Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC.

A gripping thriller that had me hooked.

Married life is not what it seems for Jake and Natalie. They are struggling financially and have a young daughter.
Great characters and plot twists galore that aren’t obvious. I just didn’t expect any of it.

I think it would have helped if each chapter began with whos perspective it was.

Overall a really good read. Recommended.

The book was excellent and intense, and the twists and turns feel like a roller coaster ride. I loved the mystery when, Natalie's life turned upside down at the end of part one. I was shocked. Tge way the pieces fell into place was so interesting, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Highly recommended.

Jake and Natalie are childhood sweethearts, they may have some secrets from each other but who doesn’t?
When Kara rents a room from them strange things start to happen, is it Kara or is Natalie losing her mind?

A super fast paced twisty story that I very much enjoyed.
I loved the different points of view, it really helped keep the suspense.

This book deserves a category of its own. This is way beyond a thriller. This is way more fast-paced than most thrillers and there is way more suspense and way more unpredictable twists! or, maybe, just maybe, this book should be used to set an example of what a thriller is.
The book sucks you in and won’t let you go until you read the last page, and then you will go all – oh, what, wait, what did just happen, what did I just read?
Loved it so much how fast-paced it was, and it made this book such an addictive page-turner. Somehow, I had never read anything by this author, but now, after having read this, I’m mentally adding this name to my list of must-reads.

This book is so unputdownable good. This ending to part one had my mouth open because I did not expect what had just happened and had to re-read it again. The storyline is so full of secrets, twists, turns, and was just so unpredictable. Told from different POV’s the story goes beyond the main characters. This book was a thrilling ride and I cannot wait to read more books from Victoria Jenkins.
Natalie and Jake were childhood sweethearts who had a daughter named Elsie. Natalie’s dreams of being a lawyer are put on hold when her parents tragically die and she is left to take care of the farms she inherited. Natalie’s best friend Tyler helps her take care of the farm and his mom May was their accountant. In the beginning you can tell that Natalie and Jakes relationship isn’t a happy one and they are struggling. They are having money troubles and put out AD for a roommate and that’s when they meet Kara. Kara who works in IT remotely, responds to the AD and moves in. After Kara moves in things start to happen around the house, to her, and most frighteningly to Elsie that couldn’t be a coincidence. After child services gets involved Natalie starts questioning everything including her husband Jake. I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone you just have to read to find out.
I only have a few cons about the book with the first being chapters I wish they would’ve labeled who’s POV was being told however, after awhile I was able to figure it out. The second was the ending, it felt a lil rushed there were a few things I wished would’ve gone into greater details about. Other than that this book was an AMAZING read and can’t wait for more people to read it.
I want to thank NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC for my honest review.

Her husband Jake is keeping secrets from her and when she discovers what they are, she learns they are much worse than she originally thought. After facing financial troubles they allow a woman named Kara to rent a room in their home. At first it seems like an ideal situation but soon enough she finds out the dark secrets being kept by her husband and Kara.
This book had a very unpredictable storyline and was full of twists you won't see coming. The author said her goal was to make her readers question what they just read, and she most definitely achieved that with this book. I loved it and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves thrillers. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

Jake and Natalie have been together since they were very young. Some would even go as far to say they were childhood sweet hearts. They seem to have every thing. The perfect marriage, a beautiful daughter and a farm/home they inherited at the time of Natalie’s parents untimely death.

Recently Natalie and Jake have been having money troubles so they decide to advertise for a lodger. Soon Kara moves in with them and at first she seems to be the perfect lodger. She is quiet, gets on well with Elsie and soon settles into the family home.

Not long after Kara has arrived Natalie begins to realise strange coincidences seem to occur, Natalie begins to wonder if there is something going on between Jake and Kara, other strange things begin to happen and Natalie begins to wonder if Kara is behind them.

As time goes on Natalie finds social services become involved in her life as they are concerned for her daughters safety. Natalie’s first thought is that Kara is behind this however could it be someone much closer to home. With so many twists and turns Natalie soon realises that she cannot trust anyone close to her. With so many twists and turns this book will have you on the edge of your seat and will keep you interested from start to finish.

The only thing I did find a little disappointing was the ending. For me it all seemed a little too abrupt, but other than that I really enjoyed this book and it wouldn’t put me off recommending it to others.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publishers and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.

Solid 4 Star Read.

This is told from different points of view from a married couple that have a young child that seem to have fallen out of love. Things don't get easier when they take in a boarder to help their failing farm. Is she friend or is she foe?

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and honestly review.

Thank you net galley for this ARC! Solid 2.5

In the beginning, you’re immediately pulled in right after the first chapter. However at as you go along, there’s no indication as to who’s narrating the book then it switches from first to third pov in each chapter which is very confusing. You’re not sure whose chapter you’re reading so you find yourself having to reread a lot which gets annoying.

Once you get to part two, the plots start twisting so fast all of a sudden and you’re like wait what is happening every two seconds. I would’ve preferred more of a buildup and more thorough explanations. The overall twist is very interesting and kept you wanting to know more despite the confusion with the overall flow of the book.

This book left me guessing a lot through out the book especially which character was being referred to. This however did make sense later in the book. Either way it was still an enjoyable read

This is a great book to read without knowing anything about it. I did and it shocked me a few times. That is hard for a book to live up to.

Jake and Natalie are living a quiet life on the farm with their daughter Elsie. Money is tight, so Natalie comes up with the idea to get a boarder for the spare room. Along comes Kara, and Natalie couldn't be happier. That is until she begins to wonder if Jake and Kara are keeping something from her.

A small cast of characters makes it easy to keep track of. A little difficult to decipher who is speaking at times, but I believe this was done intentionally by the author.

You may think this is your run of the mill predictable book in the beginning, but don't give up! You won't be sorry!

Thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the arc.

4⭐️

Lots of great twists and a perfect setting of farm life and a small cast that we can keep up with easily. When the big twist happened, it made me question everything I’ve read prior to that!

We have Natalie as our main girl, living on her family farm with her husband, Jake, and daughter, Elsie. They begin to feel the financial effects of a disease which wiped out a good number of their dairy cows, so Natalie decides to lodge out their spare room for extra income. We are then introduced to Kara who they choose to rent out the room to. It’s all fine and dandy until she notices that Kara and Jake are sitting just a little too close together, where they jump apart when Natalie walks in… hmm… suspicious, suspicious…. But Natalie isn’t going to just leave it at that. She’s going to make sure her daughter is safe first of all. Because the secret her husband has…. Is so much worse than she could have imagined.

A love scorned, betrayals, secrets, and dark intentions all told in Dual POVs, I was left speechless at the end like “what did I just read?” So so good!

Jake and Natalie were high school sweethearts. They have a large farm and a small daughter. When things get tight, Natalie suggests they take in a boarder. Kara answers the ad. However, things done seem right and Natalie suspects that Jake is cheating. Thankfully she has her best friend, Tyler, to vent too. However, one night when Natalie suspects something, she goes searching through Kara’s room and makes a shocking discovery. Now she’s torn about what to do. Does she keep living this lie? Or does she confront them with what she’s found?

This one kept me guessing! The big reveal about half-way through, WOW – I loved it. This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I will say that I wanted some chapter headings because I kept getting confused as to whose point of view we were getting, but then I realized this was on purpose. I won’t say that I loved it, but I also didn’t hate it once I figured this out. But it was rather frustrating for the first half of the book. This was a really well put together book and I loved it. The pacing was great and it was a quick read that kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more.

Thank you to Bookouture, and netgalley, @Netgalley for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

WELL I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! a carefully crafted novel to give you an unsettling sense of unease throughout and really climaxing in the last few chapters. Really enjoyed this and devoured it!

Read this book If the following appeals,to,you: a complete messing with your mind; betrayal , murder, lying, cheating, psychological manipulation, and much more.
This book turned totally on a dime about halfway through, I had to reread a few pages because I lost the voice of one of the characters and had to discern who it was.
Two of the characters were repugnant and needed to be buried under the piles of manure the farm produced.
This book kept me on my toes.

Victoria Jenkins is unbeatable in her ability to create suspense and clever twists that grip you from page one. I read this book in two days and I literally couldn't put it down!

Natalie and Jake live a simple life on their farm with daughter Elsie, struggling to make ends meet. As a young couple with the responsibility of Natalie's childhood home and their young poorly daughter, there seems to a distance between them that can't be bridged. After advertising for a lodger for their spare room to make some additional money, Natalie finds herself suspicious of lodger Kara as she and Jake seem to strike up an immediate friendship. Best friend and farm worker Tyler reassures her Jake wouldn't look at another woman but Natalie is sure that there is something or someone coming between them. As a series of issues and faults begin to occur at the farm, Natalie begins to lose faith in herself as well as the others around her. Who can she trust? Who is out to ruin her marriage? How far do consequences from the past affect the present and future?

Its difficult to review this book without giving away its key secret but I can say that the use of different character perspectives across the chapters and the clever twists throughout gave me a genuine thrill as I read. Jenkins is a master of the psychological thriller genre, keeping her narratives believable and simple yet highly effective and engaging. The twist in this book genuinely shocked me and as a lover of this genre, I do like to think I'm capable of guessing some twists ahead of time - not with this book and that makes me love it even more.

A highly deserved 5 stars and I am a continuing fan of this author.

Thanks to Bookouture, Netgalley and Victoria Jenkins for the opportunity to read this book as prepublication in return for an honest review.

An excellent premise to the book. It lead me in one direction to then give me whiplash half way through. I did find the ending slightly muddled and dragged out but overall, it was a satisfying read.

I’m a big fan of Victoria Jenkins, so of course I was happy to see her new psych thriller Happily Married available to read.
I don’t mind saying, though, that throughout the first part, I kept thinking that it didn’t feel like her usual stuff. It felt more…I don’t know….”mean” than her usual stuff. Like true evil instead of messing with someone’s head.
But even in those early chapters, I couldn’t help but look for the twist. I knew it had to be there, because I didn’t think she would go too far from her winning style. At one point, I thought I had it figured out but thought it couldn’t possibly be the case.
I was half right.
At any rate, by the time you finish with part one, you’ll be questioning everything you thought you knew to that point. So when you start part two, it’s almost like reading a new book.
Which is kinda cool.
The rest of the story – after that first big revelation – unwinds in a fashion more typical of the author. But with an added level of that particular secret.
(Obviously trying NOT to give anything away).
In retrospect the whole book is very typical Victoria Jenkins, with other secrets and ulterior motives of the characters. And, as usual, the end drops revelations that show the reader an…alternate perspective (shall we say) of earlier events.
I love this author’s books. I know if I’m in the mood for a psych thriller that I’ll find a good one by Victoria Jenkins. Happily Married is a perfect example.

Holy cow.... I don't think I have the words to describe this one. This is my first red from Victoria Jenkins and it will definitely not be my last! Her writing style is amazing. The twists that were in this book still have me questioning what I actually just read, I had to go back a re read thinking I mixed something up along the way! I thought I had it figured out but boy was I wrong!

In this story you're introduced to a handful of characters, Natalie, Jake and Tyler have known each other for basically their whole lives. Natalie and Jake are married with a sweet 3 year old named Elsie and Jake has stayed to help them work on their farm. Kara is introduced into the scene when she see an add for a room for rent at the family farm. Things start to go sideways and Natalie begins to question everyone around her. Who can she trust? What is the truth? How will she survive?

Thank you Netgalley, the publisher and the amazing author for my ARC!
