This is the 17th Detective Josie Quinn mystery. I have read more than half of them; it is one of my favorite series. Typically, I stay up late to finish each one because I can’t put them down!

In this case, a dead body is found in a nearby stream. When the MO has ties to someone in Josie’s orbit, the plot thickens. While Josie, her husband, Noah, and the team investigate, it seems this murder may be related to a cold case being researched by Josie’s twin sister, Tiffany, an investigative journalist. When a second body shows up, the mystery deepens. Danger awaits the team as the book reaches a stunning conclusion.

I always enjoy revisiting the repeating characters in Josie’s life. She has an interesting backstory and the author @LisaRegan always does a good job filling in that information so that these books do work as standalones. I do suggest, however, going back and reading some of the prior in the series. Despite having had many travails in her life, Josie is a strong, capable, likable female protagonist.

If you like well written police procedurals/thrillers, and are not familiar with this series, I would recommend it. I can’t wait for the next one!

Back in Denton for Josie book #17. Once again the body count ups quickly as Josie and team try to sort out the newest murder in Denton. This time we get some of Anya’s backstory. Another 5⭐️for me on this one. Our favourite team is hit with something that will change them forever. Can’t wait for 18 to see what happens next.

Detective Josie Quinn and her team are hunting for the killer of a victim found marked by a killer. And in the most horrific way - with a cattle brand. But she never imagined that a matching brand would be found on a living person that she actually knows AND works with - Anya, their medical examiner. Her ex-husband Vance did that to her before she could escape his abuse a decade ago. And when she found this victim's brand, she knew she'd have to relive the trauma in order to provide Josie and her team with any information she could to see if her ex is connected to this killing.

Vance does himself no favors when they question him at his farm. He and his family are immediately defensive and refuse to assist in any way unless absolutely forced to by their local police force. As unlikeable as they are, Josie's unable to find anything tying them to the case. But really, how can they not be related, it's not as if women are commonly found branded, and with the exact same design!

It gets even weirder when their investigation begins to tie into a cold case that Josie's twin sister, Trinity, is currently working on. How much of a coincidence is that? They soon find themselves with more suspects but the crucial question is motive - why now? What triggered all of these events to set in motion now, ten years after Anya left Vance? Josie has never been one to shy away from a challenge and this time is no different. It doesn't matter who tries to stop her and her team, she will forge ahead until she brings the killer to justice.

This book was such a good read, suspenseful but also terribly emotional. It's a case that's going to stick with Josie and her team for years to come. Whether this is the first book you've read in this series or the seventeenth, it's a shocking story you won't soon forget.

Oh my goodness!!! Lisa never disappoints! This story had me guessing from the very beginning! All of the previous stories are well written & make you come back for more. This one is no different! Some of the twists are heartbreaking! But they make your emotions to the story that much deeper!

I also reviewed on Goodreads, but did that one first.

What a harrowing thrill-ride this book was…as per usual I want to tank Bookouture for this ARC and thank you to NetGalley as well. Lisa Regan has outdone herself truly with this book. Not since Vanishing Girls have I been forced to stay up into the late hours to finish a book in one-sitting. The usual cast of characters are back with some well-developed new characters as well…the story starts and you have no clue where the book is going to take you and within a few short chapters you’ve reached the heights of frenzy, to the heights of distress and finally heartbreak…I can honestly say I cried near the end….the gamut of emotions Lisa takes you on is a true thrill-ride…fans of Josie Quinn will devour this book!! 5 stars…a tour de force!!

I am in shock. Shock over Lisa Regan’s incredible ability to continually bring Josie Quinn stories to the pages of each book but even more shocked over what just happened in this newest book.
Detective Josie Quinn has her hands full with multiple murders in her jurisdiction as well as looking into an old case that her sister Trinity is investigating for her tv show.
What she finds is non stop chaos, years of unanswered questions and tragedy.
Don’t miss this one.

Thank you #NetGalley and #Bookouture for this ARC

The bodies keep piling up, there are several suspects, but one stands out. There’s just no proof. As the investigation continues, secrets are revealed, and a connection is made to Josie’s friend, Anya, the medical examiner. Can Josie and her team solve the puzzle and catch the killer before anyone else dies? Only time will tell. Murder, twists, turns, a heartbreaking shocker, danger, drama, and more! This is an awesome story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Definition of panic: Dropping your e-reader about 70 pages from finishing this ARC! Solution: Grab your husband's and commandeer it, lol! In my defense this book was so awesome that I was completely invested (to quote my teen)! I had to finish reading that night or I wouldn't be able to sleep! Full disclosure, I love Lisa Regan's writing and I especially love her Josie Quinn series so it's no surprise that book 17 did not disappoint in the least....well, I lie because I wanted some Harris so maybe a teensy bit of disappointment!! However there was one thing that left me absolutely GUTTED! I sobbed but that's the only hint you will get from me. You will have to read it for yourself and I guarantee you will know EXACTLY what I'm talking about when you get to it! Thank you NetGalley and Ms. Regan for allowing me to review this book.

Close Her Eyes (Detective Josie Quinn Book 17) by Lisa Regan is another page turner with Josie Quinn and her team. As said before the series just keeps getting better and better. This is #17 and the storylines are still innovative, emotional, and gripping. I cried throughout the funeral pages and kept wondering why. Looking forward to the next book in the series. High Recommended.

Thank you to the Lisa Regan, Bookouture. and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

Josie Quinn is a female police detective who is willing to do what it takes to see justice is served. I’ve become a huge fan of this series and was excited when I saw this new book. This book is full of action and also heartbreak. While Josie is working on her latest case painful memories of a friends past come up. Josie and her team handle it all. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who loves crime novels with strong female leads. You can start anywhere in the series and not feel lost because the author gives enough relevant background for this story.

I will leave a review on Amazon and B&N on May 3rd

Close Her Eyes is the 17th book in the Detective Josie Quinn series. This book was a heartbreaking storyline, I have enjoyed getting to know Josie and the supporting cast of characters in this series. The author is able to paint a picture in my mind as the storyline progresses. Josie is definitely one tough woman with all that she has endured. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and Bookouture, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

A body lies beside Kettlewell Creek, the waters rushing and churning next to her broken form. When Detective Josie Quinn and her team arrive at the scene, they find few clues and a victim with no enemies. Nineteen-year-old Sharon Eddy was cherished by her beloved grandmother, who raised her, and her death shocks the Denton community where she worked at the local animal hospital.

When Josie is called to the morgue to hear the results of Sharon’s autopsy, the case takes a sinister turn. A mark has been burned on to Sharon’s left hip with a cattle brand: a horseshoe shot through with an arrow. Shaken and terrified, the usually cool and collected Medical Examiner Anya Feist lifts her own top to reveal an identical mark. Ten years ago, she fled her hometown after her marriage to her high school sweetheart ended in terror.

But Josie and her team can find nothing to connect Anya’s ex-husband Vance Hadlee to the murder. Their search of his family farm leads to more questions than answers.

Then another body is found. A young woman in a red coat, dumped like garbage in her final resting place, her hip bearing the same tell-tale horseshoe mark. As Josie gets closer to finding the truth, the killer creeps ever closer to home, threatening the lives of those Josie loves the most. Can she put together the pieces of this terrifying puzzle before it’s too late? Overall really clever, well written and one I will be recommending. I am now going to purchase the rest of the authors books that I haven’t read yet. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this early copy.

When the body of a young woman is found next to a local creek Detective Josie Quinn is called in as she's on call. Almost immediately the case takes a personal turn and as her team get deeper into the investigation no one can even guess at the heavy toll it will take on all of them before the killer is finally arrested.

Book 17 in Lisa Regan's brilliant series is a devastating but enthralling read from the very first chapter and I was a total mess by the end. There are some excellent books featuring Josie Quinn but this one is worthy of far more than the five stars available. I really hope number 18 isn't too far away, because I absolutely need to know what happens next.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. This is highly recommended, but you will definitely need tissues. One of my best books so far this year.

Lisa Regan has done it again with her latest installment in the Josie Quinn series, Close Her Eyes. From the very first page, the suspense is palpable as a young woman’s body is discovered beside Kettlewell Creek. As Detective Josie Quinn and her team investigate the murder of 19-year-old Sharon Eddy, they uncover a mystery that becomes more sinister with every turn.

The twists and turns in this novel are sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The discovery of the horseshoe mark burned onto Sharon’s hip with a cattle brand is a chilling clue that leads to an even more disturbing connection to the Medical Examiner, Anya Feist. The tension continues to build as Josie and her team try to unravel the connection between the murders and Anya’s ex-husband, Vance Hadlee.

The fast-paced action and well-developed characters make Close Her Eyes a thrilling read. Lisa Regan has a way of keeping her readers engaged and guessing until the very end. Fans of the series will not be disappointed, and new readers can easily jump into the series with this book – but please don’t, start with book one.

The ending is heartbreaking and really packed an emotional punch but that just means Lisa Regan did an incredible job at making us love and care for her characters.

Overall, Close Her Eyes is a gripping crime thriller that will keep readers up all night. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next installment in the Josie Quinn series.

Thank you to Lisa Regan, Bookouture, and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was another great addition to the Josie Quinn series ... so many twists and turns! There were moments that I definitely didn't see coming. The ending was a heartbreaking part. Cried ugly tears! I can't wait to read more in this amazing series. Don't skip any books ... read them all!

It's no secret that the Detective Josie Quinn series is one of my favorites and it's a series that I've been following ever since the first book was published back in 2018. My heart skips a beat every time a new sequel becomes available, because this series hasn't failed me yet... Close Her Eyes is already book number seventeen of a series that shows no signs of slowing down, and it's an explosive sequel at that! Make sure to brace yourself for an intense, action-packed and frankly shocking ride.

Before I continue, I do have to give a little warning that this is a series that focuses a lot on the personal development of the characters as well as the investigations. It's important to read the books in order both to understand the dynamics between the different characters and to avoid major spoilers. Close Her Eyes can technically be read as a stand-alone and some of the dynamics and past events are explained, but this sequel simply doesn't have the same impact if you don't have the full picture of what happened in the previous books and just how close this group of characters has become. Besides, the whole series is excellent and well worth your time in the first place!

Like I said before: make sure to brace yourself before starting this sequel, because Close Her Eyes is back to the series' old tricks and will hit once again hard on a personal level. Local Medical Examiner Anya Feist seems to be connected to the newest case, and the spotlight is on her character as we learn more about her past. The case itself is turning to be more and more complicated with each chapter, and there is plenty of action and danger to be found along the way. There are a couple of twists that hit particularly hard, and my mind is still trying to digest these newest developments... I sure didn't expect yet another blow this soon.

That said, Close Her Eyes moves just as fast as always, and I simply couldn't stop turning those pages. There is just something about the writing style and plot that makes this series highly addictive and truly unputdownable. The fact that it is yet another case that hits close to home only increases that urgency to know what will happens next... A little trigger warning is in place, because this particular sequel has a lot of focus on topics including domestic abuse, gaslighting, torture, rape and addiction. It's not an easy read, and I definitely needed a dose of chocolate after finishing it.

All in all Close Her Eyes turned out to be another successful detective thriller sequel and yet another winner. If you like your thrillers on the fast and action-packed side, don't mind a lot of twists and the plot going quite dark and intense, this is a excellent series to keep in mind! Things can be said about the credibility of the plots, but the entertainment factor is high.

This is an excellent murder mystery book that keeps the reader enthralled to the final pages! Thoroughly enjoyed it, and will read her other books in the series starring Detective Josie Quinn. The body of nineteen year old Sharon Eddy is discovered by Kettlewell Creek and starts the hunt for the killer.

Josie is a fantastic detective, but she is also still human. I love the bond she has with her team and how she always works hard to solve her cases
