A gripping and emotional rollercoaster!
Book 17 and this story we learn more about Dr Anya Feists backstory when her past comes back to haunt her. Trinity, Josies twin sister is in town for a story and when their cases overlap, it will have you on the edge of your seat as our much-loved characters face danger. This story will have you gripped to the very end and also reaching for the tissues, brought to tears twice, needing to take a moment as tears blurred my vision. This is a very emotional read for anyone who has read the previous books in the series, Lisa creates such a richness to the characters development over each story which in addition to the mystery is what keeps me coming back for more.
A fast-paced masterful mystery that you will not be able to put down!
Book 17 and not once did it feel like this series should end. I’ve really come to love Josie & her team, that’s why this one broke my heart. Murder, twists, action, & heartbreak, definitely a must read!
I have loved this series and was so excited to get this one. I am always happy that she includes a recap in the beginning because even though I have read them all I tend to forget before next book comes out. Now, I know all the characters and this one was emotional as one beloved character dies and it shocked and saddened me.
This book was great! It is fast paced, plenty of action and you aren’t sure where the story is going so you can be shocked by the ending. I thought I figured out who the killer was but I was wrong.
This is a series I can’t recommend enough as Josie Quinn is one fierce female and yet is such a good friend and support to those around her. This time to Anya who finally reveals her secret.
Book #17 in the Josie Quinn Series.
What did I just read?!
I am still not over it, this one was such an emotional rollercoaster I can’t even imagine when the story goes next.
I’ve mentioned it over and over, but this series just gets better and better! Lisa Regan consistently delivers! This novel was immediately engrossing, as are all of her others. Her books never have a dull moment. She keeps me turning the pages and conducting my own investigation with the Denton PD while keeping me on the edge of my seat.
In this novel, we learn more about Dr. Anya Feist, which I love! I relish the story even more when the story revolves around a main character because I love learning more about Josie’s support system and the little family she built herself.
As usual, the action starts right aware, and the story is full of surprises and twists! I can’t say I loved the ending, but it was definitely unpredictable, and I will keep reading this series until Lisa is tired of writing them! Hopefully, that never happens.
I’m not a crier and this book made me cry. This book has all the feels. It just shattered my heart. So much loss and sorrow. It kept me guessing. The writing is stellar. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Oh my God. What. A. Book. Writing this minutes after I finished reading and tears are blurring the screen. I thought I couldn’t love this series any more. I was wrong. While it could be read as a stand alone, to fully appreciate it, you need to read the previous books first. This mystery had me guessing and re-guessing. I changed my mind with every new twist. So many flawed characters and a few really abhorrent ones made this story keep me on edge for the whole time, especially the second half. For those that love these characters you will see them and feel like you’re visiting with old friends. I loved getting to know Anya better. I could have done with more Harris but that’s a small quibble. I highly recommend this book and appreciate being given the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait for the next in the series and wish I could select a higher rating than 5 stars!
And she is back! Josie Quinn and her team, ready to take on another case, another culprit to make the world a better place.
I am sorry if I am repeating myself, but Josie is one hell of a lady. She has not had the best start in life, but she has fought to be what she is today even though she has not dealt with it all yet and sometimes pieces of a case take her back to that disgusting time she had. But it was not all bad. Thank God, she has some lovely memories too.
The case Josie has to work with is not an easy one and when you don't have a lot to go on, it's very frustrating. Nothing can stop Josie and her team from working through the night if they have to and her sister is playing an important role too.
I love Chief Chitwood. He does not seem like the most loving man when you meet him, but there is a big heart hidden under that rough exterior. He also knows what Josie needs to help her through certain situations. He brought a smile on my face. Maybe a grizzly bear when you don't know him, but a big cuddly one when you do know him.
Josie Quinn or you could call het The Phoenix. No matter how many times you knock her down, she will rise again aid bring justice. That's one thing you can count on again and again. I loved this story, but it also brought tears to my eyes. Even now, two days later, it still make my heart shrink. 5 stars
Thank you
Josie Quinn and her team are called in to investigate the death of a young woman.
When the body is taken to autopsy, the Medical Examiner is shaken, as the body has an identical brand mark to hers.
Has her past come back to haunt her?
No secret that I am Josie Quinn's greatest fan. I love a strong, female lead in a police procedural, and I feel as though I have become friends with Josie and watched her grow in character throughout this series.
In the beginning, she had an impenetrable shell, showing the world just what she wanted them to see, and through the journey of the books, she has softened and found love and I feel that she has almost come to terms with her horrific upbringing, although she will never get over the cruelty meted out to her.
I like the fact that her twin sister, Trinity has been introduced to the books as well. Her upbringing was streets, no, COUNTIES away from Josie's.
There is a tragic loss though, and I think the readers will also feel stunned and sad about it.
Lisa Regan, you have done it again, a 5 star read, and I cannot wait for the next instalment.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
I'm didn't include this first line here in my review but feel I can in here. Holy shit! Now on to the review.
I'm not sure that Don't Close Your Eyes wouldn't have been a better title for us readers because this book went at warp speed. And grab some tissues for this one you're gonna need them in a big way.
I really thought I had this one figured out early but oh no I didn't. I never saw the ending coming, I never expected the killer. All I can is you need to read this book if you're a fan of this series. If you are new to it you may need some background for you to feel the same as you read but still you should read it.
Lisa Regan and I seriously need to talk about this one. And that's all I'm going to say.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow. I started this series in November after having the first 4 books on my tbr pile forever. I finally got to them and just could not put them down. You do not need to read them in order, but I recommend it so you can get the character development of everyone. I don’t want to give any spoilers. I’ll just say that Lisa Regan has become one of my favorite authors. This book made me cry, just as an earlier one in the series did. I had to keep reminding myself that this is fiction and it didn’t really happen. That’s what a good author does. They make you fall in love with the characters they write and get so caught up in their stories. If you haven’t started this series already, I highly recommend. I can’t wait to see what happens next with Josie and the rest of the gang. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
This book was sent to me electronically by Netgalley for review. Thanks so much to the publisher and the talented and gifted author, one of my favorites. Josie Quinn again...her family and her friends. Young women are being murdered, and Josie and her cohorts must discover who murdered them. The characters are realistic, and I think they would be great on a television series. The story moves quickly, with secrets and red herrings, to an astounding end. Don't try to discern the ending; it is almost impossible. Just read this book, go with the flow, and enjoy the journey. This is a favorite.
The newest Josie Quinn novel doesn’t disappoint! I have read a few in the series and have loved each one. Lisa Regan portrays her characters in a way that leaves you invested in their stories. You feel like you are there in Denton, PA right along with them. You feel their joy, fears, and heartbreak. This one had me crying.
This book keeps you on the edge of your seat with twists you never saw coming. The best series I have read all year. If you haven’t read a Josie Quinn novel by Lisa Regan yet, what are you waiting for? You won’t regret it!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of Close Her Eyes (Detective Josie Quinn Book 17) by Lisa Regan. All I can say is wow don't miss this book! I have started plenty of series over the years and many of them peter out or get repetitive after a while. This is book 17 in this series and not only is it still good, it just keeps getting better. I lost count of how many times I said OMG. This was an emotional read and I cried numerous times. The story was complex with lots of characters so it took me some time to keep them all straight. I really liked how there were so many stories and how they all fit together. This was really a page turner, and once the action really gets going, you won’t want to put the book down. If you haven’t started the series yet, you should. You could read this one as a stand alone, but you will be missing out on the growth of the characters and their relationships.
A young girl’s. body is found in a remote area, clothes not dirty, purse was set on the ground with a glove missing. A grandmother had raised her saying gloves was so important to her. The autopsy revealed murder, the connection that shattered everyone was with the mark that connect the medical examiner to the victim.
They had scars from their upbringing, not sharing those years, or the fears that they might be like the ones who did this to them. An emotion filled story becoming true to who they are and making their own choices now.
Given Arc by Net Galley and Bookouture for my voluntary review
Twisted, Diabolical. Tangled family lies and secrets. Close Her Eyes culminates in a heart-pounding race to the OMG explosive end that only Lisa Regan's magic can pen. It will leave you in tears in both a heart-rendering and heartwarming way. Five stars for Josie and the team!
Great book and series! This book was awesome! It had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, serial killers, Revenge, Great police work and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book and series! Its well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
Where do I begin?!?!? This one is a heart breaker. And may be a new favorite.
Those who know me know I’m a HUGE fan of this series. Detective Josie Quinn is a total bada$$! The way the author has grown the characters is just phenomenal.
This one really hit for me. I have many favorites. I love them all but there are a couple that just stand out. And this is book 17, and yet this series still gets me. I sobbed like a baby at certain points.
This authors ability to grow a character the way she has, blows my mind. When you open a book in this series and step into Denton, PA…you are literally consumed and immersed fully. You race with Josie to find answers. Answers that leave you breathless and at times gutted.
This book once again blends the Josie magic with pure fast paced adrenaline, family, love and sadly pain.
I don’t do spoilers so I could go on but I won’t. Suffice to say Detective Josie Quinn fans will be thinking about Denton, PA long after they finish this book. Good thing she started writing book 18‼️
