie did an amazing job putting his story into words. The book was powerful and raw.
It was a great read.

I received a free copy of, Ride or Die, by Jarie Bolander, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Cancer sucks it does not discriminate, age, sex, etc, it does not care. Jarie's wife Jane, had cancer, this book is about their journey through this horrific disease. This is an honest look at a loved ones journey with cancer, a good read.

A sad story that’s told in a very real and honest way. Jane and Jarie were married less than a year when they found out that Jane had leukemia. They endure all of the torturous treatments, some more than once. But in the end, nothing cures Jane and she passes away from her illness. Jarie shares his feelings through all of it, stress, anger, failure, and grief.
